I'm currently working far more on my original story at the moment than anything else, but I'm trying to type other stuff, too. It's just hard with school here and ideas popping up and then vanishing...

New talent! I've learned how to play the clarinet! Granted, I'm not excellent, but when you learn to play two octaves over a weekend with your little sister's clarinet, that's something!

And I'm a Christian and proud of it! I attend church regularly and enjoy it. But I promise never to say anything to anyone about their orientation or opinions, as long as they promise the same to me.

A bit about me: I live by Lake Michigan, so I've been swimming as long as I can remember. I'm in bands (CONCERT and SYMPHONIC bands), an orchestra, and I basically just love music. I also love to write, so when I'm not writing my fanfics (which is sadly not too often), I'm probably working on my original story or my own little drabbles. I've also recently begun to draw more, mostly manga-style people, and "real" plants. When I want to clear my mind or think up story plots, I play Solitaire, either Klondike, Pyramid, Freecell, or Clock-style. I really don't enjoy yaoi or yuri, but so long as people don't try to FORCE me to read it, you'll hear nothing either way about it from me. I think people are free to read and write what they like, as long as they don't force their opinions on others.

Likes: Music, riddles, writing and reading and drawing, anime/manga, talking to friends, good chocolate (like Lindt, or basically kind that's at least 60 cacao, I don't really like Hershey's), sushi rolls (especially salmon), Japanese BBQ or teriaki porks, birds, humor, cute romance but not really sappy stuff, ramune, pocky, silk, going barefoot in grass, being outside in the rain... I'll add more as I think of it.

Dislikes: Bullying, abortion, yaoi/yuri, people who try to force you to accept their way of thinking,people who won't listen to other's opinions, any living creature (not trees) that has more than six legs and less than two (unless it's something like one of my former neighbor's pets, a duck with one leg). I don't mind spiders, though, since I have them all over my house...

RIP Common Sense

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, “Common Sense,” who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:

- knowing when to come in out of the rain;

- the early bird gets the worm;

- life isn’t always fair; and

- maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don’t spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.

It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student, but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn’t defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, “Truth” and “Trust,” by his wife, “Discretion,” by his daughter, “Responsibility,” and by his son, “Reason.”

He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers – “I Know My Rights,” “I Want It Now,” “Someone Else Is To Blame,” and “I’m A Victim.”

Not many attended his funeral, because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.
