Author has written 10 stories for Merlin, Misc. Movies, Harry Potter, Great Gatsby, Wizard of Oz, Misc. Books, Lion King, and Another Cinderella Story. Hi there. :) I figured since I finally posted something after doing nothing but favorite for years, that I should update this and do it somewhat properly. Name: I'll go by May, or Nemi. Pick and choose. Sex: If you can't make an educated guess from the name, I'm not helping you out. I have no patience for fools. Age: If this were any of your business they'd have the option to make it public on the site. Loves: animals, reading, writing, sarcasm, hugs, teddy bears, dancing, singing, quotes (I have a document saved with something like 40 pages of random quotes from all over the internet that are either funny, beautiful, or profound and is constantly being updated. If you'd like me to send it to you, just send me a PM and I'd be happy to share.), my notebook, my laptop, family Dislikes: fools, abusers, homophobes, people who judge by gossip or what "everyone" says/knows (I also have a particular hatred for nightmares.) To begin with, since I find it generally pointless and annoying to post a disclaimer for every fic/chapter, I'm just going to post a sort of blanket disclaimer here: General Disclaimer: If you recognize it from canon, I don't own it. It belongs to the respective author, screenwriter, artist, etc... I am not making any money from my stories. I post for fun and temporary plunnie relief. First off, you should know I rarely write prose. I write poetry all of the time but I don't usually have the attention span for writing a good, long fiction piece. Unfortunately, I always get these fascinating ideas for stories in the form of plot bunnies that have built a warren in the back of my computer. As of right now (3:53 PM on September 19th, 2009) I have two stories just posted thanks to Nyxelestia ( http://www.fanfiction.net/u/1111765/Nyxelestia ), and an assortment of plunnies ~plot bunnies~ inhabiting my hardrive. These Plunnies include: a Harry Potter/Ouran High School Host Club/Naruto/maybe Loveless xover (which I love and has the makings of an epic, long fic, but that I rarely get inspired for) that's maybe 3 or so chapters in an Eragon fic (which will likely be Eragon/Murtagh slash, or at the least, brotherly fluff) that has maybe one chapter and the start of a second a House fic (of which I have little but the idea and a basic plot, but will include House having a child who has grown up in South America) a Harry Potter!Azkaban fic (the opening paragraph and a vague concept is all there is, though it would be a Dark!Creature!Harry fic) a Tamora Pierce, Protector of the Small fic (at least partially inspired by Fallen by Confusedknight http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3271761/1/Fallen which is one of the most amazing fics of all time) that has a pretty complete plot sorted out and a Sailor Moon fic (which I adore and would focus mostly on a very AU, very dark Michiru) that has much of the plot and a few scenes planned/written As you might have noticed, I have pretty eclectic tastes. The likelihood that I will actually write and/or post these at any point in the next year or so, is (unfortunately) slim to none. I have a lot of work to do, and this weekend is something of an anomaly with time in which I can actually type this and post stuff. And I refuse to post a chapter fic unless I have most, if not all, of it complete. I will, however, probably be posting an assortment of random oneshots as they strike my fancy. Now, off of that depressing topic, here are some of my personal Pet Peeves that I borrowed the descriptions of from Kamerreon, because she just worded them so well: 2. People who do not put appropriate warnings on their story. I am innocently reading along and BAM! someone is getting raped by a relative. For the sake of my poor eyes, put crap like that in the warnings. 3. Chat speak. I hate it in any form. Just don't do it. 7. People who do not spell-check their work. I am not going to read a story that requires a dictionary, a magnifying glass, a mirror, and encryption technology. Hell, they have free spell-checking online. Use it! This also includes incorrect canon spellings. I highly recommend: Potterwords. (Seriously, if you can't put Dumbledore's names in the right order or spell "Konoha" either find an online source to check with or get out of the fandom.) 12. Authors who can't take constructive criticism the way it is meant. If I leave you such a review, it is because I am trying to help you and improve your writing, not because I think you suck. I don't read stories that I think are hopeless. 15. People who bash their own writing. I am so sick of author notes that say, "This sucks ass, but here it is." If you really think it's terrible, don't post it! If you hate it, chances are that we will too. (Even if you're just trying to be modest, please, don't do it. It's honestly pathetic, pointless, and rather irritating.) 19. Incorrect word usage. For the love of my brain, re-read your writing before you post it people. I am so sick of seeing 'slime' instead of 'slim,' or 'defiantly' instead of 'definitely,' or 'waste' instead of 'waist'. If it looks a little off, ask someone for help. There is no shame in needing assistance with something if you aren't sure. 20. Authors who get offended when you recommend that they get a beta. You are only trying to help them, and make their writing more enjoyable for everyone. They would slowly learn their mistakes and be able to better themselves as a writer. If I say you should get a beta, take it as a compliment, it means that I think your story has potential. 21. Schizophrenic authors, but only when all of their personalities are from a different country. Nothing fucks with my head faster than seeing French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, and Ancient Aztec in one chapter. You're taking a two-semester required high school course, good for you. I'm not. I don't care that you learned how to say, "Let's fuck," in Chinese, because Harry sure as hell doesn't know how! (I love languages, and I love when people can creatively and realistically use them in their stories. But try to use some common sense and restraint. And please provide translations. This goes especially to the Lord of the Rings and various anime fandoms: I don't speak Japanese or Elvish. Please don't try and teach me.) These are just my personal favorites of her list, if you want to read more, go check out her profile. Here's the link: http://www.fanfiction.net/u/1614796/Kamerreon. Some of her quotes are awesome too. ;D Ok, quick note on my poetry: I love it and I have a ton. The stuff on my "homepage," my deviantArt account, is mostly old though. I'm trying to get some of my stuff published and having it online is a pain because I have to watch for previous publishing restrictions. So if you want more current writing (which is much improved) after reading an old piece or something, please let me know and I'd be happy to send it to you privately in exchange for some feedback. Finally, if you like Loveless, Naruto, Harry Potter, Danny Phantom, Sailor Moon, Gravitation, Kingdom Hearts, Crossovers, TMNT, Tamora Pierce, Inuyasha, Lord of the Rings, Alex Rider, or any number of other fandoms, please enjoy browsing my favorites. But be warned: if it's in my favorites and marked Mature, it's usually not just a precaution, so please be aware. Also, if you have a problem with slash, threesomes, graphic sexual situations, much older/younger pairings, I would suggest care in browsing. I hope you enjoy, and feel free to message me if you feel like it. I always enjoy a good random conversation. ad augusta per angusta ~ to high places by narrow roads | |||||||||
