Author has written 6 stories for Pirates of the Caribbean, Sweeney Todd, and One Tree Hill. Hello everyone! Before I start to drone on and on about my hobbies and stories, let me tell you a few things about myself: Name: You can call me Bynamearose or Rose, no further than that... Location: Out of mind usually...but if you really want to know, I'm sometimes in the US. Occupation: Part-time student/ Part-time writer/equine artist. Quotes: "In this world, nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes." -Benjamin Franklin "The only gossip I'm interested in is the World Weekly News- 'Womans bra burts, 11 injured.' That kind of thing." -Johnny Depp "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt." -Abraham Lincoln "Death is always and under all circumstances a tragedy, for if it is not, then it means life itself has become one." -Teddy Roosevelt "To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." -Teddy Roosevelt (Personally, my favorite quote of his) "The human body has two end on it; one to create with and one to sit on. Sometimes people get their ends reversed. When this happens, they need a kick in the seat of the pants." -Teddy Roosevelt "It has been my experience that folks who have no vices have very few virtues." -Abraham Lincoln "Silence is not always a sign of wisdom but babbling is ever a mark of folly." -Benjamin Franklin "Hope of gain, lessons pain." -Benjamin Franklin "I'm not sure I'm an adult yet." -Johnny Depp "If you would win a man to your cause, first convince him that you are his sincere friend." -Abraham Lincoln "Nearly all men can test adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power." -Abraham Lincoln "Absense and death are the same - only that in death there is no suffering." -Teddy Roosevelt "Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety deserve neither Liberty, nor Safety. " - Benjamin Franklin "Teach your child to hold his tongue, he will learn fast enough to speak." -Benjamin Franklin "Three may keep a Secret, if two of them are dead." -Benjamin Franklin "I like being confused, I enjoy the look it leaves on my face." -Johnny Depp Mort: ~talking about the man his wife cheated on him with~ I was thinking...He and I should get together sometime, have a drink. 'Cause, you know, we've been to a lot of the same places... - Mort Rainey, Secret Window - film version Mort: I know you're in there, shithead. If you don't come out by the time I count to five...I'm comin' in swinging... ~runs in the bathroom with a fireplace poker and smashes into mirror~...I killed a mirror ~hears something behind him and breaks through shower door~...And my shower door ~looks at it wearily and notices the cause of the noise, a mouse, in his tub~ - Mort Rainey, Secret Window - film version Movies: Shutter, Saw, Pirates of the Carribean 1, 2, and 3, Dawn of the Dead, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, The Last Unicorn (Yeah, I still "Aww..." at that), Signs, Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal, Secret Window, Once Upon a Time in Mexico TV Shows: All My Children, One Tree Hill, Sex and the City, Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, 21 Jump Street Plays/Musicals: Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (FYI: People, Sweeney Todd, a masterpeice of Christopher Bond, Stephen Sondheim, and Hugh Wheeler, is first and foremost a MUSICAL/PLAY, not a MOVIE. Get it straight. ~twitchesincrazymanner~), Sound of Music, West Side Story, Oliver Twist Books/Authors: J.K. Rowling - Harry Potter, C.S. Lewis, Phillip Pullman - Northern Lights (in other words, 'The Golden Compass'), Edgar Allen Poe, Charlie and the Chocolate factory - Robert Dahl, Stephen King Pairings (all fandoms): One Tree Hill Leyton (Lucas/Peyton) - My main course; I never really took interest in this ship because the foreshadowing came into play. (I'll admit, I always thought Lucas was just a 'sensitive' man-whore XD). And, although there were plenty of hints during the show (and, yes, even in season 2, Brooke/Lucas shippers), I think I started bouncing on the balls of my heels in the Rachel/Peyton drunk scene: "No, no I like that line!...it reminds me of Luke...or Jake." "You sure you don't mean Lucas?" Brucas (Lucas/Brooke) - Oh...so many things I could say about this ship. Firstly, I don't 'hate' it. I dislike it, mostly because it tends to degrade Brooke's character. He cheated on her with Peyton, and after that the insecurity (which, in my opinion, was valid) wouldn't go away. In her words, he never let her all the way in. He never really let go of Peyton (...so, I'm theorizing a little...shoot me). And I'm not saying they didn't have chemistry. Or that they aren't at all compatible, because they are. But, in my opinion, the emotional chemistry...the emotional honesty...kept them from having a secure, open relationship. And, as an extra note, for the people that blame Peyton for the end of she and Brooke's friendship (as well as Brooke and Lucas' relationship), as though there wasn't any guilt - or redemption - or real friendship between she and Brooke, really, you guys need to rewatch season 4. They both were wrong. Peyton didn't 'steal' Lucas from her the second time - as a matter of fact, she made it clear that she didn't want to steal him, or stab Brooke in the back. And, even after Brooke and Lucas were broken up, tried to wait until Brooke had moved on to tell him of her feelings. Let's face it, with the fight over Lucas, (from Brooke trying to seduce him when Peyton walked away, to the cat fight in Peyton's front yard), the triangle almost ruined their friendship; not the other way around. Lucas is to blame as much as Peyton. "I love being that guy for you..." "Well, does Brooke like you being that guy for me?" And, a few episodes later... "...the same words, Lucas? The exact same words?!" Lindscus (Lucas/Lindsey) - Never really saw much of anything here. Lindsey served her purpose and wasn't an entirely intolerable character. But never really clicked with me. Naley (Nathan/Haley) - Oh, c'mon, dont' you love these two? This is one couple that never wavered in my faith during the show - they're just too...together not to be...If that makes sense. I'm sure it doesn't, though. "You shouldn't have done that..." "I wanted to." Bake (Brooke/Jake) - I love this pairing, I do. Never had a chance..but I knew Brooke would be one of those tortured 'maternal instinct' mothers, trying to do right by the next generation. I honestly think Brooke would have been great with Jenny...and, as for Jake, neither Brooke nor Jake survived Lucas and Peyton (And, yes, there goes all that Brullian drama I foretold to fellow Bake fans). Brathan (Brooke/Nathan) - Okay, this relationship is non-existant, half the reason why there's so much potential. Both being damaged, their personalities are so alike that... It makes conflict really natural to write... Brase (Brooke/Chase) - Brooke always seemed to be a better person when she was with him and Chase was such a puppy dog with her. He really seemed like the guy who'd care for her and, honestly, Brooke deserves that. (And, yeah, this is me throwing out that old rule that anyone with a previously opposing ship - aka: Peyton/Lucas/Brooke - must not like that character. Not true...) Browen (Brooke/Owen) - What is up with putting Brooke next to these random stand-ins?! Really. I love the mature Brooke Sophia and Mark have perfected but, GOD, will they stop yet?...I'm actually more fond of Brooke/Ethan (Dr. Copeland) - since OTH seems to find Brooke hooking up with strangers so appealing. Brullian (Brooke/Jullian) - Actually, and this might suprise some of you, I like this ship. There's a certain...irony in it. Both got caught up in the triangle that is Leyton + 1. "Everyone thinks I came for the girl in the book..." Pathan (Peyton/Nathan) - My guilty pleasure, as, when I first started watching the show, their angry chemistry reminded me of the beautiful act of hate sex. Strange, I know, but, overall, the relationship with Nathan and Peyton seems slightly neglected - even as frends. "You were never happier..." "And you were never hornier." Skevin (Skills/Bevin) - "Never date girls named Bevin." (Skills talking about what he'd taught Jamie) Anybody else interested in what went on there?...I'll admit, I never really hate ships (it's utterly ridiculus and erases the fun of fandoms - no matter how much you try) but Tim/Bevin is definately not my favorite, to put it lightly. Dills(?!) (Deb/Skills) - OH. MY. GOD...No, really...My brain just fried. Well...it's an interesting pair, to say the least. But not my cup of tea. Gilmore Girls First off, I loved this show in general. It's casual banter and pop culture references had me (and my own mother) trading looks throughout the the show, just denying the impulse to go, "That is so me." lmfao. Java Junkies/Lukelai (Luke/Lorelai) - Always my first and foremost ship in this fandom. I'm sorry, but how many years was he in a place Christopher should have been? Rory's father? Taking care of Lorelai when Chris did something...idiotic? Luke was amazing with Lorelai. I really...disliked her jumping from guy to guy during the show, even if it did keep ratings up and continue to prove a funnier joke amoungst the town. It was great to see them together in the finale. Trory (Tristan/Rory) - Admittedly, my love affair with the ship that could have been still astounds me. And, yes, I know. ("CMM. OMG") But, seriously, not my beef. He's sex on legs and a convicing enough actor, but not God. For the fangirls that write for the former...don't. I loved Tristan and Rory partially because of Alexis and Chad's chemistry, but mostly because it's the love story we love to hear about = jaded, but arrogant anti-hero + slightly naive, yet opinioned heroine. It just...it. I know, I'm crazy. But it was the love/hate relationship - with my ships - that made me that way. That and tearing my hair our when they introduced Tristan II (i.e.: Logan). Literati (Jess/Rory) - My second favorite Rory ship, in itself. Intellectually, I really liked Jess for Rory. There was a sense of downplaying that fit the break-up and really...made me think maybe Rory had done it right. Of course, on the other hand, for the same reason I thought Dean was the 'jealous boyfriend' most of their relationship and Logan was the oh-so-faux 'redeemed hero', Jess could have been the 'bad boy'. Admittedly, more compelling that Logan and Dean, but still...same end. Sweeney Todd Sweeney/OC - No...just no. I have not found anyone that can make that work so far. Yes, I'm all for putting a foot forward - but, really, there are stories I've read that...did NOT need to be written (or read for that matter). Sweenet - Again, I must sigh at Burton's unfortunate character development. I don't like the movie because of Mrs. Lovett; I loved just about everything but her, Antony, and Johanna - all three could have been much better developed. Honestly, to me, Angela Lansbury is Mrs. Lovett. I think (and feel free to tell me I'm discriminating against anyone who liked Helena Bonham Carter's 'character'; I more than likely won't like your work if you're making Mrs. Lovett quiet and secretive about her love for Mr. T - plain and simple) that Burton took too many of her lines (I know the movie was long enough - but Mrs. Lovett just wasn't there...really). Mrs. Lovett was constantly talking about her and "Mr. T" together by the sea - "Your Lucy's gone, poor thing. It's your Nelly now, innit luv?". I'm not a huge fan of those stories where they are giddily in love, really, but I love a giddy Mrs. Lovett. Is there any other kind? House Huddy House/Cuddy - Besides House being fucking hilarious, I always loved their relationship from the beginning. So much chemistry and sexual tension. I think I about died through a few of those episodes.
