Author has written 44 stories for Naruto, Rosario + Vampire, Elfen Lied, Sekirei, and Evangelion. Favorite Authors: Robert Jordan (RIP), Stephen King, Harry Turtledove, Colleen McCullough. Anyone who is a fan of fantasy I highly recommend Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. Tragically Mr. Jordan passed on last year, but Brandon Sanderson, another fantasy author, will finish the series. The final book will be called, "A Memory of Light". The books tell an amazing and detailed story that I think anyone would love. Favorite Bands: Evanescence, Nickelback, Ozzy, Within Temptation, Avril Favorite Movies: Shrek, Pirates of the Carribean, Memento, Lost in Translation, Star Trek 2 Wrath of Khan, Star Wars (all of 'em!), Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail (as a general rule any movie with a killer rabbit must go on my list), Austin Powers (again all of 'em...yeah baby, yeah!), Silence of the Lambs (Fava beans, yum!) Favorite TV: Naruto, Deathnote, Elfen Lied, XXXholic, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Star Trek (except Voyager!), Lost, Battlestar Galactica, college or pro football, and anything on the History or Sci-Fi channels (except fo the cheesy Sci-fi movies of the week which are just horrible) About Me: I am originally from a place called New Bedford, Massachusetts which is about an hour south of Boston. All I will say about it is that if you are not from there you would never have any reasonto go there. I am curently living in Tampa, Florida and attending the University of South Florida as an Accounting major. I hope to enter the high paced and sexy world of professional accounting! I am; Portuguese American, Catholic, a registered Democrat, somewhat liberal, and a completely out of control Red Sox fan. I believe in respecting the beliefs of others and demanding the same in return. Any of you who happen to be anime fans let me put out a word for three series, Elfen Lied, XXXholic, and Straight Jacket which are as different as night and day but both exccellent in their own ways. Elfen Lied is sort of a combination of a tragic love story with a few elements of Frankenstein added in. It is extremely bloody, any of you who don't like blood shed or are turned off by nudity shouldn't even bother with it. The body count reaches fifty or so within the first ten minutes. The story is about, 'Lucy' who is a young girl who is a part of the next evolutionary step and so has lethal powers and 'horns' which make her an outcast. A bit like Frankenstein she seeks acceptance, but when she finds only abuse she uses her abilities with bloody results. The story is about her search for love and forgiveness. XXXholic is a very sweet and well written story about wishes and the cost of making them come true. It centers around a young high school student who is cursed with the ability to see spirits whether he wants to or not. One day he wanders into a magic shop run by a friendly witch who can grant any wish so long as the 'proper price is paid.' He wishes to no longer be able to see spirits. She agrees to grant him his wish... once he has worked a sufficient number of hours in her shop. He and his friends soon find themselves dealing with a wide range of customers, some human some not, and an even wider variety of wishes. It is sweet and touching and very well written. And it makes teh point that some wishes are just not worth teh price you have to pay for them. As of now Straight Jacket is only a three episode OVA. There is no word if it will be made inot a series though one can hope. Even by itself the three episode are a powerful stand alone story. The world of Straight Jacket is one where technology and magic are both real and are both used side by side. It is a bit like the setting of Full Metal Alchemist. In this world however there is an inherent danger in using too much magic or using it improperly. The result being the user becomes a demon, an inhuman monster that is usually insane and bent on mindless slaughter. To fight these monsters people turned to, 'tactical scorcerists' magic users speciafially trained and equiped to fight the demons. Of course because they use such powerful magic again and again they are sat high risk of turning into demons themselves. The main character is a sort of anti-hero who prefers to fight with dealing with government regulation. Though short it is artistically beautiful and tells a story of loss and redemption. Why I write: Because I love it. I am cursed/blessed with too much imagination. I enjoy creating characters and giving those characters interesting adventures. And if some people enjoy reading my stories then so much the better. I happen to be a big Naruto fan and actually discovered the fanfiction.net site while looking for Naruto fanfiction. Before long I began writing my own stories about Naruto and was very pleased to find that quite a number of people enjoyed them. As of now I have twenty stories of which fifteen have been completed. I believe in finishing those things I start. Nothing annoys me more than finding a reall good story and enjoying it, only to find it hasn't been updated ini a year and a half. Wrtiting is my passion and I love it, as anyone who checke the sheer volume of how much I've written will see. I occassionally have to remind people though that this IS a hobby and I am not paid for it. The vehemence of some people can be surpriing as they write demanding an update or to rail against my killing a particular character. I update at my own pace and I write the stories I want to write. I apprecaite it if other people enjoy them and consider it a huge bonus. BUT the reasion I wtite is for personal satisfaction, I write the stories I want to write and never let my reviews change things. I find it most interesting as I have had people rail against me for writing Naruto stories that do not follow cannon events at all and are almost completely original except for the characters and world used. As though not following those same events is some how blasphemous and ruins the story. The cannon story IS a good one. We would not be fans of it if it were not. But the entire point of this website is to give free expression to your own creative thoughts and share them. If you only want to read about the events that happened in the published story then do so. But coming to this website you should be open and eager to different interpertations and freesh possibilities. None of which diminishes the great ness of the original. I have had stories with thousands of reviews and I have had people leave reviews telling me they spent X number of hours reading one of my stories straight through. I have also had people tell me they think I could be a professional writer and that they look forward to each new update. I enjoy getting such praise and am grateful for it, but until I am actually paid for something I write this is a hobby. Which means I hope people will be forgiving when something I write meets with dissapointment. But in the end no matter how much I enjoy it I write because I want to write and I write what I choose to. No apologies. | |||||||
