Started with Harry Potter and have been off and on addict ever since. Some of the stuff I've read is really, really incredibly good. JK Rowling doest have anything over some of the amazing ffiction writers out there. I strongly believe that said Potter-creator happily created a bloody mess with her dear story AND got a bit murderous for her own good. Sure, you cannot get a good story without a good drama and suffering, but too much is just that - too much. My fav char is Hermione. Have to love smart people. And surely, I cannot stand Ron (and Mione's canon relationship with him either). Moreover, I got real annoyed over Harry's antics in the Book V. I read Hermione/Draco, started with it actually. If the story is well-built, the relationship actually works incredibly good. Harry/Hermione is a jewel too. Been there, done that in my case. I strongly believe that such a friendship wouldnt work as a 2D only. There has to be something deeper, yeah? And dear King Git is totally unsuitable for a brightest witch of the century. Been reading some Sirius/Hermione, too. Got to love Sirius and there are some real good stories out there. With or without time travel. Harry is my second most lovable guy in the whole verse (with Draco close by). If only he wouldnt be such an idiot most of the time! Therefore, I enjoy good Super!Harry, Independent!Harry, Power!Harry or Whatever!Harry-which-involves-him-seriously-kicking-ass. Well, you can have main char powerful and still more or less human. JK trying to create hero without real heroism. Him getting lucky all the time is less believable than him starting to learn stuff and act more mature. That is the reason why I a bit enjoyed the last book. He at least was stronger/smarter at the end. Blonde Slytherin Git is such a nice character with amplitude of possible paths he can go as a person. Got to love him. Aside from Dramione, he is really good as a friend to Harry. I mean, they really could be great friends. Maybe not the best friends, they are still Draco & Harry, but c'mon, if you have Mione & Ron working, Draco & Harry is not so strange. Aside from Potterverse, I read : Stargate SG1 Daniel + Vala, Jack + Sam, Cam + Lam, Friendship!Jack + Daniel, Team!Friendship, but mostly Daniel/Vala Avatar: The Last Airbender Zuko/Katara -- I suppose, I have a thing for bad guy/good girl, that canon simply would not allow, huh Twilight Saga ahahaha, canon!story is good, but performance not so much; Bella/Edward in variations, mostly all-human types; do not like Jake much Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles John + Cameron; I LOVE Cameron!! and the pairing is strange, so you simply have to make it work for the strangeness' sake (and for obvious chemistry between the two, too) Finally, but not least -- LOTR. I ignored the fandom for a long time believing that JRR is JRR and no one should even attempt to write about HIS world. Boy, was I wrong. I have a thing for Elves. My fav trio is Glorfindel, Legolas & Haldir. And I love Elrond for his eyebrows of DOOM (I recently exclaimed that I AM Elrond in a lecture, cannot live that one down and am now known as a She-Elrond... uhh, yeah). Glorfy is such a badass Elf! Pity, he is not loved as much as the Princeling. And Haldir is, like, Malfoy of Lorien with his attitude! Gotta love them! Thus, I kinda pathetically enjoy reading immortal!mortal kind of stories. And tenth walker (JRR, I love you to pieces, but c'mon, Fellowship got to have a woman in it) who is a kickass femal-amazon-superpowers-girl mostly accused of being a petty Mary-Sue. And Aragorn!has-a-sister-something is a nice read, too (if written nicely). Simply put, Aragorn is like my etalon for a big brother I always wanted & never had. Uhh. Please, enjoy my big, big (even though I have seen bigger...) fav list of fics about the mentioned fandom-pairings. Trust that most are quality-read for those that enjoy reading particular pairing-kind-of romance. | |||||||||
