Gyreflight - my original nom-de-net of Gyre was unfortunately already taken on ffnet by the time I got around to signing up. I'm still Gyre everywhere but here though, as I have been for the whole of my fandom life (insert scary number of years here). Sadly, many of my old haunts have gone the way of Ozymandias.

By the way, does anyone know the conversion factor for fandom-years? You know, like dog years? :-)

Since my Fujin muse is refusing to be tempted back to the glove, I thought I'd try the time honoured tactic of focusing elsewhere for a while in the hope of having something to offer.

So then, Hope's Rest makes its debut.

My apologies to those still waiting for Fujin - she has not been forgotten. Perhaps if I pay attention to Vincent for a while she'll make another appearance (she's never been very amenable to persuasion, but I'm sure she'll make her own mind, in her own time)...but then again, I'm not sure how wise it is to risk having those particular muses trying to share mindspace at the same time.

Oh well, too late now :-)

If you have a little spare cash, you can reach out across the world and lend it directly to someone who needs it to improve their life - an old lady in Samoa who wants to rent a space in the market; a blacksmith in Uganda; a Peruvian shepherd; a Lebanese Taxi driver... It's up to you. When they pay it back you can either take it and spend it on rent/groceries/books/chocolate...or turn around and lend it to someone else. Everybody wins, and the world is that much better for the effort. (Current total amount lent by individuals is now more than 90 million dollars. Doesn't that restore your faith in human nature?)
