My username, Shahzadi, is Persian and Urdu for princess. It presents Eastern regality in all its exotic grace.

I absolutely love to read and write, the sole reason I'm on this site. My other interests include history, traveling and politics. I am a Muslim which is very important to me, and an American citizen simultaneously. (I have Pakistani roots.) I don't believe Osama bin Laden speaks for the 1.61 billion Muslims worldwide, and neither do biased Western news channels. I believe in interfaith, world peace and tolerance; and even though others find that unlikely, I'd rather die trying than give up. One of my many role models is Benazir Bhutto, Harvard and Oxford graduate, twice-elected Prime Minister of Pakistan and the first woman ever to lead a post-colonial Muslim state, as well as US president Barack Obama.

As for history, I am mainly obsessed with the history of royalty: the Tudors, Romanovs etc. The Islamic Golden Age, and the coexistence of Christians, Jews and Muslims in Spain is extremely inspiring. I also love historical architecture. I think history is a great inspiration for writing.

I LOVE to travel because seeing new places really broadens one's insight. And again, different places are a great inspiration for writing. I prefer cities because each and every one of them have an interesting and unique atmosphere that belongs only to that city.

I am your average dreamy fangirl who finds characters more appealing than real people in most cases. I abhor pointless flames, Mary Sues, incest, slashcest, bad grammar and spelling, though I believe that any writer can improve if they really try. That said, some people hate Mary Sues and atrocious grammar as much as I do, but you can't flame a story and expect the writer to make it better. I'm not too fond of slash either, especially if it makes the characters OOC. I respect some slash, especially canon slash, but even then I don't like it.

I don't have many stories written, but I plan to post more soon. The genres that I mainly write within are romance, drama and angst; sometimes even horror, as long as intensity's involved. I would really like to write humor, but then I wonder whether I'm the only one laughing. I can't tell a lame joke from a good one (or at least when I make a joke, that is). I love to read humor though, cuz I love to laugh.

My Stories

I. It's All Coming Back to Me Now- PJO fic. I don't do songfics often but Celine Dion's song "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" made me instantly think of Luke and Thalia's relationship and how they've been separated between much time and distance. The lyrics of the song are also very poetic and dramatically so. Genres are romance and drama, rating is K, ship is Luke/Thalia. I wrote this some time in 2007. If you read, please review! :)

II. Didyme's Ashes- Twilight fic, one-shot. I'm best at depicting scenes which is why I wrote this one-shot. I wrote this when I read the Breaking Dawn FAQ on Stephenie Meyer's website. It focuses on the Volturi a long, long time ago (Genoa in the 9th century if I remember correctly), on Aro's little sister and Marcus's mate, Didyme. Didyme who ended up being killed by her brother as a means to further his ambitions. Genres are drama and horror, rating is T, though nothing too graphic I assure you. I had A LOT of fun writing this and if you like it as much as I did--or even if you didn't--please leave a review :). I love hearing feedback on all my work.

III. Namesake- HP fic, basically a series of one-shots, character studies almost, focusing on the name of an individual Harry Potter character and its significance. Authors, especially JKR, really spend time on picking their characters' names by evaluating the meaning, the origin, how it sounds and what it may mean to the character. Namesake is about that. It's also the first general fic I've ever written. Please read... and reviews would be awesome, thank you.

IV. Last Words- PJO fic. Angst is the main genre here. I thought the scene of Luke's death in Last Olympian was just AMAZING and so I started to wonder what he was thinking during it all. And I wrote it down. Rating is K+. R&R please!
