Author has written 16 stories for Naruto, and Fullmetal Alchemist. Life has a funny way of taking your expectations and turning them on their heads. I have decided to overhaul my fanfiction account. Both the stories I have written as well as the stories that I have enjoyed will be under great scrutiny. I have learned much over the years about quality; if I am to get back into the world of fanfiction I wish for my account to reflect my skill and taste. There is something magical about fanfiction. I have written quite a bit of original fiction now and even had a few pieces published in some local literary magazines. But even though the desire to write my own novel grows stronger and stronger, I can't help but come back to fanfiction. Time and time again, I have lost myself in alternate universes and canon sideshoots and vingettes of great mental and emotional depth. I feel like fanfiction has touched me in ways that other experiences haven't, and my experiences in life have served to enrich the stories (both fanfiction and original fanfiction) that I partake in. Though I will take down many of my old fics, with few being re-vamped and re-published, I look back on them as a learning experience of the highest degree. It is in this community of fans and writers that I have found some of my best criticism as well as some of my highest praise. I look forward to hearing response to my work almost as much as I look forward to producing it. There have been many along the way who have encouraged me and urged me to challenge myself, and it is in part what lead me to my current place in life- an English undergraduate major looking at a Masters program in creative writing. Why would I not come back to this wonderful place and give back as much as I could? I suppose in short, this is my return. | |||||||
