Hello! I've been reading Harry Potter Fanfiction for a while now, and it's been holding me over between books. I've found so very many excellent stories, and I decided to try a few myself. Please feel free to contact me with advice or comments.

Law of the Universe : AU post Ootp, Post Hogwarts. Voldemort is dead. But, seemingly, so is Harry Potter. How does this affect the world, and the many people that Harry's life has touched? Will friendships and alliances withstand the strain of their hero's "death"? Meanwhile, Harry, under the name of Ian Evan Black, seeks the peace of the muggle world, unbeknowst to the wizarding one. He attends university, and reluctantly allows himself to befriend a select few, as he revels in the newfound experience of being completely normal. But as we all know, Harry Potter can never stay normal for long... Slash, though absolutely nothing explicit. I don't do touchy-feely.

Sometimes : A random poem about Harry's faults. It highlights the fact that not even "heroes" are invincible. You can insert whomever you'd like as the nameless narrator.

Chasm In My Soul : Who is the real Severus Snape? Does anyone truly know him? And if they don't, then why do they perceive him as they do?

Harry's Different : When Ginny starts dating Harry, Ron pulls her aside for a little chat. His purpose? To warn her. His warning? Don't hurt Harry.

Finding Nirvana: Harry Potter's parents have been mourning the loss of their son since October 31st, 1981. The catch? He's not dead. He's Voldemort's most feared follower. Harry - or Lucien Lumosangre, as he has been renamed by his father, the Dark Lord - hates most of the Death Eaters. Of course, he holds a few dear to his heart, but overall, they are a mindless, cruel lot who live for nothing but to kiss the hems of their Lord's robes. And he hates his father, who punishes him daily for showing compassion to those who have wronged him. Lucien has never believed in the whole pureblood hype. And now it's time to do something about it. Hogwarts, Marauders, Order, Hermione Granger, here he comes. There's a trailer for this story on youtube. To Private Brandon Styer, U.S. Soldier who was killed in a roadside bombing in Southern Afghanistan on Thursday, October 16th, 2009:

Your favorite quote was, "Distance means so little, when someone means so much." Appropriate, because now you are so far out of our reach.

In high school, you were so alive. You were always laughing and goofing around and finding something new to poke fun at. Then we graduated, and you joined the army, like so many others, and not long after, you were in Iraq, and then Afghanistan, facebooking messages to your friends back home whenever you could. And now you're dead. Dead: it's a harsh word, but it's true, even more stark for the fact that you were only nineteen, and nineteen years does not seem like enough time to touch as many lives as you have; your death makes that touch that much more poignant.

Now you’re dead, and it’s stupid, and senseless, and not fair. And even though they always told us that life wasn’t fair, I don’t think it ever really hit home until now, as we stand around this memorial for a fallen classmate and friend – a memorial that I can’t help but think you’d hate for its lack of laughter.

Now you’re dead, and what has this accomplished?

What have THEY accomplished? Nothing. They have killed a nineteen-year-old boy who made the world a better place with his smile, and thanks to this futile war for ideals that don’t really exist, reality is darker than ever.

All the same, we thank you for your sacrifice. But we give more thanks for how you lived, and for the person you were. You were a great kid, and we mourn the loss of the man you would have been.
