(14.11.09) English exams finished, but then the school dropped a bombshell: mock exams are in a couple weeks! At least I only have five of those...

(6.11.09) English exams... on Monday and Thursday... --gulps-- I guess the only thing that's going to get me through them is knowing I can resit them again in June. Ah, GCSEs - you gotta love and hate 'em, what with the resits being second chances and all. At least my English exams are the only thing I need to concentrate on right now.

(6.8.09) I've decided to make myself a goal for my time on FF.net. I'm going to write at least 50 oneshots before I choose to leave the site. I'll be making a list further down of all the oneshots I've written. If I get to fifty quickly, I'll make my goal 100.

Existing Story Status

Since I'm pretty sure this bit's boring and no-one really wants to know, I'll only put up the status on existing fics that are either in-progress, or I have something to say about.

//: Prank Wars - My first ever and longest fanfiction. Completed.

//: Strawberry Shrieks - Sequel to Prank Wars! It's no longer on hiatus, but I'm still struggling to write this one. Bear with me, if you want to see an update. The plot keeps changing slightly, so I don't know where it's headed.

//: Adumbrate Alexithymia - A oneshot darkfic for sakuuya's birthday. It was co-written with Chiharu, and honestly, I think we had fun doing it. (Also, Chi named it.)

//: Beginnings - First attempt at yuri (Minto x Zakuro). It... um... got a little out of hand and ended up more than 6,000 words. But, I actually quite like it for some reason - I don't normally like my own work.

//: The Bane of His Existence - Even though 'Bain' is a prettier spelling, Immi told me it was wrong (she knows so much!). Another oneshot, and this one was quite quick and easy to write. It was also a really nice change of pace to write about someone who I haven't written about before, though I did struggle a bit with trying to keep Pai in-character. He was harder to write than, say, Kish or Ichigo.

New Story Status

Ok, so I've been pretty lazy updating over roughly the past year (explanation near the end of my profile), but I want to change that. I have a few new projects and even some old ones I'm going to be working on from now until the end of this year. Here's the list:

Forum Buddies

Kish's Kittie:- Pretty much my best friend on FF and one of the best reviewers/writers I've come across. I've learned a lot from her since I joined FF and owe her a thanks or two. She's a really admirable author who gives great con-crit and always helps me improve. I have a lot of respect for her and take her advice to heart. She hasn't been around much lately, but I guess that makes any time she is online better...well, you know what I mean, happier and more special.

Cherrie-Sakura:- One of the people I'm closest to, both on FF and in RL - I can just tell her anything, no matter what, and know that she won't judge me and will help if I need it. She's got me through a lot, though she probably doesn't know it, and I'm extremely grateful to her. If anyone asked, I'd definitely say she was like a big sister to me. :) She's so easy to talk to; she's kind, thoughtful and understanding - and always manages to brighten my day, no matter what mood I was in before talking to her! And... well, some people you just know are going to be there forever. Thanks for everything, Cherrie!

sakuuya:- I value sak's opinion a lot. She's mature and honest, and I take her comments seriously. Well, aside from when she's joking around - half of what she says on the forum makes me double-over laughing. She's got one of the best senses of humour I've ever come across! But really: she gives some of the best advice, and is like the voice of reason.

XxStrawberryKittyxX:- I'm her Beta Reader, but honestly, I find it hard to pick out many errors or criticize much - in other words, she's a pretty good writer. She's really sweet and takes any advice I give her. I've gotten to know her more on some forums, and she's a great person! I laugh at some of the rants I hear from her - she just has a way of making me smile, like that. I guess I sorta see her as a little sister, one that I want to look out for.

XxXChiharu-Chan-1000-SpringsXx:- I'd say that Chikachu is probably one of my best friends on FF.net. She always makes me laugh, and is so damn competitive! Though, really that's like a breath of fresh air; she keeps things alive with her spirit and it's nice to know someone so confident in herself. She's extremely easy to talk to, and always has something interesting to say. We've done a couple of co-written things together, and we make a pretty good team! Also, I have to add: she's awesome-sauce! XD Here, Chiharu, have some Skittles!

Tomoyo Kinomoto:- I've never known anyone who can think so outside-the-box like Tomoyo. She seems to know everything (which can be a little creepy at times XD), but it's actually really helpful because you can ask her practically anything and she'll know the answer. Her ideas always leave me shaking my head, going 'That's amazing'. She's someone who's easy to talk to and also really funny. Not to mention her writing blows me away...

ZephyrFiction:- To say he makes me laugh is an understatement (how many of these people make me laugh?). He's my first male friend on the site, and probably one of the most random. I consider him a good friend, because it's easy to talk to him about certain things, though sometimes he confuses me greatly. Sometimes, he kinda feels like a big brother to me.

Thoughtless7:- I know I keep repeating that everyone's random... but honestly, T'ess holds the gold for her utter randomness. She's raised that bar ten-fold. XD We haven't talked in a while, actually...

RED-EYED STIK:- We talk quite a lot now, though it seems like he constantly has to explain maths to me and it's easier to find something to say to him now. XD From what I've heard, he rocks at DDR and other such games, and he's a pretty nice person, too. XD Also, I think I come across a little ignorant when I'm talking to him - it seems as though he has to explain a lot more than just maths to me.

Tazzybizzy:- The youngest forum member, but by no means the least talented. She's got great potential in her writing! She's really nice and sweet, and it's fun to talk to her. So full of energy, too!

Marvel Maiden:- Hyper is one word I would use to describe this girl. That, and constantly happy. :) It always seems as if she's smiling, and she has a knack for making others smile too, no matter what. I think that's her attitude, to be honest - she's just so bright and cheerful, you can't be sad when you're talking to her! She planted herself into the forum pretty well, too; it feels as though she's been around forever, she fits in perfectly.

Sacridia:- I don't think there's been many times when we've talked properly, but she's a really nice person, and I'd say she was quite mature. Yet another person who fits in really well on the forum.

Immortal x Snow:- I hereby dub her my younger sister! She's a spunky, sweetie-pie in my opinion and has a good presence, too - she managed to establish herself well in only a day, and has really grown on me since I met her. Somehow, she manages to hold her own in an argument with Chika - which is actually a pretty hard thing to do, so kudos to Immi. It's surprising how close we've gotten in just a few months - it feels like I've known her forever! And that's the type of friend that just sticks. Like with Cherrie, she's a friend I'm really grateful for having, and would go to the end of the world and back to help her when she's going through a rough patch.

ShadowCelebi:- A great person - both in general, and to talk to. Pretty much all my other friends on this site are TMM writers, and whilst that doesn't always make a difference, it's nice to be able to talk to someone who follows a different fandom. It's refreshing... Her stories are great - she's a very talented humour writer and can adjust to different writing styles well.

Jhaede:- She was one of my first friends here, so I guess I'll always see her as such, even though we don't talk anymore. Sadly, she rarely posts anything anymore.

Fanfiction Questions

Just a few things that would explain my writing better...

Why so much description?

I like a lot of description in a story - not over-doing it, but the right amount is good. Dialogue isn't one of my strong points, so I tend not to want to use it all the time. But I try to, because I want my speech (in my writing, of course) to get better.

What's with all the romance/humour fics?

I like fanfictions more where there's pairings involved, and it's fun to write romance. Humour...well, I've never been very good at humour, so like with the rest of my writing I use this site to try and improve.

Why do you write so much about character's expressions?

I think it's easier to tell something about a person by their expression - especially their eyes. You can tell a lot about someone's feelings or personality through eyes. So I do frequently have a lot of description about facial expressions and small gestures. It's also easier to understand the story, in my opinion.

What about character's points of view?

I like writing about different characters sometimes, just to toy around with writing about different people and developing them, and attempting to get a better grasp on their characterization - even if I do get them a little OOC. It can help you to understand different people and different situations if you write about other characters as well. However, I mainly tend to focus on a story centering around Ichigo or Ryou (TMM). But I also find it easy to write about Minto, so when I do change POV, more than likely it'll be her who gets the focus.

What writing style do you prefer - 1st person or 3rd person, and why?

I like 3rd person for certain stories, but 1st person for other types. Um... I guess it's hard to understand that. There are different types of writing styles - your own writing style is very much like a fingerprint; unique. I've always found it easier to write in 3rd person for my stories. But I've read a fanfiction once that was amazingly funny and written in 1st person; it would have lost all it's humour had it not been written in the style it was in.

Why do you always put A/N's at the beginning and end of a chapter?

I don't know really. It's fun... in a weird kinda way. I guess I prefer it when there are authors notes in chapters.

So... any reason as to the ton of oneshots? Why don't you update your chaptered fics?

Oneshots are easier for me. They're quick, fun, and don't require too much planning. Plus, the length has to do with it somewhat - it takes me a while to write something to my best ability, so updates aren't very frequent. Oneshots are just little one-offs, so in roughly the same time I can write a chapter, I can write a oneshot - and then I don't have the hassle of updating it. As to the chaptered fics, I guess I've already explained: it takes me some time to write 3000+ words (which is the average for my chapters now), so it doesn't seem like I'm updating much. Also, I tend to have a lot of random ideas, so keeping up with the same one gets a little boring for me, and thus I get writer's block (prime example: Strawberry Shrieks). BUT I will be writing more chaptered fics in the near future.

This is far too hard, because I'd probably pick at least six, but if I have to choose three...

1. Kish's Kittie cos she would totally kick butt! And she's pretty smart, too.

2. Chiharu because every team needs the entertaining, random, utterly-crazy member. Plus, she comes with free Skittles.

3. sakuuya because she's all-knowing, the eldest and most mature, and can beat Chiharu hands-down in an argument.

21) You see 1 and 5 sitting under a tree together, what are they doing?

Probably talking about fanfictions. Or maybe KK is finally helping Chiharu spread the FFness.

22) 4 seems depressed. Why so, and how do you cheer them up?

She probably just epically failed. I'd just give her some Skittles and that'd cheer her right up.

Aww, but Maia and Immi are too nice to prank SK.

Despite the instinct to crawl and hide under my bed, I'd probably go to sakuuya for help, because she's logical and can un-scare me.

Bungee Jumping: Zeph. Scuba Diving: Cherrie or SK. Sky Diving: Tomoyo.

29) You accidentally walk in on 4 and 5 furiously making out. What is you reaction, if any?

Probably stand there and gawp for a while, muttering, "I didn't think that they liked each other like that..."

Hmm... probably any of them. They're all really nice people.

Hmm... I'd have to say Stik, because he's older and has super fighting skills... although, Maia's a mage so... can I take both, please? XD

34) 1 and 9 reluctantly team up to save the world from the threat posed by 6's secret organization. 7 volunteers to help them, but is later discovered to be a spy for 6. Meanwhile, 6 has kidnapped 4 in an attempt to force their surrender. Following the wise advice of 5, they seek out 2, who gives them what they need to complete their quest. Any comments? And if this were a fanfic, what title would you give it?

Tomoyo, why are you trying to take over the world? And... SK betrayed them for Tomoyo... didn't see that one coming. O_o Hold on Chiharu, sakuuya and KK are coming to save you! If Cherrie decides to give them that laser she borrowed off Zeph so they can save you. Hmm, y'know, I think Zeph sent them to Cherrie on purpose. Maybe they're conspiring against you. And maybe sakuuya and KK are in on that, too. In which case, this fanfic would be called 'The World is Against You'.
