Author has written 8 stories for Detective Conan/Case Closed. Key's Writing Policy: - Do NOT use wordpad. It's not smart enough to correct even the most ridiculous mistake. - Do NOT write gibberish: if there are too many characters, too many explosions, too many ??s and !!s and WRITING IN CAPITAL LETTERS ALL THE TIME AND USING OMG WRITING and riting laik ur a ten yr old, nobody will understand what on EARTH you're writing and, incidentally, won't like your story. - Do NOT write chapters under 1,000 words. The readers won't have enough time to enjoy it. - Do NOT write short sentences. Not elaborate enough. Not enough description. No action. Too crappy. - Do NOT write only dialogue. That's as bad as everything. There's no description, no reaction, nothing the reader can lean on to try and grasp the event. Only do this if it's a short, unrelated paragraph that's supposed to invite a certain mystery to the text. - Do NOT go too fast in the plot. Describe the surrondings and what's going on. Explain everything. (Don't exaggerate either, I've heard there exists a book where the author spent 800 pages describing a single, friggin' house.) After the "do nots", the rules and suggestions. - Take your time. If you're in a hurry when you write, it'll just be a jumbled up mish-mash of words and won't be nearly as good as the work you usually do. - If you're writing a regular fic, the readers will be happy as long as you follow all the above rules. - If you're writing an AU fic, describe the settings and surroundings, if only for the sake of having the readers understand what's up and what is different. And what it looks like. - If you're writing a crossover fic, make sure you describe ALL the characters physically and for each character do it in one go everytime a new one is introduced. Describe them mentally, little by little as the story goes on. Use bribes of their past to explain their personalities, and all the more so if there's a time gap between the fic setting and the real setting. Describe their surrondings as good as you can to help the reader visualise what the characters would be like a universe that isn't theirs. xXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXx Stories Behind The Scenes (on hiatus): Basically all my DCMK oneshots. It's got pretty much all kinds of stuff like crack, AU, angst, romance, anything that comes up in my head first. Birds of a Feather (in progress): This would be the aforementioned ass-long fic. It wasn't thought to become as long, but after calculating all the stuff I wanted to put in, I realized just how long it would actually end up as. It's an AU-fic, apparently enough people like it, and though I should probably rate it as angsty it has a lot of friendship/family/romance/action/hurt/comfort/mystery/sci-fi/fantasy/whatever-else-there-is. If you read any of my fics read this one, I think it's the most popular. Forgive Me (complete): A two-shot between Kaito/KID and Aoko, kinda cute I guess. I've been wondering if I should pop it into the "Behind The Scenes", but since I don't know yet I just left it there. Anyway, you read. Or not. Special Message (complete): Kinda stupid, it's basically me continuing the happy DCMK-charas-on-fandom-screens-parade saying happy birthday to Shinichi. Astrological Love-Test (complete): First "Birds of a Feather" omake. Kinda funny, I guess. Gone With The Wind (complete): A KaitoxAoko one-shot dedicated to Mangaluva. Angst and fluff. Pizza Delivery! (complete): Crack. Nuff said. Ski, Snow and Skates (complete): Cracky oneshot with KaiShin. Since there wasn't any particular pairing I did those two. Projects Permanent (not yet started): AU KaiShin. Planned to be 13 chapters long, romance, angst, and a sad ending. Myosotis (not yet started): AU ShinRan. Something a little Romeo&Juliet-ish, yet not at all. Ace-Case (not yet started): A Detective Conan/Phoenix Wright crossover. Yuusaku has been framed for murder and asked Phoenix Wright to be his defense attorney. And yes, Shinichi is here to point out details and annoy our beloved lawyer. World-Swap (not yet started): A Detective Conan/Magic Kaito/Fire Emblem Sacred Stones crossover. Shinichi and his friends get sucked into a dimensional portal after Kaito smashes the Pandora jewel on a heist, and certain people from Magvel such as Ephraim end up in Tokyo. Must love the cultural clash. Animal World (in last, maybe): A Magic Kaito/Animal Crossing (GC version) crossover. Hakuba moved to Ekoda and is assaulted by talking animals, a thief, a witch and a mop-warrior. A little cracky, yes. Last Will (not yet started): A Detective Conan/Katekyo Hitman Reborn crossover. Shinichi meets Tsuna and the rest of the Vongola as he learns that the Black Org is actually a Mafia family called the Palotola. Since the Vongola themselves are having a hard time dealing with the Palotola and Shinichi can't fight alone, he'll need to gather up his own "family" to take them down once and for all. Action and some crack. The Mysteries of the Beika District (not yet started): A Detective Conan/Professor Layton crossover. Layton and Luke end up in Japan for a trip, and notice that murders seem to happen everywhere. And there's always that one same boy around everytime. Time to look into that and see what they can find. Flames of Justice (not yet started): A Detective Conan/Pokemon Collosseum corssover. Shinichi has been living a normal life in his peaceful hometown until some strange trainers come and take his Taillow, Holmes, away. The Cipher group is back and active, Wes calls up the old team, and Shinichi and Ran decide to leave their hometown to follow Wes and Rui and kick some evil butt. xXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXx If I select a few stories from my list of Favorites, I say Mangaluva's "When Pandora's Box Is Opened" is a definite must to all DC-fans out there, it's yet again another version of the ending to the DC series out of many but it twists in with Magic Kaito perfectly and makes incredible sense and is simply breath-taking. You won't regret reading this one. "Mayonaka" co-written by Dragon-sama and White Mage Koorii is a very angsty KaiShin fic but also extremely well-written and tugs at your heart because you can feel what the characters are feeling. "Synaesthesia" by s2lou is also very well-written and a very sweet Kaito/Aoko fic. And if you like crack, read "The Donut Soul". That must be the most awesome oneshot I've ever had the chance to read XDDD All things in this world are like two sides of a coin, | |||||||
