Since my profile was sad and lame I decided it was time for a bit of actual effort. (And since I am at work and have nothing to do, you all suffer the consequences.)
I’m Bella! I’m a 20 year old college student with far too many things to do, and yet I still keep finding more things that I want to attempt. Go figure. I’m horribly new to writing, I have to admit, but I’ve always been a fan of reading and quality fiction in any form, so at least that’s something. I’m currently studying History, but my major switches constantly because there isn’t really a recommended degree for writing comic books. Oh well. My time is pretty much spent going to college, working, doing assignments for college, working, not-sleeping-because-of-something-for-college, soaking up various forms of fiction, procrastinating and now, I guess, fanfiction. Because it is addictive.
I have ideas for a few one-shots that are swimming around in my head for various fandoms and pairings, but currently I am working on two (hopefully epic) chapter fics, Ninjutsu & Love and Ozymandias, and am piecing together ideas to maybe create a partner piece to Leisure, Comfort, Calm.
Leisure, Comfort, Calm: Ino/Sakura. I really wanted to write something with Ino and Sakura (so much subtext! I love it!) coming together as adults, when they have grown up a bit…. And then it turned into them growing up and surviving a war and got a little bit more intense than I had originally planned. This is pretty much Ino-centric, and I am hoping to write a partner piece that is Sakura-centric.
Ninjutsu & Love: Ino/Sakura. This is the first fic I have ever written and actually posted, and unfortunately I think that is reflected in the first few chapters. However, I have a lot of ideas for the story and I’m working hard to try and improve my writing, so I’m hoping it comes together and that I can pull it around into something cool. (So if I am slow updating, its not lack of interest or that it has been abandoned, but that I am trying desperately to make it better.)
Ozymandias: I think this fic needs a little more explaination than the previous two… Basically, it’s a lot of fun. It’s a collaboration project with Feilyn (and is posted on her profile) and a crossover of Naruto and Bleach. I know what you’re thinking – “a collab AND a crossover? Ye gods! Spare me!” But! Hear me out on this one. We have put an insane amount of time and effort into planning, and we are really really excited about it. We also have amazing help in the form of Philyra and poptate who have created amazing zanpakutos for all the Naruto characters who are in the fic. Seriously – it is amazing to have so many people who are enthusiastic involved, and I think its having a really awesome impact on the story itself. Okay, I’m sounding totally pompous, but if enthusiasm alone is anything to go by then I think its worth checking out. As previously mentioned it is posted on Feilyn’s profile, and you can find her in my Favorite Authors section. A little more about the story itself, which I am stealing from Feilyn because I am lazy:
The title comes from the poem 'Ozymandias', written by Percy Bysshe Shelley
I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them on the sand,
Half sunk, a shatter'd visage lies, whose frown
And wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamp'd on these lifeless things,

And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"

The lone and level sands stretch far away
Wikipedia says it best - 'Without directly stating it, Shelley shows that all works of humankind - including power structures and governments - eventually must pass into history, no matter how permanent they may seem at the apex of their influence.'
This theme of Ozymandias carries through to the power struggles in both Bleach and Naruto, so we thought it was rather apt to use it as a title. Finding a title actually did give us huge problems, because Naruto and Bleach are so epic. Blaruto or Neach doesn't quite have the same ring. (I personally still rather like Blaruto though, if only because it isfun to say.)
All right. So. Ozymandias is indeed set in the Bleach world, because the Naruto abilities merge there better than zanpakuto would slide into Naruto. However, the charcters have not simultaneously died and gone to Soul Society, and we're not only using Naruto and a few select other characters. We are writing this story as if Bleach and Naruto are one, in the Bleach world. We have merged the plots of these two epic stories into one, which means a few things have had to be left out for plot and character's sake, and new things have come about. It's not a simple rehashing of the two stories. Me and Feilyn really have put a huge amount of effort into this to make sure it comes off as a plausible, well-rounded fic like any other she and I have written.
In conclusion (because I really am that pompous)…
I can’t think of anymore to say (I’m not that interesting :P) so here is what I think is really the most important thing:
I have encountered some amazing writers on here, some of whom I am lucky enough to get to talk to and interact with fairly regularly. I am hoping that prolonged e-proximity will allow me to absorb some of their talent. (Seriously, these people are epic.)
