Author has written 12 stories for Harry Potter, Torchwood, Heroes, Kyou Kara Maou, Naruto, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Buffy X-overs, Doctor Who, and Stargate: SG-1. I hereby swear to review any and every fic that I complete, that I add to my favorites list, or that I enjoy. Join the reviewer revolution! _ Hello! As this is a profile, I will take this opporunity to briefly introduce myself. Feel free to scroll past this entirely uninteresting bio. On all websites I'm currently active on I go by the same name- so if you see a Phlogistics, it's more than probably me. Say hi! (Because- with all sincerity- I've actually always really wanted somebody I don't know to just randomly send me a message on the internet. It seems like it could be funny. Or creepy if I can't figure out how they found my e-mail address. :D) I mostly write one-shots, though the fandoms I like and am active in are actually quite numerous and varied. I just don't write in all of them. I'm terrible at updating multi-chaptered fics, so no matter how many plot bunnies bite at my ankles, I try to resolve not to actually post anything until I've got something written beyond the first chapter. Normally. But sometimes I will write them out- and who know? Maybe someday I'll actually post something of significant length. I'm a proud geek. I love anime, manga, books, television, movies, music, art, fanfiction... I'm deeply involved in fandom, and am a regular attendee at Anime Boston. I write fanfiction not because I'm particularly creative when it comes to writing, but because I want to spend more time with characters and their relationships. My main goal in writing is to keep people in character, with the only exception being in really wacky humor that is a stretch to imagine in ANY fandom. I'm a fan of all types of pairings (yaoi, yuri, and het), and I have different OTPs in different fandoms that belong to each category. I'm a sucker for most canon couples, though I'll occasionally find myself bothered by ones that pop up later in a series, or that don't seem to have any legitimate chemistry. ...I can't really think of much else relevant to say. So now I'll share my favorite profile post-it, the only one I've seen that I'd ever want to put in my own profile: Gay marriage: 1) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, liposuction and air conditioning. 2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall. 3) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract. 4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal. 5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Brittany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed. 6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children. 7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children. 8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America. 9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children. 10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans. Copy and paste this if you believe that gay marriage should be legalized, and that all people, no matter their color, creed, religion, preference, or circumstance, have the same natural rights that Thomas Jefferson wrote of in the Declaration of Independence: to experience "Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happyness." -- Current pet peave: Character bashing, and the OOCness that directly corresponds to it. Seriously, people, stop misrepresenting characters just so you can make your plot "flow." If you need to butcher characters' personalities to make your fic work, than it's not a fic that needs to be written. | |||||||||||
