I'm Jess.

Random, irrelevant facts about me:

I watch True Blood religiously.
Despite the fact that reality TV is trash, I cannot keep myself from watching it.
I am a book nerd. I'll read almost any fiction. Except for fluffy romance (I went through my Johanna Lindsay/Lisa Klepas stage. It was short lived.) -- I usually prefer the harder stuff. Not much Sci-Fi either.
Historical fiction, Paranormal Romance, and Horror are my favourite genres. (Think J.R Ward, Karen Marie Moning, Stephen King, David Wellington, Gena Showalter, Nalini Singh, Philippa Gregory)
I am now a genuine, incurable slash fiend. That being said, I am a loyal Harry/Draco shipper. I'm converting all of my friends :)
I have this talent for picking out other people's grammatical errors though I know I probably miss alot of my own.

Harry Potter Fanfiction Addict since 2006

Obviously I love to read. Fanfictions, blogs, novels etc. Fanfiction though, is an addiction I just can't shake and it quite often causes me to neglect my "responsibilities"

I also love writing, but I don't do well with due dates/time frames. My issues with procrastination and writers block is what is keeping me from getting anything up on this account. But I am trying!

But when I do post something it will be in the Harry Potter universe. Which I firmly believe trumps Twilight. No contest.
--Yes, I did read Twilight. Personally, I loved the first book, and absolutely hated Breaking Dawn. Bella having a baby sucked. Bella naming her baby Renesmee made it worse. Having Jacob, Bella's original 'love interest', IMPRINT on Renesmee, just destroyed it. Plus there's the fact that the entire book builds up to nothing. No climax whatsoever.
But that's all I'll say on Twilight. :)

I mostly try to disregard JKR's epilogue because I believe it is totally unrealistic. Too happily-ever-after for my tastes. I honestly don't think Harry and Ginny should have stayed together. OR Hermione and Ron for that matter.

Basically, I think Hermione is WAY too smart for Ron. And I think Ron would eventually go insane from Hermione's controlling and bossy nature.
I think Harry got together with Ginny after the war because he felt comfortable with her and had known her forever. She was always there, was supportive through school, and I figure that he knew his marriage with her would be safe, and predictable. (Something he wasn't used to?) But I think as Harry finally is able to grow and live following the war, that their personalities will clash. Or maybe they'd just get sick of each other. I dunno. I just don't feel they 'click' as a couple. But I do know that even if Harry was unhappy, he wouldn't break up with Ginny on his own. His pride combined with his love for Ginny as a good friend and her family, wouldn't allow him to do it. There needs to be something (someone) to break them up :)

I am a complete Draco Malfoy supporter. I feel he is portrayed incorrectly in both the movies and the books. I do not picture him as wimpy or cowardly. I think he can be a snarky prat, but also intelligent, strong, and gorgeous. I love fics where he grows out of his 'git' phase, and gets with Harry :D

Since I first started reading fanfiction, my favourite pairings have changed, which is evident if you see my fav. stories list.

There's some Hermione/Snape and Dramione (my first OTP). Then, you can see that I discovered slash --Thank you, Cheryl Dyson who, if you haven't read her stuff, writes AMAZING HD fics-- because there are now a shtload of Drarry and Siremus on the page.

If you like any of the following pairings, check out my Fav. Stories list. Those stories are all fantastic. IMO.

RECs - Will probably be updated and/or changed regularly.

Harry/Draco:

Bond by Anna Fugazzi - must read!! Probably the best bond-fic I've ever read!

Lomonaaeren:

A Year's Temptation -
A post-Hogwarts, DracoVeela fic.
Soldier's Welcome - Just started reading this one. Well-written Drarry with a twist. Apparently, it's going to be a trilogy!!

ANYTHING by Cheryl Dyson - I loved the Nervous trilogy, High Priced, Polyjuice Pasttime in particular
Escorts - (I'm currently on the third part--each one gets even better)

Eclipse by Mijan: - Interesting plot. Long, fantastically written, well thought out. Brilliant. What more can I say? Read it.

maxfaith:
The Ties that Bind Us
- Very hot one shot/Harry and Draco get bound together.
The Small Print - A hilarious AND steamy one-shot. Very entertaining, but I was mortified for Draco at that part...

Draco's Boy by empathetic siren - I'm not usually into non-magic fics but I really, really enjoyed this. Draco and Harry CAN get together believably without the aid of a external magical 'force'.

Sirius/Remus:

It Was Only a Kiss! by remuslives23 Very cute story
Casting Moonshadows by Moonsign AMAZING fic that focus on the developing friendship (and eventual relationship) of Sirius and Remus spanning from their childhoods, through their Hogwarts years. The FULL story of how the Marauders came to be. Fills in a lot of blanks left by Rowling with fantastic plot that could be straight out of the novels. Except for the slash pairing--But that's what makes it even better :)

Hermione/Draco:

Dragon's Bride by Rizzle - beautifully written, intense. For those who love long fics
Broken by inadaze22 a lovely angst-filled story

Eden by obsessmuch -Hermione/Lucius - One of my favourite fics. An angsty, doomed love story. I have a thing for the "impossible" pairings.

It still amazes me how many great new stories I stumble across on ff.net even though I have been reading fanfiction for years. Enormous thanks and gratitude to all the brilliant authors who've put so much effort and time into their stories that I've had the pleasure of reading. If not for you, I would lack my favourite reading material.
