Basic Character Sketch: Tara Reynolds

The name is Caitlyn. Although online I am always, and probably always will be YoSafBridge (or occasionally YoSaffBridge)

About the nickname: YoSafBridge, or Yolanda Saffron Bridget, is a character in the short lived television series "Firefly". I chose the name for the simple fact that it sounded cool. But it's come in quite handy since then for weeding out true Browncoats, and also because very few people know about it and so I can register for websites without running into that annoying "Sorry that name has been taken" thing, I can't stand putting numbers in my nicknames so it's useful to have a constant one that I don't have to use numbers in.

About Me: I'm a 18 year old girl from the vicinity of Betelgeuse (or Texas...but doesn't the first one sound much cooler?) I'm known for making random pop culture references, because that's how my brain works. There is a great possibility that you found out about me because I sent you a review in which I threatened your life/health, or sent you a random e-mail declaring my undying love for you. This is normal. My lifes goal is to be abducted by aliens or to meet a ghost...or at least write a best selling novel or act in a movie about being abducted by aliens or meeting ghosts. My second goal is to meet Bruce Campbell. That one does seem more reasonable...

About my fics:

I try not to write for the same fandom twice. I want to try my hand at as many different things as possible! So my stories sometimes vary wildly, from fluff to comedy to angst to horror. I've written a fic for every rating (except for that little kid one, but I'll get there someday!) and have even tried on different types of poetry. I've tried writing from guys and girls POV (though I rather prefer guys) and tried creating my own characters (most of those have not been posted online yet as I still need to work out their kinks...) and I never know what I'll try next. I excel at one-shots because I'm very ADHD and if I don't get it all out in one or two sittings there is a chance I won't be able to complete it at all!

About my psychological problems: I enjoy several things in my fics: I enjoy my character getting beat on. As long as they don't die I love reading about angst (although I rather enjoy the Hurt/Comfort genre the most) and 2. I often prefer platonic relationship stories to romances. I love best friends and I love brother/sister relationships the most! Especially when the two involved in the relationship aren't actually brother and sister (like Kitty and the rest of the X-Men or Kaylee and Malcolm) although I love it when they are actually related as well (Simon and River)

I also have an affinity for father/daughter (once again, in which the two aren't actually related but still form that bond) relationships (such as Giles/Buffy)

But most of all I love reading about close friendships. I'm not a fan of the whole "They're close, therefore it must be romantic mindset" as I prefer the idea that a guy and a girl (excluding Mulder and Scully, they're just meant for each other) or two guys can just love each other, truly, unconditionally, and in a completely platonic way. There is less of a problem when it comes to two woman being best friends, but when it's two guys suddenly people go slash crazy on this site!

About my favourite things: when the dog bites, when the bee stings...when I'm really bored and decide to pop in a dvd or flip open a book, these are a few of my favourite things. (and yeah, I'm gonna mix 'em all up and let you decide whether it's the book, movie, band, miscellaneous thing or television show...because I'm quirky and bored) The Frighteners, How I Met Your Mother, Spaced, Harry Potter, Queen, The Lord of the Rings, X-Men, Buffy, Firefly, 1984, Sweeney Todd, R2D2, Marvel Comics, Bruce Campbell in general, The Zombie Survival guide, Star Wars, The X-Files, Stargate SG-1, Monty Python (okay this one actually applys to all 5 categories), The Beatles, The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, The Evil Dead, Die Hard, Dead Like Me, Aerosmith, Nightcrawler in general, Pan's Labyrinth, Leon, Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog, The Hobbit, Angel, Blue Oyster Cult, Eddie Izzard...

About My Favourite Author/Stories:

Unlike some people, it takes A LOT to get into my favourites lists. Your story has to be truly amazing to make it! Usually I like a combination of good writing, clever plot and humour to even consider putting the story onto my favourites! Trust me, I would gladly reccommend every story on my favourites list for all to read, I love them that much. So if you made the favourites congratulations, you really impressed me. If you made my favourite Author DOUBLE Congratulations! I don't put Authors on there on the basis of one story...you have to impress me multiple times to be counted amoungst my favourites! My favourite author of all: Definitely BG Sparrow, she writes amazing stories for tons of different fandoms (that I happen to love) and therefore I will always read anything new that she writes.
