Author has written 11 stories for Legend of Zelda, and Smallville. Twenty-one year old male here. Since you've found me on this site, I suppose it should be obvious that reading/writing is a passion of mine. Slight update to the notice below - Well, I doubt any of my former readers will actually see this, but I thought I'd add a quick note here. Between my new responsibilities and the resulting hectic schedule, I haven't had much time to work on my new original story. The ultimate tale of woe for any writer. In any event, I popped back in here to remove my unfinished stories from the site. I'm doing this for two reasons: Firstly, I keep getting alerts on them and I really don't want people thinking that I'm coming back to finish them. I don't have the time. And secondly, I've decided I need to cannibalize sections of Cataclysm's Eve in order to jump start my original novel; therefore, I want to remove it from here so there isn't any confusion later on, as in, "Hey, haven't I read this somewhere before?" I will keep the slots open so that the reviews that were put up here in the past will stay there. Paranoid, I know, but hey, that's how I got to be a pretty good writer. Anyways, warm greetings to anyone who knows me that happens to stumble upon this. As for the new people, enjoy what I have here, as I likely won't get to chat with you directly. Important notice- As some may have realized, I've been on hiatus during the latter part of August. This was caused by a rather specific reason, but as it turns out, the result of what went down in my life is that my circumstances have more or less permanently changed. One of the effects of these events is that I'll no longer have the time to spend as a contributor to this site. Up until this point, I've taken great pains to be active and vocal both in writing and in interaction with fellow readers/writers, but I no longer possess that luxury. So, as of about the end of this week, I won't be responding to pms, reviews, etc. Now, before you get after me and start sending messages proclaiming the utter idiocy of this decision, please keep in mind that the original reason I started writing fanfics is because I had just finished my first novel of any true length (a multiple-year project no less) and couldn't decide what to write next. Fan fiction came as the need arose for me to keep my literary wits sharp, as well as the simply desire to write my own fanfics which had come from my regular perusal of other such works online. I point this out because along with the aforementioned situation, I've also finally come up with a few original ideas that could very well make for a couple of great novels. So, during what free time I have, I will be working on these. So, no, I'm not giving up writing. I just don't have time to give to this site AND continue to write my own work. Therefore, with great difficulty, I've come to the conclusion that I need to spend my time as wisely as possible. I'm not entirely sure what this means for Cataclysm's Eve, as I want to get started on these other stories while these new concepts are fresh in mind, but... Well, that's something about which I need to worry, not you. I want to take a minute to thank everyone here for their support and assistance during my time here: Davin gets credit for whipping my action scenes into shape, among the great deal of support, counsel, and fellowship he displayed; Seldavia, for making me re-evalute dialogue, plot, and various other points in my stories; CloudrunnerSparty, for all-around pummeling my writings and making sure they could stand the test by fire; the writer of Immortal's Heart (I could never remember your name, I apologize, and I can't seem to find it now...), for helping me to adjust the how of what I'm saying; Lost Sheikah, for making me laugh and always pointing out the best parts of my stories (along with the great conversations); Desteni, for her much-appreciated assistance, kindness, and awesome demeanor. Sweet Valentine gets a mention here, even though we didn't interact too much, merely because many of this writer's works served as inspiration for me in different ways. I'm sure there are more individuals I could mention, but I'll stop there. All of the ones listed above are great writers and deserve to have their works read, so if a new visitor to this site has somehow stumbled onto this page, you need to go check them all out, immediately. Trust me, even if I am a complete unknown to you, as this is the opinion of a somewhat experienced writer. As for me, I'll leave my writing up here, both so that fans can return to them when they wish and new readers have something to read that has, in my opinion, a fair amount of quality. I apologize to the latter group in advance, as I most likely will not be replying to any reviews you might choose to leave. Since I seem to have the teaching bug, I have one last thought. Remember to rely on your fellow writers. You will not be able to grow as a writer (or, in fact, as anything else) if you do not use the strengths of the people 'around' you. It is not a weakness to do so. In fact, those who think they can do everything themselves are the truly weak, because when they finally meet up with a challenge that goes beyond their individual power, they'll find they have nothing else on which rely and will fail miserably. One last thought. I've noticed, through my admittedly limited experience, that the Japanese word sayonara, one we're fairly familiar with in the States, is actually a term that isn't used often in the Japanese language. It is reserved for occasions when the separation between two individuals is to be extremely long, or perhaps even permanent. (Desteni will tell you all if I'm wrong on this point, heh, but I don't think I am.) In any event, based on my understanding, I believe it would be fitting to end this note simply with: Arigato-gozaimasu. Sayonara! For interested parties: This following rule was originally given at the start of my profile, but since I feel it should apply to everyone, I'm leaving it on here in spite of the above declarations. When it comes to reviews, I love constructive criticism. My writing can be strung out on the torture rack for all you want. As long as it makes me a better writer, I’m all for it. Just, if you are going to tell me what to fix, give me a specific example from said story so I can actually take a look at it. I've fallen prey to this tendency myself, but trust me, telling a writer to fix something but not showing him what caused you to feel that way doesn't really help. So, maybe instead of asking for constructive criticism, I should be asking for useful criticism. Disclaimer: I do not own any of the settings, characters, genres, etc. that I use in my stories, unless it is explicitly obvious that I've created my own character, place, etc. All I own is the telling of the stories. Latest Updates- See above. Story Notes- Just some things, mostly on my Zelda stories... I've established a sort of post-TP canon for my stories, meaning that each one is designed to complement and feed off the next. However, because I didn't plan this, not consciously anyway, the timing given in some of the stories is off. So, I'll just tell you the order the stories should be read and simply let you know that a minimum of two years has to go by for the timing to work. So, disregard the time frame given in some of the stories and follow this note instead... The timeline: The Art of Affection, Twilight's Requiem, The Grip of Despair, Phoenix, Matters of the Heart, Resolve, and The Same Coin. A minor note on songfics. Music serves as a major inspiration for my writing and the reason I have a few songfics up here is simply to showcase this. I don't use the lyrics to explain the story or serve as dialogue. They simply add an extra nuance to my fiction. The Author Notes should explain everything else you might want to know about my stories. | |||||||
