Author has written 131 stories for Yu-Gi-Oh, Sonic the Hedgehog, Yu-Gi-Oh GX, and Good Omens. Welcome~ For the most part I'm not much of a writer. I have a few drabbles for various pairings I like but that's about all. If you want serious writing then there are many other brilliant people out there to look at. I've been working at writing a bit more lately however, so if something takes your fancy feel free to sit down and have a read. To most people online I'm known as Sam Cyber Cat, Sam_CC or just Sam. Those first two are the names you can probably find me as on various websites. I'm a huge fan of Kazuki Takahashi's creation Yu-Gi-Oh, liking most aspects of the series, along with Yu-Gi-Oh GX, and am just starting to watch Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds. The main things I'm obsessed with from Yu-Gi-Oh DM are Yami/Seto and Anzu Mazaki, both of which I enjoy discussion on. While in GX my favourite character is Ryo Marufuji and my favourite pairing is Ryo/Fubuki. Unfortunately I avoid some of the more popular themes in the fandoms like Yami/Hikari pairings or Fubuki/Yusuke so you won't find much about those in my stories unless otherwise stated. However if you can overlook that then I'm sure we can get along well. I used to be a fan of the Sonic the Hedgehog series but the fandom has been spoiled for me over the years. However, I am still a fan of SatAM, Fleetway, Archie and SU with my obsessions being Sonic/Sally and Sally Acorn. Favourite Characters: Yu-Gi-Oh: Anzu Mazaki, Yami no Yuugi, Rebecca Hopkins, Seto Kaiba, Honda Hiroto, Shizuka Kawai, Miho Nosaka, Pegasus J. Crawford, Insector Haga. Favourite Couples: Yu-Gi-Oh: Yami/Seto, Yuugi/Anzu, Honda/Jounouchi, Mokuba/Rebecca, Malik/Ryou, Miho/Anzu, Mai/Shizuka, Haga/Ryuzaki, Otogi/Noa, Pegasus/Otogi. This is the part of the profile where I give you a bit more in-depth information about my views on fanfiction. Feel free to skip this part over if you don’t care for the waffle. If you do want to know more however, then read on. When it comes to writing I mostly enjoy writing one-shots of little romances or character development pieces. The characters and pairings in my favourites sections are far from the only ones that I will write about, there are many more that aren’t listed here. Sometimes I’ll even write characters I don’t particularly enjoy, just because getting into their heads is interesting. Also, when I’ve completed the gx_100 I do intend to work on at least one multi-chaptered story. At this point it will most likely be “The Death and Life of Zane Truesdale”, early drafts of which are included in both “Images of Genex” and “Images of Duel Monsters”, though the product has changed a lot since those were written. Almost all of my planned multi-chaptered works will be set in alternate universes. Some of which will ignore parts of the canon, so if this bothers you than I advise not reading those projects. As for reading fanfics I’ll admit that I don’t do nearly as much of this as I should. Not because I feel my work is better than what’s out there by any stretch of the imagination, but mostly due to time restrictions and cautiousness of what I may come across. In general I prefer to read works on subjects I like, such as Anzu Mazaki, Ryo Marufuji, Klavier Gavin, Aziraphale, Sally Acorn, Yuugi/Anzu, Ryo/Fubuki, Apollo/Klavier, etc. And I do live under the constant denial that one day maybe someone who isn’t me will write FuRyo. It’s a happy denial. As for what I avoid that tends to be pairings I don’t enjoy, such as Yami/Yuugi, Bakura/Ryou, Seto/Kisara, Yusuke/Fubuki, Ryo/Edo, Juudai/Asuka, Fubuki/Momoe, The Doctor/Rose and Sonic/Amy. Just because I don’t enjoy these themes does not mean I have anything against those who write them, they’re just not for me personally. Having said that I did come across some huge drama involving two fans of the character Yusuke Fujiwara over a year ago. Because of the drama I avoid this character as a whole, though I have no disrespect to his fans. It is unlikely he will feature in my works. Now for the ‘policy on fanfics’ bit. Canon and fanon are both respectable ways of writing, and I enjoy each of them. Writing fanfiction is something to do in a person’s free time, and something they do because they enjoy it. Under no circumstances do I think it is all right to insult an individual because of how they write. This is a website for people of all ages and skill levels, a fact that I think some people do forget. Younger writers may write about themes that aren’t to everyone’s liking, but if you look into yourself I’m sure that you’ll find that at their age you were doing something similar. If you hurt those young writers now they may be prevented from growing into great writers tomorrow. Everyone deserves a chance. If you don’t like their work, leave it alone. Your opinion on a story is yours alone, and others may enjoy what you do not. Alongside that I don’t feel that everyone should be forced to write exactly as the canon is. That’s what fanfiction is, it’s your own thoughts on a series. There may be parts of a series that an author wants to portray differently, and they are allowed to do this. Personally I try to write stories that fit in with the canon, but sometimes I will make changes to create an interesting story. Though I don’t enjoy most OC based stories I respect that people have a right to create them, and I can simply avoid what I don’t want to read. Never will I post a wholly negative review. Sometimes I may leave crit in a review, but if the author doesn’t want to take my advice than that is their choice and doesn’t bother me. If I don’t like something at all then I won’t review it, that way works best for me. But regardless of feeling people should be able to write what they want I do draw the line with bashing. Character bashing is inexcusable and shows disrespect to those who like the themes you’re bashing. Anzu Mazaki is Yuugi’s childhood friend who protected him from bullies; she is NOT a monster who beats up Yuugi for getting in the way of her being with Yami. Similar terms apply to Sally Acorn, Martha Jones, Rei Saotome and countless other bashed characters. There is a difference between writing a character going through hardship and outright beating up that character for your own amusement. The latter will stop me from reading your fanfics at all. When it comes to character ‘names’ I’m not picky at all. Both sub and dub are fine for me, so I really don’t mind whether you spell it ‘Juudai’, ‘Judai-kun’, ‘Jyuudai’ or ‘Jaden’. Skills of a writer are not measured based on what they call the characters. Personally I tend to use the Japanese names without suffixes such as ‘san’ or ‘chan’, but a dubfic may appear in my account from time to time. Also, my grammar is UK English because that is where I come from and is easiest for me to work with. That’s all I can think to add at the moment. When more presents itself I will update this description. Perhaps when I’m more active I’ll even do an “updates” section so you can see my progress, but not for the moment.
