Author has written 18 stories for Harry Potter, CSI: Miami, NCIS, and Step Up.

Hey, I'm Alison or Alli, I'm a 20-year-old fun-loving girl from Scotland with a passion for reading and writing and life!! I'm a university student finished my second year of studying French and Italian, with modules in Social Anthropology and Latin, at the University of St Andrews, therefore permanently skint, but hey, that's all part of the experience! I've just spent a year in the south of France working as an English language assistant in a school, before going back to uni for 2 more years to get my degree, but right now I can picture me heading back much sooner ... If only for the improvement in climate! I did miss my friends like crazy but I got some brilliant life experience and I got to travel a lot. The whole experience has really broadened my horizons, which was amazing, and I'm hoping to bring some of that experience to my writing when I get back into it. I've been remiss in not updating lately as real life has gotten a lot more interesting and I've found myself facing new and more urgent challenges, but that's not to say I won't come back to writing some day in the not too distant future. Keep an eye out for updates if you're interested anyway, and expect them when you see them! Other than that I'll definitely still be around, reading and hopefully reviewing and enjoying the talents of other writers on this site.

Fiction Summary

So as we probably all know by now, I'm not the best at updating my fics regularly, and I do apologise. Life is so unpredictable that I don't like to promise more than I can give, but I know there are a lot of readers out there waiting to find out if and when I'm ever going to update. So here is a list of all my fics, published, and some unpublished ones that are more than just ideas, and their completion or estimated completion dates. These may change depending on how life goes, but this is the best guess I can give at the moment, so I hope it's useful to some of you :)

A little more about me ...

Favourite books? Oh, let me think - all of them! I love classics by authors such as Jane Austen (Pride and Prejudice and Persuasion, in particular); Emily Bronte (Wuthering Heights); Charlotte Bronte (Jane Eyre); Gustave Flaubert (Madame Bovary); Thomas Hardy (Tess Of The D'Urbervilles, The Mayor Of Caster Bridge); Louisa May Alcott (Little Women); Tennessee Williams (A Streetcar Named Desire, Sweet Bird Of Youth); Margaret Mitchell (Gone With The Wind); along with some fantasy like C.S. Lewis (The Chronicles of Narnia); JRR Tolkein (The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Silmarillion); JK Rowling (the Harry Potter series); cult classic literature like Jack Kerouac (On the Road), Hunter S. Thompson (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas), George Orwell (1984, Animal Farm), Aldous Huxley (Brave New World - if you don't know it, read it!), Albert Camus (L'Etranger, La Peste), Iain Banks (Espedair Street above the Wasp Factory any day, sorry guys); and some more modern authors such as Tess Gerritsen (The Surgeon and all the rest in the Rizzoli/Isles series), Mary Higgins Clark (I Heard That Song Before and While My Pretty One Sleeps are my favourites by her), Karen Rose (Die For Me and all in the same series), Harlan Coben (Tell No One and The Woods, at the moment) and Stephen King (All work and no play and all that ;) ).

So, yeah, I love a bit of everything, really! I'm especially into the cult stuff I guess - others I adore for relaxing, but gotta love me some Clockwork Orange to procrastinate doing real work ;) But I love talking about literature and as you can see I've read a wide variety - that's a very small selection - so feel free to get in touch if you want!

TV and film-wise I'm much the same - anything and everything most of the time. Not keen on Star Trek style stuff, but most other things are either amazing, good or bearable :P Oh, but Friends, NCIS, the West Wing and the X-Files really do rule all!

The icon to the left and up a bit is by me, so don't worry, I'm not stealing other people's artwork without crediting ;)

I love to shop; I love to talk; I love to see my friends as much as possible; I love reading and writing anything and everything; I love music of all varieties; I love nights out, drinking, dinner and dancing all included; I love my country; and more than anything else I love being me. You got it right, folks - you want to talk insecure? I've been on the grand tour, done all the activities, and had a bonfire with all the T-Shirts I bought. Why live life wishing you were different? You are who you are for a reason, and learn to love it. Embrace it. You ARE beautiful!!

Send me a message if you ever want to chat, because I adore meeting new people, and ... yup, I'm a bit mental, but wouldn't life be boring without a little spontaneity and craziness once in a while?! And trust me, I am full of both those things! So drop me a line if you ever want my opinion on anything, really, or just fancy a chat - and no, it doesn't bother me if you want to bug me about updating my fics, either. I really do need a swift kick in places I won't name at times! And I think that's all from me, so let me leave you with one of my favourite quotes:

"To live is to change, to change is to live, and not to change is to die ..." Tennessee Williams, Sweet Bird Of Youth

Live life. Love it. And above all else, remember to be yourself. Nobody's better at that than you, and nobody can take that away from you.

Alison :)
