My name is Bethany, or Beth to my friends. I'm 16, and live in England. I adore reading and writing, as should be obvious. I hope to write a novel over the course of next year; my current dream is to see it published. Maybe a six-figure deal might just see me through university, seeing as the Conservatives seem determined to grind anyone who isn't middle-class into the ground. Tales Of Storm Hound Two boys: one the timid son of a brutal leaguesman, the other with the blood of sky pirates running through his veins. Together, they are set on an unstoppable course of mystery and adventure in the corruption of Undertown. In the present: Ferax Nembellix is a young squire, struggling to be as honourable as his position requires, yet also to keep the nature of his family's rise and success a closely-guarded secret. The only person capable of helping him is a mysterious man known only as the Captain, who gives Ferax inspiration to turn to the side of good through the story of a sky pirate captain he once knew very well. A captain who was once a boy - a boy very much like Ferax himself. In the past: Rin Voltix is living in near-poverty in Undertown, the pay he gets as a sky-shipyard labourer only just enough to keep himself and his ailing mother with a roof over their head, enough food and phraxdust for clean water. When a suspicious man offers him a small fortune for simply delivering a letter, Rin ignores his instincts and agrees. After all, it's only a letter - what's the worst that could possibly happen when delivering a letter? Two boys, separated by time but alike in spirit. While Ferax takes heart from hearing Rin's tale, he has to wonder - what will happen to this boy, so like him and yet so different? And can he himself break free of his family and separate himself from their misdeeds before it is too late? | |||||||
