The Voice Mail Morrow: http://thevmmorrow.livejournal.com/ ... Very silly, very AU, a little naughty, but lots of fun for Artie and I!

(A spin off The Good Morrow)

Writing stuff...

'The Good Morrow' was in my head for nearly 4 years and after DH came out, I decided that enough was enough and that I really ought to just get it out of my system and put it in writing. I never expected the response it got, and I'm so thankful for everyone who read(s) it and reviews/ed! I am now in the process of editing it.

'Death by Champagne' is an AU, oneshot spinoff of TGM. (For a longer spinoff, check out the above link to 'The Voice Mail Morrow')

'The Kick Inside' was the result of a very random idea I had one evening. It's not for everyone, but I enjoyed writing it.

'Witchcraft by a Picture' is the prequel to TGM, but it is not necessary to have read TGM to read WbaP. It is my latest 'Work in Progress' and will probably the last work of fan fiction I ever publish up here (though I've said this before, so don't hold me to my word!)

Also, stay tuned for the release of my first original novel- 'Stained Glass' which is due to be published in Dec 09/Jan 10! For updates on the publishing progress, you can follow my anya-violetta LJ (just click the homepage link).

About me...

I'm 19 and live in Australia.

In my spare time, I sing opera, play and teach the violin, reception in dental clinic, and study medicine.

I love reading, watching movies, and good tv series.

John Donne is my favourite poet (if you hadn't noticed), Macbeth is my favourite play. I have too many favourite books, but none have captured my imagination nor given me the escape which the Harry Potter series has given me. I love classic novels. I used to love Pride and Prejudice, but now prefer the tragedy of Wuthering Heights.

I love tragedy- I'm Greek... but I hate fetta, olives and sardines.

I love too movies to name a favourite. My favourite tv shows at the moment are 'The Tudors' and 'Skins'.

Food and sex are my favourite topics of conversation- the two basic needs for the human race to survive.

My favourite opera is La Traviata. My most played piece of music is 'Miserere, Mei Deus' by Allegri, 'Sanctus' by Libera, and 'Jarusalem,' by Anuna.

Like most people doing medicine, I have OCD. Hence my obsessive writing habits. I wish the same could be said for my study habits...

I love writing more than anything else in the world. It not only gives me an escape from this world, but helps me understand myself and those around me. Writing has taught me more about the human psyche than any psychology or philosophy book or course ever could. Because of this, I can only write what I can relate to.

I wrote 50,000 words of the the first draft of my novel in 2 days. Writing something which I have no passion for can take me weeks.

I am almost always a few chapters ahead when I update. The quickest way to get me to update, is to review. I updated TGM on a daily basis.

So, without further ado, I bid you happy reading and would love to hear from you!

Lots and lots of love,

Anya

I was so touched when one of my readers, BrokenHeartBiret, told me that she had drawn what Helen Asteria looked like in her mind. Whether or not that's how I imagined her, it's a great drawing and made my heart go all warm and fuzzy to think that people existed who enjoyed my story that much. So, a big thanks to you, Em, and if anyone else is 'artsy' and feels like drawing something from the story, please let me know.

Here is the link to BrokenHeartBiret's drawing, check it out :)

I really do feel blessed. Another reader, Casie, drew a picture of Anka for me. As with Em, a HUGE thank you to you Casie. You are wonderful!

Here is John Donne's poem, 'The Good Morrow', a main source of inspiration for TGM:

The Good Morrow

I WONDER by my troth, what thou and I
Did, till we loved? Were we not wean'd till then?
But suck'd on country pleasures, childishly?
Or snorted we in the Seven Sleepers' den?
'Twas so; but this, all pleasures fancies be;
If ever any beauty I did see,
Which I desired, and got, 'twas but a dream of thee.

And now good-morrow to our waking souls,
Which watch not one another out of fear ;
For love all love of other sights controules,
And makes one little room an everywhere.
Let sea-discoverers to new worlds have gone;
Let maps to other, worlds on worlds have shown
Let us possess one world; each hath one, and is one.

My face in thine eye, thine in mine appears,
And true plain hearts do in the faces rest;
Where can we find two better hemispheres
Without sharp north, without declining west ?
Whatever dies, was not mix'd equally;
If our two loves be one, or thou and I
Love so alike that none can slacken, none can die.

~ John Donne

WITCHCRAFT BY A PICTURE.
by John Donne

I FIX mine eye on thine, and there
Pity my picture burning in thine eye ;
My picture drown'd in a transparent tear,
When I look lower I espy ;
Hadst thou the wicked skill
By pictures made and marr'd, to kill,
How many ways mightst thou perform thy will?

But now I've drunk thy sweet salt tears,
And though thou pour more, I'll depart ;
My picture vanished, vanish all fears
That I can be endamaged by that art ;
Though thou retain of me
One picture more, yet that will be,
Being in thine own heart, from all malice free.
