I think I'll type up a little something here (because I have homework to do, and I love to procrastinate any way I can).
So... Me... The Writer: I'm a high school student who's been writing since I could hold a pencil (maybe not quite ). In the fifth grade, I had a teacher who was so supportive of my writing. I loved reading her comments that she'd write at the end of my stories, both the compliments and the criticisms. I'm not here to become a better writer... not really (not that I mind improving!). I'm here to write, to share my visions of how I'd take different characters' lives. I haven't done much creative writing lately. These fanfictions are the only stories I've written for myself (out of class) in years, and in all honesty, I miss writing. So, here I am, typing up these lil' tales that just barely make sense.
Me... The Reader: Mainly, what I read is Hey Arnold! (actually, that's all I write too). Why? I dunno... Maybe I'm clinging to my childhood before I have to do that whole "growing up" thing, which apparently I've been doing for years (me? Growing up? Pshaw!). But, in all honesty, I'm persnickety in what I read. The writing style has to appeal to me, or else the storyline has to be somewhat compelling. I like stories that throw me through a whole range of emotions. Make me laugh one second and sob the next. Give me a hero to cheer for and a villain to hate. The world isn't a dreary hole where everyone and thing is against you, and it's not all fluffy-bunnies-eating-cotton-candy either. C'mon people! Give me a reason to put off my homework for another hour. =)
