I have recently started reading magna that my local library has and have found several i do and dont like, my library is so nice they actually ordered fruits basket through volume 17.
magna i loved are: fruits basket, and ouran high school host club. does anybody know where i can find more like these
magna i thought were ok are: wish, and tokyo mew mew (it was ok, but i couldnt get into it and stopped after volume 4), ranma (to much comedy couldnt get past volume 11, it is good as an xover with fruits basket)
magna i didnt like: chocolate
magna i'm currently reading: none, however i did read a few fanfiction xovers of inuyasha with either ouran or fruits so i've started watching the anime again. i never got to watch much of it before.
fruits basket favorite pairings: tohru/hatori, tohru/haru. i then like any except most akito stories, rin stories are ok but not usually with haru. yuki/aya is just plain wrong! i dont like kisa/hiro because if he keeps treating her like that she'll either leave him or have severe problems. how often can you be told everything and person you like is stupid and either not be affected by it or leave.
favorite ouran high school host club pairings: haruhi/mori, if well done then haruhi/kyouya, if not those two then any except the twins together thats just wrong!
since i cant write here are some things i would like to see in stories, just let me know when you write it. tohru mentioning to kyou, yuki, and maybe the others either obliviously or on purpose how she loves having so many 'brothers' in the sohma family, of course she wont list the one she likes as a brother. haruhi getting kidnapped by someone wanting money, they probably were watching one of the guys but then decided that kidnapping someone that six rich guys liked would probably get them more money without as much risk. she could easily be grabbed when shopping or something and unlike some of the guys doesnt know how to defend herself or have bodyguards.
hey does anybody agree with me on who the most evil person in fruits basket is? I think it's that servant woman. I mean she opposed Ren's marriage which i'm sure didnt help ren's possessivness. she deliberatly doesnt let ren know that akira is dying so ren could say goodbye, tells akito that akira's soul is in a box, lets ren know that akito has something that akira left to her, never tells anyone that akito is a girl (who do you think was changing akito's diapers not ren), leaves yuki alone with akito (i got the feeling she was the only one paying any attention to what akito was doing to yuki) and when akito finally realizes what she's done is wrong says that she prefered the way akito was before. basically this woman was a big part of akito's life and she just encouraged akito. I mean if nothing else she probably could have had ren put in a mental hospital, a video of how ren treated akito and the fact that ren beleived people could change into animals would have gotten her away and made her stop abusing akito.

I'm a 31 year old woman. I've read all my life, however I recently got netflix and started watching anime. Now usually i spend about 80-90 of my waking hours reading (romance, science fiction, fantasy, for the most part) then one day I watched the fruit baskets anime and sent it back to netflix. for some reason i couldnt stop thinking about fruits baskets and watched it twice again the same month. I also downloaded scans of the magna (which took a week on dial up) then found this site, since then all i've been reading is fruits basket stuff.
Now I'm a reader and have never been able to write, while reading stories during the last two weeks I've found out a few things about stories that I do and dont like (in no order).
1. one shots: I have found some very good ones that I like alot. however most oneshots seem to either be pieces of fluff that have no plot or I want to know a whole lot more. As i said earlier I read alot, so I dont usually review most of the oneshots unless i really like them and usually am begging for the author to write more.
2. yaoi: it surprised me, I've never read this before and I must admit that at first it was very startling. However now I like most of them (except the sibling incest ones)
3. Fruits basket the cat's cage: the anime and magna make the cat's cage that kazuma's grandfather was in look like a one room house with bars on the window, however alot of the fanfiction makes it alot worse. remember that kazuma's grandfather didnt look skinny, had candy to offer kazuma, and obviously knew what kazuma looked like. he also had his wife/girlfriend (kazuma's grandmother) who would visit him from time to time when he was in the cage. Although if you think about it I'm sure the cage under akito would be quite different than previous ones.
4. incomplete stories: i hate it when someone starts writing a story, and never finishes it. alot of the time they dont even list that they are no longer writing it which means i read it and then never find out the end.
5. completed stories: i actually do searches by character name for completed stories, so if you finished your story and didnt mark it as complete how am i supposed to find it (unless i clicked on the authors profile and somehow found it)
6. spelling and grammer: some common mistakes that bug me: except for accept, where for were, although as you see here when i'm typing i'm not really into pushing the shift key alot.
7. characters i dont like: rin, ren, and akito. I've read a few akito stories (mainly akito/tohru) and rarely are they done so that akito is mean and then becomes good in a believable way. most of them have some really bad things (rape & stuff) that i dont like. and if akito becomes good, then usually it just magically happens overnight. also most authors dont let you know if in their story akito is a girl or a boy until the middle. Now i dont really have a problem with akito's gender switching every other story, but i would like to know what to expect. Ren is just sick (she should have been in a mental institution within a year after akito's birth), and Rin is really messed up. I mean hurting your boyfriend to protect him is very strange thinking. Also as Rin wasnt seen much in the magna, i never really got to know her.
