| Bravo my Lady Grace |
Author has written 27 stories for Gemma Doyle Trilogy, Harry Potter, and NCIS. Hello. My name is Bravo. I am seveteen years old and my birthday in on the 23rd of July every year. I have long bronde hair and big bleen eyes and pale skin and pink lips and I don't care at all. It would be nice to be beautiful, but I'm not, and it's OK. I love colour and being young and laughing. I wear bright pink dresses and heart shaped sunglasses and a ribbon in my hair. I have fun with people I adore. Writing is what I enjoy more than anything else. It's nice to be lazy and watch television and lie in the sun and make promises we can't keep, but writing is a compulsion, for me. It's something I need. It comes naturally, and not many things do. I used to think I wanted to be an academic, a university professor, I used to think I wanted to spend the rest of my life studying and becoming as knowledgeable as I could. But really, I know it won't make me happy. I have a very romanticised view of life, and keep hoping that writing will fix everything. It won't, and I know it. But at the moment, it's OK. Daydreaming as vital as breathing, to me. It's something I do naturally, unconsciously, sometimes even unwillingly. It's where I come up with a lot of the things that go into my writing. The beauty in words and sentences is very important to me. If a sentence is clunky I can't live with it unless it's clunky in a delicate and endearing way. So many of the characters that one day I will write about exist absolutely in my mind right now, and have done for years. They're incredibly real to me, and entirely independent of my own thoughts. This might be the symptom of a psychological disorder, but these people make me so very happy that I enjoy it, whatever it is. I'm pretty lucky to live where I live, which is near Oxford but far enough out in the countryside for me to be able to go and sit in meadows and under trees and near water and look at light. There's a big old manor house near where I live, and although it's technically tresspassing, whenever I need to fuck right off I go and cycle all round there. It's probably my favourite place in the world, at the moment. Interesting fact about me: Even though I am completely English, born and raised in Oxfordshire (home of the cut-glass accent), never been to Australia, no Australian friends/family/connections, I occasionally drift into a completely Australian twang, to the extent that people who don't know me well have been known to ask me what region of Down Under I'm from, when I moved over here and whether I've noticed a cultural divide. It happens completely accidentally and I don't notice half the time. It's odd. Another thing: I do REALLY good accents in general, actually. Specialities include Australian, Scottish, French, Italian, Polish, South African and American. There are many places I want to visit and things I want to do in my life. Here's a selection: Live in Jerusalem, Jaffa and Tel Aviv and learn to speak fluent Hebrew. Live in Paris and have a love affair. Live in India and teach. Visit America, live in New York and have a road trip. Go somewhere where life is tough, and help people. Live in a car for a significant amount of time. Own a yellow hippy van, as seen in Little Miss Sunshine. Fall in love with a worthy man, or woman (cough Michael Weatherly cough). Find a secluded, beauty spot and turn it into my own little paradise (think Dave adverts and you'll get the general picture). Enjoy each day as it comes. Appreciate the weather, sunsets, people and events. Live. Like I said. A selection. A very intelligent boy who wore corduroy and cashmere once told me that I reminded him too much of Esther Greenwood, and that it scared him. I'm glad it did. He's moved away now, and I miss him. At the moment I'm studying for my A levels, in English, Philosophy, History and French. But I don't particularly like school. I much prefer thinking and dreaming and watching NCIS. But more than anything, I love to write. And I hope you can like some of my stuff. NCIS Number One - Changed my Userpic in celebration of the imminent Tiva. It's coming and it will be spectacular. With regards to Tiva- probably the biggest Tiva-shipper you will EVER find. They're both so fractured and broken and the only thing that will mend them is each other. Tiva athems - At the moment, Halo by Beyonce,Crash Into Me by The Dave Matthews Band and Swans by Unkle Bob (BRILLIANT Tiva video of this on Youtube, search for 'NCIS You tell me that you love me'. Depressing though). Weird fact- When I started watching NCIS which was only like a year ago now, I had THE biggest crush on Gibbs, and I was completely 'meh' about Tony. Oh, how things have changed. Important thing about me - I want to write for a living. I've considered having a 'proper' job as well but I honestly know it will never work out. Me and nine to five are about as compatible as Palmer and Ziva (don't even THINK about it). So when I'm on here it's genuine practice for the future. Another important thing about me - I get obsessed very, very easily. Like...counting minutes obsessed. Getting up at ungodly hours just to see the illegal internet version of the latest episode AS SOON AS IT IS UPLOADED obsessed. My friends are very patient when it comes to me and ceaseless, repetitive blathering about Tiva. At the moment, whether it should be or not, it's the most important thing. And the season 7 premiere made me cry more than anything, ever, before. Even when people died. It's shocking, but true. I don't think she's ever been so beautiful. And the bathroom kiss. Oh my. (On a slightly more lighthearted joke, did anyone else start laughing hysterically at the weird yodelling noise Tony was making whilst he peed?) Neshomeleh, sharlila, hakol beseder b'eli haseder. Sweetheart, whore, there is order in the chaos. Le probleme, c'est que je t'aime. The problem is that I love you. Writer Survey-ish thing. Estimated number of stories written: Since I was a kid, it's been about 400. Most of them awful, underdeveloped and unfinished (thankfully). But since I've been posting on here, first as part of the GDT, and then for NCIS, I've got a lot better. All in all...I don't know, actually...oh. It's 25. Longest story was (how long): Hmm. Possibly Silk and Diamonds, although maybe A Quiet Defiance. Shortest story was (how long): Some of my drabbly one-shots. Possibly And When Did You Last See Your Father? Preferred genre: Romance, friendship, hurt and comfort, angst, family. Ocasionally tragedy, when I'm feeling cruel. Weird habits when you’re writing: Always the weirdest selection of music (right now it's Bollywood, song named Kuch Kuch Hota Hai - SOMEONE GET THE NCIS REFERENCE!! - but last week it was some Swedish tinkly stuff), coffee on tap, incense a-burning, pile of homework mocking me on the side of my desk. Word processor or notebook?: I've had a notebooky thing from the age of about 12/13 to write down random thoughts, dialogue, ideas in, but this isn't ONLY for fanfiction. It's for when I'm older, when I (hopefully) get to be a published writer. But Word, ALWAYS Word, for fanfictioning. Open/Private about writing?: Everyone knows I do it, and some of my friends know where to find me, but I'm incredibly private when it comes to discussing MY stuff/showing MY stuff to other people, ESPECIALLY my family. Published?: Fanfiction only. Favorite fandom: NCIS. Totally. Favorite story: I can't choose A favourite. Some of the stuff by dress without sleeves, AutumnGray, tigerlily25 and EmyPink is AMAZING but I literally CANNOT choose a fave story. Favorite line: Wayyy too many. Writing music?: Ha, mentioned before. Really, anything. Apart from screamo death metal/hopelessly goth stuff. But, I mean, I like a LOT of Abby's music, so go figure :) At the moment, I'm really into Israeli rap (Hadag Nahash, courtesy of Ziva in Season 5). Hardest to write: Um. It depends, a lot, on my current mood. But probably as a general rule, humour. It's so individual to everyone and tbh I just prefer heart-breaking flangst. Easiest to write: Tiva, all the way. Tony and Ziva seperately as well. McGee is middling, with Abby. Gibbs is dificil. Pet peeves in others’ writing: Bad spelling, bad grammar, 'selfish' writing (as in, if you're in love with Tony you bring in a character that makes no sense, doesn't fit and is practically a replica of yourself, and somehow Tony falls madly in love with her, just for pure self-gratification. No one else wants to read it). When the plot seems contrived, mostly... Prefer 1st, 2nd, or 3rd person?: I generally tend to write in...hmm. First and third, I think, are the best/easiest for me (and for most people). But 2nd is REALLY interesting, when it's done right. Ever created a Mary Sue?: I literally have NO idea what a Mary Sue is. Which is hardest to write—beginning, middle or end?: Probably endings. I hate ending things. But sometimes, with the middle, it's difficult to keep up the poeticness/beauty of it all and it ends up sinking into mediocrity (yeah. That sounds arrogant, and I don't mean for it to). But also - beginnings. So lol. Best thing about writing/being a writer: The amazing reviews. Being told you're actually GOOD at this is just incredible, and literally makes my day. And also, reading through something you've spent time and effort and imagination on, and being proud. Worst thing about writing/being a writer: Um. Probably not feeling good enough. As in, perfectly adequate, but not GOOD, and this can be really discouraging, because writing is pretty much all I want to do, ever. And always feeling guilty about not replying to individual reviews. I still keep meaning to, because some of them are just blow-my-mind-reduce-me-to-tears pieces of absolute beauty. And I DO still mean to. So yeah. Writing—hobby or addiction?: Complete addiction. Fanfic is my heroin (and the sad thing is, I'm not actually joking). Longest case of writer’s block: Hmm. I'm not entirely sure. For the GDT trilogy it's been about a year :) but for NCIS? Longest, maybe a month? I'm not sure. List twelve of your characters from your fandoms, in no particular order. 1. Ziva David. 2. Tony DiNozzo. 3. Abby Sciuto. 4. Timothy McGee. 5. Leroy Jethro Gibbs. 6. Leon Vance. 7. Caitlin Todd. 8. Jenny Shepard. 9. Jimmy Palmer. 10. Paula Cassidy. 11. Jeanne Benoit. 12. Michael Rivkin. 1. Have you ever read a Six/Eleven fic? Do you want to? No, I haven't, but I think it could be quite neat (neat as in tidy, not cool) because then she would stop screwing with Tony and Vance might be a little more mellow. 2. Do you think Four is hot? How hot? Ha! It's McGee. Um, hot isn't the word. Cute, maybe? Cute like a little baby mouse. 3. What would happen if Twelve got Eight pregnant? Rivkin and Jenny! Ahaha. Firstly, that would be totally creepy, because they're both dead, but secondly, let me just repeat for a second. AHAHAHAAH. OK. What would happen is, Gibbs would be totally heartbroken because him and Jenny had that whole thing going on. Secondly, Eli David would probably kill Rivkin because he would have totally cheated on Ziva, or whatever. So yeah. Jenny would be left alone to bring up baby, Gibbs would forgive her, they would bring it up together, it would call Ziva and Tony aunt and uncle, they would find it cute and eventually end up kissing, falling in love, etc. All my imaginings, however unlinked, end up with Tiva :) 4. Can you recall any fics about Nine? Yeah, I read a couple. They were OK, but nowhere near the absolute genius of his character on-screen. 5. Would Two and Six make a good couple? Again, AHAHAHA. Tony and Vance. Somehow, I think not. 6. Five/Nine or Five/Ten? Why? Gibbs/Palmer or Gibbs/Paula? Neitherrrrr, but if I had to choose, Paula. Actually. No. For the humour - Palmer. 7. What would happen if Seven walked in on Two and Twelve having sex? Aha. So this is Kate walking in on Tony and Rivkin? Firstly, she would have to be a pretty decomposed corpse by now (I'm sorry but it's true) and if we're talking strict timeframe, Tony, also, would be engaged in sexual relations with a dead man. Nice. So, probably nothing much would happen apart from me clawing my eyes out of their sockets for the next 3 years. 8. Make up a summary for a Three/Ten fic. "Paula Cassidy watched the beautiful Goth working hard, her pupils dilated and her breathing shallow. She had to have her. And she had to have her now (never mind the fact that she, also, is a corpse). It was true dead love". I NEVER want to see this plot developed. Ever. You hear me? 9. Is there any such thing as One/Eight fluff? Oh yeahhh, I've read quite a lot. 10. Suggest a title for a Seven/Twelve hurt/comfort fic. Kate/Rivkin. "Blood and Kind Eyes" 11. If you wrote a songfic about Eight, what song would you choose? Oh God. I don't know. I don't write her much. Probably something about being alone and dying horribly/shepherds. 12. If you wrote a One/Six/Twelve fic, what would the warning be? Ziva, Leon, Michael. Haha. The warning would be "May contain ninjas, toothpicks and men who are not Tony." 13. When was the last time you read a fic about Five? Ooh, earlier today. I mean, it wasn't ENTIRELY about Gibbs, it was Gibbs/Ziva (Conversations by Embolalia, wonderful fic). So yeah. Coolio. I think this is done now. So, um, after about half an hour of my life wasted, I'll be off. Guten. | |||||||||
