 Poll: Should I write for Albus and Minerva, The Early Years, and complete that before starting another multi chapter novel length story ? Or has it been too long since updating, and so I should start another novel length story instead ? Vote Now! |
Author has written 70 stories for Harry Potter, and StarTrek: The Original Series. SylvaDragon, also known as Silva, or Sylva. Dumbledore's Woman Through and Through Fanatical Albus and Minerva Shipper, Admit it they are adorable together. Winner Nanowrimo November 2012 With an ADMM story, called Bringer of Light, Journey to Redemption. 75,000 words written, still incomplete, waiting to complete it before publishing it. Winner Camp Nanowrimo April 2013 Wrote a series of short stories, one of which evolved into six chapters, and one of which has grown into a considerably longer story. Both are ADMM, and will be published once edited and completed. If I read a story I will review it, no matter how old it is. Because writers love reviews, well I do. :D Spread the happiness around, and review. Presently obsessing madly over hunky sultry Colin Firth as Mr Darcy in Pride and Prejudice. Oh those eyes, oh that way he has of portraying such love with a mere glance. *melts* I'm very friendly, and love to talk about writing, fanfic, and Harry Potter, so don't be scared to message me, I don't bite ... well only when hungry. I have a long held dream to write a Harry Albus story, for despite all that JKR says I do believe, as Hermione does, that Dumbledore did love Harry, and utterly reject the concept that he was manipulative in any way. The vast marjority of what I write features either Albus Dumbledore, since he is my hero, or Minerva McGonagall, since I adore her strength and determination. Most of my stories pair Albus and Minerva since I think they are adorable together. Though I do write other ships as well. This is where I put everything that doesn't quite seem to fit on fanfiction net. Many of my old poems are there. A poem inspired by Albus Dumbledore, and Gandalf, but not actually about either of them, if that makes sense. I'm an ancient and venerable dragon with a tendancy to barbecue people who annoy me, well OK really I'm a female human who lives and breathes Harry Potter, Dumbledore, and fanfic - kinda dull compared to being a dragon really. I write because I love it, I feel the most incredible sense of achievement from writing. Sometimes when I'm lucky inspiration just flows so fast that I can't keep up, I have the most terrible memory and am always forgetting what I've written, which is annoying ! Other times I must force myself to write, then I'm often less pleased with the result. I have a very mercurial mind and the plot bunnies seem to just adore prancing around in it, I'm often inundated with a glorious multitude of new ideas every day, so many I can't possibly write them all. I find it very hard to resist their pleadings and focus on the stories which need completion, however I do try to complete my stories eventually, reviews help with this, they truly do inspire me and give me so many ideas. I'm fanatical about my pens, they have to be the right colour, and the right brand, and they have to have the lid on the end, otherwise they feel wrong. If they feel wrong then I can't write with them. I'm from England, land of grey skies, wind, rain, and general all round dampness. In reality I reside in my own little dream world, peopled with elves, magic, unicorns, dragons, and of course wizards. I walk around with my head in the clouds, or I would if I was taller than 5 foot. My constant companion is my border terrier called Merry, my other near constant companion is my bloke, who in some ways reminds me of Dumbledore. He will probably die of embarassment if I show him this ...so I won't lol. I adore dogs, and all animals, and am nuts about soccer. Minerva cries over quidditch, I cry over soccer. I'm not the healthiest of people, so if I seem to take ages updating on occasion then it might well be because I'm feeling too crappy to write. I have various health problems that flare up, and then calm down again, sometimes taking weeks or more before I feel good again. I won't give more detail here, but when affected, my mental energy drops and I just can't write. Favourite Fandoms Harry Potter Books 1 to 5, for me books 6 and 7, just don't exist in particular book 7. I really hate what Rowling did to Albus Dumbledore in book 7 - the tragic past, the way it is insinuated that he is only using Harry for the greater good, even the scene in Kings Cross just isn't what I would have wanted at all, couldn't he just have given Harry more reassurance ? As for the Prince's Tale, I've read it twice now in depth seeking for some seed of comfort and I still loathe it and just can't make it fit to my image of Dumbledore. Then there are all the other mistakes, errors, and general annoying things in book 7, I could go on forever about it but I won't. Thus I have decided that in my version of the Harry Potter world, books 6 and 7 just do not exist, (my copy of book 7 has been flung in the back of a cupboard there to linger and gather dust for all eternity ). I was vastly inclined to jump up and down on book 7 and pound it into oblivion after first reading it, but I rapidly discovered that this hurt my feet more than it hurt the book. As for book 6, well I really loved some parts of it, other bits really annoyed me, and since she killed off Dumbledore I just can't accept it as what really happened. And as for making him gay, well bah and grrrrrr etc, doesn't she know Albus's heart belongs to Minerva. Doubtless you now realise, if you haven't got bored and gone off to do something more interesting, that I am a massive fan of that kindly, benign, funny, extremely eccentric old mage called Dumbledore. One might say that I am Dumbledore's woman through and through. Let me state it loud and clear, Albus Dumbledore is NOT dead, nor is he gay. He is Minerva's forever. Nothing anyone says can convince me otherwise. :) Lord of The Rings, my favourite book of all time, I dream every day of going to Middle Earth. In my view Tolkien was a genius, a truly masterful writer who created the most wondrous mythology for us. Gandalf is just the kind of mage I love, for me Dumbledore as portrayed in the first five books is so much like Gandalf. Why don't I write Lord of the Rings fanfic if I love the book so much ? Well the book is so perfect already that there's nothing I would want to change about it, with Harry Potter there are clearly things I'd like to change, such as JKR killing off so many characters. Grumbles. Star Trek Beginning to like Kirk/Spock slash, among other things. :D My first ever fandom, and I still dream of having my own Holodeck. Avatar The Last Airbender The series is so much better than the film, haven't read any fanfics for it yet, but I might. Pride and Prejudice Once I've finished rewatching the series and drooling over the Divine Colin Firth as Mr Darcy, I may sate my craving for more of him by seeking out fanfics. ; Favourite Harry Potter Characters Albus Dumbledore, Minerva McGonagall, Severus Snape, Sirius Black, Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Rolanda Hooch. Least Favourite Characters Ron Weasley, cos he's too sulky, Umbridge cos she's evil. Peter Pettigrew cos he's just so creepy, Fudge because he was too stupid to listen to Dumbledore, Percy Weasley because he allowed ambition to turn him against his family, Ginny because I can't stand her in the films. Ships Albus and Minerva, far and away my favourite ship, and one that will never be sunk. Rolanda Hooch and Severus Snape, thanks mainly to a story by Lamenting Quill called The Joy of Healing. Pomona Sprout and Filius Flitwick, I adore Filius he has a hint of Albus about him in the books, and this pairing is very sweet. Harry Potter and Severus Snape, one of my fave slashy ships, and I don't know why. ;) Chakotay and Janeway, From star trek voyager. Troi and Riker, From Star Trek Next Generation. Ships I'm not keen on, and will only read if they are very well written. Albus and Gelert, or with anyone other than Minerva. Minerva with anyone other than Albus. Harry and Ginny. Ron and Hermione, unless very well done. Minerva with Hermione, friends yes, more no, and not because I'm anti gay either just because for me it doesn't work. Types of Fics I love Anything where Dumbledore is a grandfather figure to Harry or other people, or mentors people. Albus and Minerva raise Harry. MMAD, obviously, but prefer happy endings. I always appreciate it if people suggest good fics to me, so if you know of any let me know please. Works in Progress Destiny An Albus and Minerva story. what if, long before their time at hogwarts, Albus and Minerva had lived many previous lifes, and in each one they knew each other. This is the story of one of those lifes, of a bond that is destined to be. Set in Medieval Times, the tale of their first meeting in an eternity together. 18 chapters written so far, trying to avoid the curse of the eternally unfinished story by completeing it before succumbing to temptation and publishing it. A blend of romance, and angst/darkness. Minerva centric. Bringer of Light, Journey To Redemption, An Albus and Minerva Story, could be considered AU. Albus Dumbledore has a special ability, he can travel across time and space to different planes of existence, he is a bringer of light, sent where he is most needed. He has many different names and faces in many different worlds. Returning to Hogwarts after one of his journeys he discovers that he has been gone an unusually long amount of time, he must deal with the shocked reactions of his friends, who thought him dead. His concerns grow as he begins to see that certain things seem different, can he still trust the beings who send him on his missions ? Can he forgive himself for past mistakes and love again, or will fear to trust himself rule him ? An ancient darkness is growing in power, joining with old enemies, and Albus must face his greatest test, as he tries to protect those he loves. Albus and Minerva, The Early Years Prologue and First Five Chapters Published, more to come. Not Abandoned, Will be completed no matter how long it takes. Starts when Minerva goes to Hogwarts age 11, from the first moment, when she commands the sorting hat to put her into Gryffindor, it's clear that Minerva Mcgonagall is an incredibly courageous, fiery, determined girl. In the eyes of Armando Dippet, and many of the other professors, she's trouble, only Albus Dumbledore sees the potential in the wild girl from the Scottish Highlands. Note this description may change as ideas evolve and change. The story will follow the developing relationship between Albus and Minerva, from their first meeting, through her school years, and beyond. How does her mentor, her friend, eventually become the love of her life ? Note, nothing happens between them untill she is of age, probably not untill she's left Hogwarts, since I just feel this is the way I wish to write it. I may divide the story into two parts, with the first part covering untill Minerva leaves Hogwarts, and the second part covering what happens after that. This story will focus very much on comedy and humour, it will be lighter and less angsty than Dumbledore's eyes. There may be some sad scenes, and there will be things other than humour. Her first year will be lots of humour, lightweight, with tender human moments too. Her hair ribbon will be very important through all seven years lol. Oh, and I have the final chapter of year seven written, well planned. Weird way to write lol.
