Appearance: Tall. Somewhat untidy. Abstracted.

Heritage: German, Irish, Scottish, who-knows-what. One grandfather had brick-red hair. One grandmother was miffed that she could not join the DAR because her ancestors were Tories who fled the Revolution to Halifax, and built ships for the British. We've been "messing around in boats" for a long time.

Obsessions: Lord of the Rings, sailing, languages, pirates, legends & mythology, almost anything Japanese, dragons, Celtic music, electronica.

Current Occupation: Talking about software.

Goals in life: To be an author. To sail the Caribbean and the Bahamas again. To travel in Japan the old-fashioned way, staying at ryokans and seeing the festivals.

Life Dream: To write a novel or series that sells well enough to support me.

Movies: Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, Gladiator, LOTR Trilogy, Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy, Hiroshi Inagaki's Samurai Trilogy (the life of Musashi Miyamoto), Akira Kurosawa's Rashomon & Hidden Fortress, George Lucas' Star Wars Saga, etc.
