What's life without beer and anime?

Favorite TV Shows: Bones, The L Word (killing Dana was the worst decision ever), The Facts of Life and Bad Girls

Current Music Obsession: Paramore and NANA Soundtrack --Primarily OLIVIA

Current Anime Obsession: Always Mai HiME/Otome. I'm a huge Shizuru x Natsuki fan. It's sad really. I cringe often when they are referred to as ShizNat, I like to think of them as individuals first and foremost. Then of course a lovely couple coming at a very close 2nd place :).

What to say about myself, here it goes:

No longer am I a "jock", I've settled into domestic life and that's pretty much means I'm lazy. My hero growing up was Mia Hamm and still is to this day. I love watching sports on TV as well. I have zero talent for writing but I highly enjoy reading. I don't have a creative bone in my body which is why I enjoy being around those who do. I work in the insurance industry and I've been on this site recently to pass the time.

I'm an anime nut and recently have been introduced to yuri this past year and I'm hooked.

-I go ga-ga for Shizuru and Natsuki from Mai HiME and Mai Otome. I wish Sunrise would realize that they are sitting on a gold mine with these two. It's one of the reasons I have recently gotten into fanfic, many writers are writing stories that I hope we'll see on screen one day.

-My wife convinced me to watch Sailor Moon and it's now a very guilty pleasure. I love reading fanfic stories about Michiru and Haruka, aka Sailor Neptune and Uranus. Season 3 and 5 are obviously my favorite seasons of SM, most of it being the story lines were more adult in many ways.

-I love the series Maria-sama ga Miteru. Sachiko and Sei are definitely on my list of favorite characters.

-First anime series was Fushigi Yugi. I can't count the number of times I've seen the series nor the number of times I cried. Nuriko is the best character ever, and my office in my house proves that, lol.

-I don't know how it happened, but most of my favorite characters in anime have purple hair. My wife knows right away who my favorite character will be before we even get started. Examples: Nuriko from FY, Sachiko from MariMite, Misato from NGE, and Natsuki Kuga/Kruger from Mai series. There are more but I don't want to bore you too much.

A Couple of Favorite Animes (Not in any particular order):

Mai HiME/Otome-- no reason to explain why :)

Kimagure Orange Road-- Without a doubt one of the best anime's of all time. It's not your typical love triangle.

Sailor Moon-- Another guilty pleasure of mine. Of course I watch it for Michiru and Haruka. The series gets very exciting with them in it. ;)

Maria-sama ga Miteru-- Probably my second favorite anime of all time. It's definitely not an action packed series. It is entirely character driven. Sachiko and Yumi's character development was the best I've seen hands down. Not only do they grow together they grow individually. sighs They will forever remain "more than friends, less than lovers".

Blue Drop-- I just finished this series a couple of weeks ago. Wonderful series. The two main characters, Mari and Hagino, were sensational. It was the first series in a long time where I did not cover my ears for the first few episodes because the main characters were complete block heads. The side characters were perfect as well. I highly recommend to anyone who loves a good shojo-ai/light-yuri series; with a mix of sci-fi.

There's plenty more where that came from :).

I'm currently writing my first Shizuru X Natsuki based fiction. I haven't written anything in a long time, and I'm serious when I say that. But I hope you give it a chance if you have the time to read it.

I also commend those wonderful writers out there, I never truly appreciated the time and effort it takes to keep people entertained until I've actually been in your shoes. It certainly can hurt the brain, lol. So thank you in advance.
