Okay, Here's my situation. My beta HAS THE CHAPTER FOR MORNING! It's IN THE WORKS! Promise! Music is half done, Clandestine is half done, all of it awaiting time to breathe and a signal of any strength from my neighbors. Oo That's right, I'm HACKING, ladies and gents. Hacking for the love of God and all things Yaoi. OO

I HAVE STARTED COLLEGE! Those of you have been with me since I joined know that I took a year off after highschool and have been frantic all summer about getting into college this year. Those of you who didn't know that...well, you do now, don't you?! HA! It CAN be done ladies and gentleman! It CAN be done! I am a Restaurant/Hotel Management and Culinary Major, and I'm doing a work-study program. That means that I work for the college, and my professor, to pay off my tuition fees. This means little time. I'm doing the best that I can, so please, just give a silent cheer for me making it in, and bear with me. I have abandoned nothing save my social life. Yeah. That's like...gone to hell. Gone Gone GONE! Like a snowangel dancing with the devil.

So...It'll be up when it's up. That's the best I can do, and I hope, very seriously, that you find these works interesting enough to keep coming back, even when I can't keep my deadlines. Feel free to write me, I love hearing from you all, anything you'd like...it cheers me up. I had a person ask me what I thought Near's bunny looked like the other day, it was great.

-General update. I've started taking my writing more seriously, as you may have noticed...therefore, expect slightly longer update times.

Upcoming Stories:

Much Ado About Nothing: Light met the detective L through the most impersonal means possible. When finally introduced, he sees something that can be broken, a project waiting to unfold. After all, if he cannot master the one mind, how can he expect to tame the masses? L is presented with a new challenge when his only Kira-suspect decides to dance with him in a downward spiral of mental games. What happens when they hit the bottom is a mystery he's not sure he wants to solve. The stakes are high, but the tensions even higher and at this point, backing out is not an option.

Desperation And Silence: (working title) Matsuda never understood himself until Light Yagami stepped into his life. At a crucial point in his career, the young man seemed to appear from nothing, a guiding hand that remained steady upon his shoulder. His confidante, and friend. It wasn't until Light began to reshape his life that Matsuda realized that he didn't understand Light...and that he likely never would.

Phlegethon: The Descent: I have graciously been granted permission to write a spin off/ companion Story to Nilahxapiel's Phlegethon River. Essentially, it's the story from Light's point of view, from imprisonment along his downward spiral into madness. Shall be interesting, yus indeed. It's going to be dark, morbid, and entirely Light-central...so if you can't sit still through my psychological babble, this isn't the story for you. I mean really...I plan at least twenty five chapters, and the majority of it takes place in his JAIL CELL.

Greatest L expression ever? The WTF face in volume five of the manga...page 25, bottom frame. Priceless.

My nickname is Mikanis, and I am a prolific writer. Meaning I write all the time. I have been known to scribble plot bunnies onto napkins in restaurants.

My favorite animes are Cowboy Bebop, Wolf's Rain, Death Note, Witch Hunter Robin, Trigun, and Ranma 1/2. Started Ouran Host...

I wear a top-hat on a daily basis. Why? Because I like it, and I can.

When I get the urge to write, I have been known to drive myself into temporary insomnia. I like coffee. I like cigarettes, but I don't smoke. I am addicted to Rain, caramel, oreos, Amadeus, Classical music, Sinatra, Buble, and Rock in all it's glory. I have run out of things to say about myself.

That being said, let me state this. I do not believe in fans. I believe in readers. When you read my work, you're reading something that I took the time to create, and that I take very seriously. When you take me seriously, you make it worth my while. Therefore, I have no fans. I have readers that care enough to look over something that I wanted to share with them. My readers are appreciated, and never, ever, taken for granted.

About my Writing:

What you can expect: I am not a nice person, and I love to climb inside a character's skull and do a bit of re-wiring. I'm deathly serious, and psychological to a fault. I do not believe in happy endings, I believe in realistic ones. I will either write an AU story, or I will stick to canon. I will not change the ultimate ending a fraction to suit my fantasy or yours. That is why there is Of Music, my AU romance...So I don't feel quite as bad for KILLING THEM. (Sob)

Ahem...moving on. I will not write smut, but tension is my darling bastard.

Current Stories:

Truth is actually a series, something I call my snapshot writing. I've always been terrible about the underdogs, the supporting characters. I love writing things left unsaid, portraying different thought processes, giving theories on WHY a character does what he does. Every character is a different person, and they are an Entire person...they think and feel just like the leads do. Thus is the beauty of fanfiction. It allows you to fill in those gaps. These are actually individual scenes by the different characters, some thinking, some explaining, some learning...This one updates randomly.

Morning Star is the sequel to Welcome to Wammy, and picks up around the end of the seventh Manga. Matt and Mello are estranged, and when they find each other again, they meet two completely different people. Where Welcome to Wammy was about accepting himself, Morning Star is about Mello coming to terms with the fact that people change and that he can either move past that, or spend his last days alone. Still conflicted, possibly tasteful yaoi before it's finished, but there is tension, power, and the psychological aspect of the story that you should be accustomed to seeing from me. Beta-ed by the incredibly intelligent Anja-chan.

Ashes to Ashes is the one where I mess with Near. O.o It's a companion story to Welcome to Wammy, and elaborates on the section towards the end that I condensed, where they're roommates. Near arrives at Wammy as the sole survivor to his small family's murder, trauma-mute and incurably introverted. Through some intensive work on the part of L, and later some unintentional work by Mello, he slowly becomes the young man that we see in the Manga. I expect it to be a twisted, neurotic, half-horror story, followed by a sequel from Near's later years. Will Be Beta-ed by the also incredibly intelligent Angelic Demoness.

Of Music: Just typing those two words makes my fingers ache. This is my epic, my baby, my grand finale. It will be the best piece of LXLight fanfiction that I ever manage to accomplish, and it's happening because I'm biting the bullet and slowing my ass down. It's an AU set to the tune of classical music. It features an older, accomplished Light, and and older, still inane L, and one hell of a storyline. My plot frightens me, and I hope to scare the hell out of you too, before it's all said and done.
