Hi Folks: It has taken me a while to write this bio but I have only just learned how to go about it. I am a complete novice when it comes to computers, you see. The helplessness comes from the fact of not having grown up with computers.My kids did that.

I am 55 years old (egads, I hear you say) and am that creature that is often considered a "pariah" in today's society in most countries of the Western World; the stay at home mum. I have 5 kids and they are all grown; my youngest has just turned 18 and it is for him that I stay at home. He is disabled. He loves Harry Potter. He listens to the (English) audio books and loves Stephen Fry's character voices. So do I.

I am from Victoria, in Australia and have been a Harry Potterphile since I went out to buy "The Chamber of Secrets" for my then 10 year old, second youngest son. Quickly realising that it was the second book in the series, I grabbed the first as well and an addiction was born.

I only found fanfictions about a year ago and have been an avid reader ever since. Reading is my passion but I don't think I have picked up a published book (except for Deathly Hallows) in all that time.

JK Rowling's universe has sucked me in completely and I just love everything about it. You won't hear me knock canon either.

I love H/G and R/H ships and am rapt that they ended up together. I know lots of people disagree, particularly with H/G, saying it was out of left field. I don't agree. Harry's descriptions of Ginny in the first 5 books always seemed to be a little more detailed than other observations he would make. But hey, that may just be the romantic in me, wanting to think that.

The deaths in DH devastated me. I cried for Hedwig and Dobby, Fred, Lupin and Tonks. But they can all still live for me in my fic and those that I read.

Snape fascinates me. He is a character that I dislike intensely whilst at the same time, I wanted something to redeem him.I hated how he died also. It was very sad and his passion for Lily was something that I always had in the back of my mind. Though I admit, "Snape's Worst Memory" depressed me as it seemed to shoot my theory down in flames. I love Snape as Harry's father or Snape mentors Harry fics but he has to remain a snarky, git.

I love Dumbledore but admit that he was always far too difficult to get a proper fix on. I absolutely loathe fics where D turns out to be the bad guy.

I hope the muse keeps me in its thrall and that I can finish my first fic, and indeed, get up the nerve to upload a couple more I have in the works.

And in case I forget to write a disclaimer at the start of any of my chapters, I will say it here. This all belongs to JK Rowling, her publishers and Warner Bros. and I am not making any profit out of this little hobby.

I have just uploaded the first chapter of a story I have had in the works for a while. The ever fascinating/always snarky potions genius is, once again, the prominent character, but Harry, as always, features largely also. I hope all the readers of ASD will read and review. It is a very different story except for the fact that Sev and Harry will come to an understanding...eventually.

I finally have an avatar, and I want to thank Cathy from the Lily's Charm Yahoo group for allowing me the use of her Harry and Severus. The picture was really painted for Lily's Charm, but as I love it so much, and as Cathy is a good cyber buddy, she let me use it. If you have not done so, check out ObsidianEmbraces, Lily's Charm on fanfic.com. It is a fantastic story, as is it's sequel, LC, The Gift. Everything written by OE is fantastic for that matter.

Some of you may have noticed that I have changed the image in my avatar. This is a sweet little photo I found of the first meeting between Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint. I just thought it was gorgeous, and I thought a change might be nice.
