The Racetrack Song!
by R. Higgins, choreography by C. "Nuwanda" Dalton

When I'm walkin' down the street
There's a song I like to sing
It's got a snappy beat
And a certain catchy ring

But it hasa special chorus
I think you all will know
And it begs a special question
Whose answer clearly shows

It goes...

CHORUS
Who's the pretties newsie on the block?
(It's him! It's Race!)
Who's the prettiest newsie on the block!
(It's him! It's Race!)

Oh, if there is a question I can answer sure and free, it's--
"Who's the prettiest newsie on the block?"
It's me!

CHORUS 2x

Oh, I'm a lucky fella
Everybody knows it's true
And when the ladies hear my name
It turns their brown eyes blue

From Harlem to the Bowery
From Brooklyn to the Bronx
There's no man quite like Racetrack
To slice a nice girl's nova lox

So if you get in trouble
And you're in a real jam
Call for me and I'll be there
Racetrack is your man

Just ask the air and I'll be there--
"Who's the prettiest newsie on the block?"
It's me!

CHORUS 2x

-

I don't write 'Newsies' fanfiction nearly as much as I used to, but I'm still doing it off and on, and for that reason I will never grow up.

When I am working on a story, it will most likely be "The Boys of McKinley House," my labor of love for the 'Newsies' fandom, which is as much about Jack and David as it is about navy blue blazers, cowboy boots, rural Oregon, and Bruce Springsteen records. In the words of Jean Anouilh: "you have never seen inhuman forces at work? You will, tonight." Updates have been sporadic lately, but if I'm working on it at all then I'm probably working on it obsessively, and I'm determined to see the boys through their senior year, even if they end up graduating long after I do.
