"Thus, in a real sense, I am constantly writing autobiography, but I have to turn it into fiction in order to give it credibility." -Katherine Paterson
Hello all! It seemed to me way past time I redid my profile and, sadly, as I have no life, I am finally getting around to it.
About me: My name is Kate, 16,and I'm a Southsider of Chicago (although I wouldn't root for the White Sox if you paid me). Yes, if you can't tell, I'm a Cub fan and my true passion is, and has always been, writing anything that comes into my mind. I have a little thing called obsessive compulsive disorder as, if something catches my eye whether be movie, book, etc., I obsessively compulse over it. Not only does it drive my family and friends absolutely crazy, it usually means that my pocketbook becomes quickly empty aka I do whatever I can to... feed the flames, I guess you could say, by whether seeing the movie fifteen times or buying anything related to whatever I'm stuck on. Also, I'm known to carry around a spiral, as every insignificant little thought I have usually turns into some sort of a story.
(in no specific order)
FavoriteBooks: Phantom by Susan Kay, every book written by either J.K. Rowling, C.S. Lewis, Jane Austen, or J.R.R. Tolkien, The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux, The French Lieutenant's Woman by John Fowles, and A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray
Favorite Movies: The Phantom of the Opera, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Harry Potter 1 and 2 (3 was terrible), The Pirates of the Caribbean, Finding Neverland
Favorite TV Shows: Alias, 24, Desperate Housewives, Home Makeover
Right now, Phantom of the Opera is my main obsession and it should be known that I am all for Erik/Christine pairings. In the original novel, Raoul is a fop and Erik (especially when portrayed by the ever-gorgeous Gerry Butler) not only enthralls me, but keeps me wondering. I have never seen the ALW musical (theater) but I fully intend to. The original novel confused me a bit so pretty much all my writing is based off ALW and Kay. I try to encorperate the original as much as I can, but alas, there are still a few points I have yet to uncover.
I have a LJ: http://www.livejournal.com/users/celestel/
and although my updates are few, I'm getting better, I swear.
