Poll: Which story should I write after "All That Glitters?" Details in profile. Vote Now! |
Author has written 17 stories for Chronicles of Narnia, Inuyasha, Tristan + Isolde, Greek Mythology, Seven Kingdoms Trilogy, Troy, and Once Upon a Time. Hello readers and general Internet creepers! I am writing this note to you to inform you that this account, while not becoming inactive just yet, will become less used. Why? Well, as I grow up, I’m faced with more and more changes and obligations in my life. Fanfiction has to take a backseat to all of these things, and therefore will be my last priority. I’m sorry, I just have to make time for family, friends, relationships, work, school, getting into a good college, working out, figuring out my life, dance class, etc. as well as my hobby stuff of writing and making fanvideos and, unfortunately, I am not going to have the time I have previously for that stuff. However, I still have three or four more stories I want to get written and on here before I say my final good-byes to writing fanfiction (chances are I will still read/PM/email you, especially if we’re friends) it’s just that it will be a lot more slow-going, as I no longer have the surplus of time I once had. For example, stories will take longer to be written and uploaded--even in the summer. I intend to continue writing, hopefully, through 2015, through my first year of college while I’m still trying to figure things out. Forever Your Affectionately Crazy Author, Kaylie About the Author An Cathal Toirmisce has been writing fanfiction since the seventh grade, when she first fell into the awesome-ness that is the Chronicles of Narnia. She is embarrassed of all of her writings written before 2010, and even some of those wirtten later are cringe-worthy. Why does she keep them? For references, mostly, and because of the sage advice, “Save what you write!” Only working in the AU section of the Narnia fan base, Ms. Toirmisce writes solely for the paring Edmund/Lucy, working with it to make them unrelated (for personality purposes only, not because they look good or whatever). She’s hoping to expand, and for more information on this or any of her stories or works, see the section of this profile marked “Professional.” Why was I talking in third person? Because it's fun. You should try it sometime. First thing you need to know about me is that I am not a purist, fan-girl, or hater in any way. I guess you could consider this area of my opinions somewhat Daoist. In my opinion, neither extreme is good. If you get so worked up about fanfiction that you start foaming at the mouth, honey, go out and get a social life—please! Anyway, in this way, I love books, but I almost always enjoy their movie interpretations. As far as fanfiction goes, everyone has the freedom to express himself or herself in the way he or she wants to, and if that’s writing obscene fanfictions about two anime characters fooling around until three in the morning, well…have fun with that. If there’s a trend on this site you can’t stand—don’t read it. If you can’t stand vampire stories or AU’s, for goodness’s sake, don’t read it! It seems simple enough to me. It’s not life or death—it’s fanfiction. Yes, authors should try to make it as high quality as they’re capable of doing, but if someone doesn’t share your opinion on something doesn’t mean that it’s the end of the world. Which brings me to… Just because we don’t share an opinion, I am still willing to befriend you. Yeah, believe it or not, I love having friends. I’m a social butterfly, what can I say? (Edit: Actually, I’m still just a social caterpillar, but I’m working on it.) You could hate everything I hold near and dear to my heart, though I can't say I'd have much to say to you, I'll still be friendly and congenial. To quote Eminem, “I don't care if you're black, white, straight, bisexual, gay, lesbian, short, tall, fat, skinny, rich or poor. If you're nice to me, I'll be nice to you. Simple as that.” Personal Name: Kaylie E. Pen Name Definition: "The Forbidden Fairy-tale" Past Pen Names: VampyKaee23 Age: 17 My icon/picture thing: My exam project in Photoshop class. I made a CD cover for a fake soundtrack to a fake film based on "East" by Edith Pattou. AppearanceI'm short and stocky, an endomorph, much to my dismay. I have brown eyes, brunette hair, but blonde highlights help make it lighter, and also help to make me not so pale. Dance classes, YMCA, and Richard Simmons keep me in shape. Family : My sister is Weasley430. Friends: I’m going to point you in the direction of three phenomenal authors on this site, whom I am honored to call my friends! Here they are: NatalieLeon10694, LucyCrewe11 and VioletsBlue Want to start a conversation with me? Some of my favorite topics includeNarnia, The Nine Lives of Chloe King, fanfiction, coffee, music, Panic! at the Disco, computer, really cute shirt-tank top combos, taking pictures, Nutella, Dr. Pepper, or Disney movies. Random Facts: My greatest achievement to date is that, when I was four, I was the last person to get an autograph and picture with Buzz Lightyear at Disney World before he had to leave I have achieved automaticity! Every time I shower, I have to wash behind my ears. I actually like brushing my teeth and using mouthwash; I love the feeling of a clean mouth; it just makes me happy. I keep a small copy of The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe in my purse. I am very prone to over-excitement (i.e I have screamed before while watching T.V when my favorite couple kissed or I've seen a trailer for a Narnia or Harry Potter movie, if something excites me, there's no way for me to hide it, it just kind of comes out in a rather over hyper way) With a little research, I suspect I have dyspraxia due to my severe lack of coordination (seriously, I face plant at least once in almost every dance class) and motor skills (the only one I'm good at is typing...) I am very hypo-sensitive. Meaning, my pain tolerance is extremely high, and I rarely feel cold or heat. I guess I'm just lucky that way. :) I read a little German, and I speak even less, but I can understand a bit in conversation. I actually really like school, and my favorite subjects are English, drama, history, and German. I was born in the summer of 1995. I live in a town that Taylor Lautner visits rather often, to visit family. Every once in a while, I actually say, "Ah, fate. Thou art a cruel mistress." Apparently, I have hobo shoes. Professional My Writing: In my writing and my stories, I’m always striving for improvement! In anything I do, really, I’m always trying to get better. My third grade teacher used to always tell us that annoying rhyme, “Good better best, never let it rest, until your good is better and your better is best.” Yeah. Annoying though it was, it stuck on me. So, I’m a bit preoccupied with improvement. About 30% of the stuff I read are books designed to help me with writing. Anyhow, with my stories, with each chapter I write, I try to get a little better and with each story, I hope to get a little more realistic, fluid, and in depth with characters, dialogue, and plot. I am here on this site to improve as an author, so that maybe, someday, I might be able to publish one of my original works. Fingers crossed. Feel free to tell me if you read something of mine that just isn't that good, and be detailed about it! I really want to learn and grow. Edmund/Lucy: Within Narnia, I’ll be writing AU Edmund/Lucy mostly. All right, just about the ONLY thing I’ll write. Am I going to try expanding and doing other pairings? Um, no. This is what I'm comfortable doing. I almost have a mental breakdown every single time I try to incooperate a new Narnia character I've never used before. This is my favourite pariing in Narnia, provided it's AU. I do not like it purely because I think they "look cute" together. Please. I think their personalities would fit well in a romantic situation were they not related. Therefore, I take out that element and make it work. I can read it in non-AUs, but I don’t know, it always strikes me a bit OOC for my liking in incest stories. AU Surnames: Edmund Martin, Lucy Rosenthal, Susan Annis, and Peter Kingsley. All of the surnames, save for Peter’s, are based off of C.S Lewis’s original names for the Pevensies. As far as Peter goes, well, his original name was Peter, and I doubt anyone would name their son Peter Peters, or something like that. So, because Kingsley sounds better than Wolfsbane or whatever, Peter got saddled with that. Feel free to use any of them you like. :) My Fandoms: What To Expect from Me and Warnings: Music: Yes. I’m very guilty of this one, despite the fact I usually loathe song-fics. Everything but my first story, “Not Another Spring Break Story,” I usually don’t just have the lyrics in verse style and have them out. Usually I just mention people singing, or give them an instrument to play. Talent varies from story to story, and yes. Expect music in most of my stories somehow. Why? Because I love it. Music is one of my favourite things and I tend to incorporate my favourite things into my stories. Rhymes/Poems: As of recently I’ve gotten quite fond of rhymes and poetry, and yes, there will be some in my stories, if the plot allows for it. “Le Morte,” is probably the best example of this. The prophecy is a poem and there’s a little rhyme at the end. I find verse so fantastic it’s amazing. I’ve also considered writing a story in iambic pentameter, but so far that’s a no-go. Sexual Tension: Does this come to anyone’s surprise that I try to put sexual tension in my stories? I want to be a romance novelist, for crying out loud. Harlequin-Teen is my favorite publisher. Anyone surprised? Anyway. I’m working on phrasing, wording, etc. to try and make the tension basically jump of the page and be really intense. Fanfiction is my training, I consider it. If anyone has any tips, by all means, PM me and share. In the meantime, my stories will contain some of this, to the best of my ability. T : This is a rating I use, that’s unofficial on the website. Meaning, I’m telling you that, according to the site guidelines it’s somewhere between a T and an M. However, since people tend to make M’s really be M (aka NC-17 in TV world), I’m playing it safe and putting it in the section it’s closest to in rating. Non-Explicit Sexual Content: I don’t know why the majority of M-rated stories are porn. I really don’t. The site says we shouldn’t have that. And I, for one, obey the ToS (which, yes, I actually read when I first joined the site). So, what to do when it comes to romance? It’s called non-explicit. When I write love scenes they are always fade-to-black (discretion love scenes, according to TV Tropes). Sometimes they fade a bit closer to the punch than others. So, expect that from me. If you’re wondering why I don’t give actually writing one out a try…here’s my answer. No, I haven’t failed Sex Ed. I haven’t taken the class. And hopefully you all can draw two-and-two together and understand the underlying meaning behind that statement. Smoking and Tobacco Use: When it comes to this, yes, I’m a bloody hypocrite. I do not like it when underage people smoke. And after age 18? I find it extremely unattractive when somebody’s a chimney, let’s just say that. And yet, in Till Death Do Us Part and some up-and-coming stories, multiple teenage characters smoke. Why do I do this? To set up cultural things, mostly. To add in tension and stuff. Yes, I’m a hypocrite. But, expect to see teens smoking in several stories written after Till Death… Abuse: Hate, hate, hate, HATE abuse. It makes me sick to my stomach. Stories about abuse make me want to cry. I put it into my stories sometimes. You are forewarned. Foreign Languages: I have a love affair with languages, especially English, German, French, and Gaelic. Expect them to pop up in my stories from time to time. Usually I take a language and then I mess with it to turn it into something more original. For example, in Protector, Old Narnian was essentially German, but I changed it up and made it more original. (Why German when Narnia is mostly English in culture? Well, because German and English are both Germanic languages, of course! They are eerily similar...) Violence: This is one of the many reasons I don't write kid's stories. I am a sucker for a good fight scene. One with blood and gore. So, when reading my stories, expect violence in one form or another. Something's bound to pop up, from a battle scene to abuse to a cockfight. Just, be forewarned as you wade through the pool of my library. Slash: Let it be known right now, in general I do not like slash. I don't like changing sexual orientations of characters "for the LULZ" or because "they look UBER hawt together!!!111." I have nothing against books or movies or television series that depict homosexuality, and I also have nothing against those who like slash as I like AUs. I just don't really like it that much for myself...the exception to that being Sherlock/Watson from BBC's Sherlock...but I don't think that that can be considered slash because the show TRIES to make the fans want it. Philosophies to live by: "Just let it happen." "File nails, not complaints!" "Love thy neighbor as thyself." "Peace, love, squish." "Han shot first." | |||||||
