Hello and welcome to my area of the internet. The name’s Carly, unless you know the real name, but if you don’t I’m Carly. Stick around for a while and I’ll give you a little taster of what you’ll find on LyricsArePoetry’s section of fanfiction.
The majority of my current fanfics are for Doctor Who. For the pairing Doctor/Master or Theta/Koschei. Mostly angst but if you look hard enough you will see splattering of fluff. Their relationship fascinates me because they are complete opposites and exactly the same at same time. They’re so dysfunctional but they need each other. I write multi-chapter and one-shots about Doctor/Master, and currently have one two-shot, two and a half multi-chapters (the half is Vengeance which I’ve yet to decide if will be Doctor/Master or not), and 6 one-shots. Along with 4 planned one-shots and one planned multi-chapter. I also have a one-shot planned about Theta which isn’t strictly Theta/Koschei but will probably mention it.
Since episode 7 of Torchwood: Miracle Day aired in Britain a couple days ago, I feel the need to write about Angelo because he’s just so damn awesome. He’s up there in my “fascinating fictional characters” life. I’m a Christian myself, but I had homophobia with a vengeance. So Angelo gives me an opportunity to speak out against what the Church says, while also still having a huge faith in God. I currently have one one-shot about him called “A Matter of Faith” and have planned another which will be called “They Called Themselves Christians”.
I’ve also been attacked by Amanda/Sarek (from Star Trek 2009) plot-bunnies, and currently have three one-shots about them “Hold Me”, “Mixed Up Girl In A Logical World” and “A Human Custom”. All are fluffy and cute, the last of which in a completely obscene way. Amanda/Sarek make me fluffy, it’s terrible for an angst writer like me. And I have two Amanda/Sarek one-shots planned, one of which is going to be angst as well as fluff, so it’s all good.
The Noughts and Crosses book series I used to write for a lot and I haven’t for ages, since I finished ‘Together and Divided’. Now I have a planned sequel for that but it’ll probably be a long time before I start it because I need to re-read Checkmate, and plan it out more and I don’t really have time because I’m starting Uni in three weeks. I also have two multi-chapters about Lynette planned (because she’s on my “most fascinating” list as well) and a one-shot about Minerva (and I’ve never wrote about Minerva before so it’s new ground for me :P).
If you go down to my older fics, you’ll see I used to be a fluffy Drose fan. Thank God for times changing me. But if you’re a Drose fan and you like fluff, feel free to scroll far down and find the obscene fluff and review when you read :P.
The rest of my fanfic is just random stuff really. Everything on the list above of things I’ve written for I am or was a fan of (for example I’m not much of a Hannah Montana fan anymore, and I no longer watch Home and Away or Neighbours and don’t get me started on Twilight)
But as you can see I have a lot planned, so stick around because I’ll always be writing on here. I can’t imagine not writing on here, it’s such a bloody addiction. A great addiction though. Know why? ‘Cause not only is it fanfic, but it’s people. And I’ve bet some freaking awesome people on here like the people on the RRA and the TARDIS forum.
Anyways enough about my fanfics and here’s a little about me. I’m 19 years old and I live in Devon, England. I support Exeter City Football Club and I’m going to be going to a Uni which allowed Plymouth Argyle to use their sports equipment. Now if you’re not from Devon you probably don’t understand that, but the rivalry between Exeter and Plymouth is SO bitter. I look forward to walking around that uni with my City shirt on. As well as Exeter I support Liverpool (which left me so torn in the Carling Cup second round) and obviously England. I love Cricket as much as football and support Somerset and England, and I swear Stuart Broad is the cutest (and goddamn tallest Dx) cricketer out there. (P.S If you’re an Aussie cricket fan: WE WON THE ASHES ;) Just sayin’).
I’m going to be studying Creative Writing because Writing is everything to me. In Wuthering Heights Heathcliff said of Cathy “I cannot live without my life, I cannot live without my soul” well that’s me and writing. It’s not just everything to me, but it’s who I am. I literally couldn’t live without it. And yeah I just compared my love of writing to Heathcliff’s love for Cathy (so don’t take it away, I may go crazy-and-a-bad-way and that would be sad).
My iPod/iTunes is like permanently on and my favourite music stuff is Westlife, Take That, Taylor Swift, Linkin Park, Skillet and Glee. I also have a load of random other stuff, like Charlotte Church, John Barrowman etc.
And I love reading and recommend Malorie Blackman’s Noughts and Crosses series to all of you. (And Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte.)
My heroes/inspirations are:
Russell T Davies (The guys a freaking genius)
John Lennon (repeat above statement)
Demi Lovato (She’s so brave and strong)
You can find me on:
Oh. Yeah. I mentioned my list of “most fascinating fictional characters” this is them:
1) Lynette McGregor – Noughts and Crosses. She’s a minor character but she plays such an importance in the book and I love exploring what we don’t know about her.
2) Spock – Star Trek 2009. Being half-human and half-Vulcan. I love exploring the struggle regarding emotions
3) Angelo Colesanto – Torchwood: Miracle Day. He’s a gay Catholic in the 1920’s, what’s not fascinating about that?
4) The Master – Doctor Who (John Simm’s Master that is). He’s evil but not, he’s clearly vulnerable and with the drums it’s just so interesting.
5) The Doctor – Doctor Who (All of them but specifically 8, 9, 10 and at times 11 but not really ‘cause I hate that Steven Moffat has done to Doctor Who). The Time War and the way he acts since, it’s just so fascinating.
6) Amanda Grayson – Star Trek 2009. She’s so human yet she fell in love with a Vulcan who suppresses emotion.
Fun, pointless stuff:
DOCTOR WHO: It's not an obsession it's a way of life!
When you are staring at your TV screen, which is on BBC1, a good 15 minutes before the programme is due to start.
