I liked Seasons 1-5 of "Degrassi" because, I felt that there were compelling characters, storylines, energy and a real direction and or some resolution of storylines one way or the other which is something that I think that Season 7 of "Degrassi" has lacked in my opinion to put it simply.
I enjoyed watching J.T. Yorke and Liberty Van Zandt's relationship grow through the years on "Degrassi: The Next Generation." I wasn't happy at all with how J.T. Yorke was written out of "Degrassi." I can't be too hard on Mia Jones because, she did make J.T. see that he could be a good father someday and she did eventually realize that his heart was still with Liberty.
Liberty/Damian-I think that this relationship has no chance at all in lasting because, Damian has gone from girlfriend to girlfriend since he came to "Degrassi" and that forbidden love doesn't last in the long run. I also think that while the "Degrassi" writers and the "Degrassi" powers that be have ignored this more often than not that Liberty must be really lonely deep down inside to even be interested in Damian or any guy like him.
Toby/Liberty: I like seeing Toby and Liberty being friends but, nothing else. I think that if there were to be a Toby/Liberty ship that it would last for about five minutes on "Degrassi" because, I don't think Liberty will ever love anyone as much as J.T. and that Toby knows that better than anyone else and that they are too much alike personality wise. I say give Toby his own girlfriend and storyline.
Sean/Emma: I like them as a couple, because, they seem to compliment each other well despite having very different personalities and very different backgrounds. I thought that not unlike J.T. and Liberty that there were unexpressed feelings on both sides and I wish that Sean and J.T. were in Season 7 of "Degrassi."
Spinner/Paige: I like them as a couple because, despite all that they have been through together and separately they are still on good terms and Spinner seems to have a soft spot for Paige even after all of this time.
