Author has written 27 stories for Alpha Force, Hunger Games, and Doctor Who. As of November 2012: I'm not dead. Honest. I just had a really, really busy year. I'm writing again now that I have more time though, both for THG and for a new fandom. It'll probably be a while until anything's ready to go up here, but stay posted. If my year missing hasn't made me obsolete in fandom, that is. I am be-nice-to-nerds (you can call me BNTN if you ever need to use my name) and that is all you really need to know about me, but since this is a profile page I won't just leave it at that. What is there to say really? I was a school-age student with an overactive imagination and a bit too much time on my hands. Now I'm still a school-age student but with much less time on my hands but who enjoys the writing too much to stop. My name comes from a really cool quote - 'Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.' I'm a Kiwi. Which means that I'm from New-Zealand, which is NOT part of Australia, and as national heritage means that I automatically support two sports teams - ours and whoever happens to be playing the Aussies. But really though, I'm quite friendly. Honest. I read anything I can get my hands on - and despite what my favourites list might suggest, I actually read way more than watching movies or TV - just many of the books I read aren't on here, or I just don't want to spoil them by reading fanfiction about them, because only a certain type of media is fanfic-worthy. I first found out about fanfiction enough years ago that I won't bother listing them anymore. Needless to say I've been on here for quite a while. My writing's also improved pretty dramatically since I started up here, so the later the 'published' date is the better the fic is likely to be. And while we're on the topic of fics, Cripple got Runner Up in the Summer 2010 Fanfiction Awards, in the category Best Alternative POV for the 74th Games. I was also nominated for Best Overall Oneshot (For No One Left) and Best Overall THG Author. Yeah. Shameless self promotion over, especially since I'm still overwhelmed I was even nominated, let alone made Runner Up for something. If anyone cares, the banner I got as runner up can be found here. And if I'm still bragging, No One Left ended up WINNING the Winter 2010 awards. Which was pretty awesome, and pretty shocking too. No prize banner here though. Not to mention I got a bunch of nominations for the Pearl Awards on Mockingjaydotnet. I didn't win anything, but I consider even being nominated in the same company as most of those on there good enough. I've also been recced on Nightlock. You should go check it out - there're lots of good fic recs on there. In addition, Calufrax for my Doctor Who fic; the same check it out for other good fics thing applies too. Um yeah. Other stuff. I now have a tumblr (though there really isn't much on it yet). Also an account on A Teaspoon and an Open Mind, but that only has the one Doctor Who fic I also have on here. If you're into Doctor Who, though, have a look at the site in general. | |||||||
