"Life itself is the most wonderful fairy tale" - Hans Christian Anderson

My name, in case you’re wondering, isn’t actually Harris. No, that’s my penname. Surprise! My real name is Laura.

My writing inspiration comes from every day obstacles and dreams from my very (sometimes painfully) ordinary life. Family and friends around me inspire me to write, as do other books and movies. I love to read (surprise). My taste in novels usually leans towards historical fiction and Christian.

I am in my sophomore year at a Bible college where I am double majoring in Bible and Journalism. In my spare time I work with music and drama ministries my church and read. My favorite author is C.S. Lewis and if I had to pick a favorite work of his, it would be either Mere Christianity.

"The Maiden and the Tower" will soon be "The Maiden of Albanthea." It's a story about shattered dreams, a trial of faithfulness, and new beginnings. (I am currently working on the last half of chapter 28)

"Megan" is a completed story I wrote in August 2006 and posted this year after editing. I'd like to say it's a more realistic story of Cinderella and written from real experiences and lessons from my life.
