Hey Everyone,
I am Mistoffelees980 and I LOVE musicals. Some of the other things I like are listed further on down, but lets start with the musicals. Some of the musicals that I have seen or that I like are listed below:
- The Phantom of the Opera
- Wicked
- Avenue Q
- Hairspray
- Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
- Singing In the Rain
- Sound of Music
- Damn Yankees
- Guys and Dolls
- Beauty and the Beast
- Cats
- In The Heights
- Sweeney Todd
My top five favorites out of those twelve are listed below in no particular order:
- Cats
- In The Heights
- Avenue Q
- The Phantom of the Opera
- Wicked
Now lets talk about why I like each of these amazing shows, and who I like from them. First up...
Cats:
- I love the musical Cats because it is so different and interesting. I love the dance moves the Gillian came up with, the songs that Andrew created out of the amazing poems by T.S. Eliot, and just all the characters in general. I have about five favorite characters, and they are listed here in no particular order:
- Mistoffelees (Jacob Brent; best Misto ever! Saw him live twice in Pittsburgh, and it was just amazing. I also have to give credit to Timothy Scott who originatied the role on Broadway, and Wayne Sleep who originatied the role in London. I also think Mistoffelees is just the cutest kitty ever, in my opinon. Some of the facial expressions are just adorable that he makes, and he can be funny at times as well. For example right at the begining of Jennyanydots' song the Gumbie Cat. Aww, just so cute and funny. I also find him very fun to write about because he is in the in between stage of kitten and adult so you can have him act young or older and get away with it because that's Stoff. He is my main favorite character in this show. I know I said they where listed in no particular order, and I swear after this they aren't.)
- Victoria (She is just so graceful and beautiful to watch dance.)
- Pouncival (He is... well he is just Pounc. Funny, cute, and totally adorable. He is a character who will always make you smile. Also just a little fun side note: Before Jacob Brent played Mistoffelees he played Pouncival and understudied Mistoffelees. Just a little fun fact... you know.)
- Tumblebrutus (He is basically and older version of Pounc in my opinion, yet a little bit brighter about some of the choices he makes. So I basically love him the same reason I love Pounc. Cute and Funny.)
- Alonzo (He is just a pretty cool cat. I mean he jokes around a lot with the other young toms; however, if he needs to step up and help Munkustrap protect the tribe he can. I also find Alonzo to be funny at times.)
- My favorite couple are Mistoffelees and Victoria. I know many people also like to veiw them as brother and sister, and I do not mind reading stories when they are not a couple, because I I can see were they get that idea from. So them not being paired up doesn't bug me.
- As I said above I love all the characters because they are all so unique in their own way, and that is what got me into fanfiction. I love to see how everyone veiws the cats and what they think of them and so on. Cats is my all time favorite musical, and now you know why. Also, if you are into Cats I have a website that I made for the musical. It is about a year old, and continues to grow. Here is the link if you are interested in checking it out; URL: www.freewebs.com/mistoffelees980 so stop by and check it out sometime. The memory of this show will truly last forever.
In The Heights:
- I love the musical In The Heights, because it is different. Unlike most musicals it takes place today. I love all the characters and the stories they have to tell. I also enjoy the music; Lin Manuel Miranda did an amazing job composing all the songs. I can't say much more about it, because I have never seen it live. I have only listened to the music and saw clips on youtube, but I fell in love with it right away. My favorite character is named below:
- Usnavi (He is the main character, so that probally made him even more likeable; however, Lin Manuel Miranda just does an amazing job protraying this character and the faces and just the way he acts is just a pleasure to watch.)
- As I said before, I can't say much more about it because I have never seen it live; however, it just opened on Broadway in... March... I think it was of this year (2008) and I am planing to go see it many times in the long run I know it will have, because the music is just amazing and the stories told up on that stage are fabulous.
Avenue Q:
- Hm... Avenue Q, I don't know where to start. Hehe. I basically love this show because it is just flat out hilarious. There are very few moments in that show when you are not laughing, and that's because you are not ment to laugh there because a sad little scene is going on like when Rod tells Christmas Eve how he misses Niki. My two favorite characters are listed below:
- Rod (A republican who is a closeted investment banker on Wall Street... just put that together. Hehe. No, I also love Rod because he is just hilarious to listen to and watch. Also he is an adorable pupet, how could you not love him?)
- Want to find out more about Rod? Here is a funny little interveiw that I found on youtube: URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vjj48YS2QNk
- Princton (He is just a guy trying to figure out his life, and well he is main character so you have to love him. Also, he is a pupet just like Rod so he's cute too.)
- Want to find out more about Princton? Here is a funny interveiw that I found on youtube: URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeGP06Vo0uE&feature=related
- So yeah, this is a funny musical, and just such a joy to watch. That's why Avenue Q is one of my top five.
The Phantom of the Opera:
- Ahh, another Andrew Lloyd Webber musical! Yup, another one. Andrew is just talented with the way he sets the words to music. That is one reason I love Phantom; for the music. I also enjoy the love story between him and Christine. My favorite character is named below:
- The Phantom ( Haha, bet you never would have guessed that! Hehe. Anyways, I don't know what it is, but ever since I first saw this musical I was instently able to relate to him. Also, you can't help but love him, I mean he is just so cute and you just feel so bad for him that you want to crawl up onto stage and give him a hug. Also another little side note: The Phantom's name is Eric! Just a little fun fact for all you fans out there.)
- Not much left to say but this musical is just amazing! Keep it going baby, you are still in the lead for longest running musical!(It saddly past Cats a year or two ago (I think it was that. I am really bad at time things like that) But hey it is still Andrew Lloyd Webber so go, go, go!)
Wicked:
- I can't say much about this musical because I have never seen it live, but if all goes acording to plan I will be seeing it this year. Yes! The thing I like about this play is the music. My favorite characters are listed below:
- Fiyero (I can't say much again because I have never seen it live, but through the songs he seems like he would be a pretty good character.)
- Elphaba (Same as Fiyero really. She sounds like a really neat character.)
- Galinda/ Glinda (She just reminds me so much of my sister. The song Popular that she sings is totally my sister. She just resembles her so much.)
- Anyways, I guess that's it for Wicked. I can't wait to see it live so I can change the reasons why I like the characters. So basically it's the music that puts this musical into my top five.
Well I guess that's a wrap on all of my favorite musicals. Another thing that I enjoy is books. My one all time favorite books are listed below:
The Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer:
- She is just such a talented writter, and the world she creates is just amazing. Below are my three favorite characters, and I know you all can probally guess who they are:
- Edward Cullen (We all knew this one was coming. Edward is my all time favorite character in the books, and I think all of you can guess why. He is just purrfect! Every girls dream man. Stephenie just did such an amazing job creating him in my opinion. He is Edward that's why I like him. He is just to amazing to describe... well you fangirls know that.)
- Bella Swan (Yes, we all love her, despise her, wish we were her. I like her because she is just so normal, and I can totally relate to her. I also just love her attitude and the way she treats Jacob Black and Edward. Basically, she is pretty cool. huddles into a large group of girls and begings to plan their next atempt to take Bella out... when Edward is not there of course... then gets ready to blam it on someone else so Edward doesn't kill her.)
- Jacob Black (I like Jacob because he is always thinking about Bella and what's best for her... well let me reword that... what he thinks is best for her. Either way he is always trying to do what he thinks is the right thing; however, he bugged me so bad in Eclipse the way he would pick at Edward. Oh... Anyways, I am sorry to say this, but I am not a team Jacob fan. I am Edward all the way; however, I am a fan of Jacob but I am way more for Edward when it comes to who Bella is with. Sorry Jacob girls.)
- So yeah, the Twilight Series (Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn... and if you want to count Edward's version of Twilight than Midnight Sun as well (can't wait till that book comes out)) is pretty awsome.
The Host by Stephenie Meyer:
- What can I say, she is just a talented writer and once you start one of her books you can't stop. My favorite characters are listed below:
- Jared (Not much to say about him other than he is awsome. For those of you who have not read this in my opinon he is basically like The Host's Edward. Hehe. So yeah, he is just awsome.)
- Melanie (She is just a strong girl and that's something I just have to giver her credit for.)
- Wanda (Strong girl as well, putting up with her host body's brain (Mel) for all that time.)
- Jamie ( He is Mel's little brother and he is just cute. You can't help but to fall in love with him instantly.)
- Yeah, talented writter!
Another thing I am a fan of is sitcoms. My all time favorite sitcom is listed below.
Will and Grace:
- It is just a really funny sitcom about four friends. It is just amazing! My favorite character from that show is named below:
- Jack McFarland (Sean Hayes just did a fantasic job with this character. Everything he did; his facial expressions, the way he would say certian things; it was just so funny. Him being so funny made this character so easy for me to love.)
- So yeah, this show is just funny. They play reruns of it now on the CW and on Lifetime. So if you get time check it out.
Well I guess that is all my favorite things. I do plan to be writting fanfiction in all these areas; however, I am somewhat new to fanfiction so it may take me a while. Some of the stories I wrote are listed here:
- Two Tails
- Two Tails was just kind of a skeletion for a story idea I had. I am curently rewriting it and adding more detail and all that good stuff. This fanfiction was writen for Cats; the musical.
- Marvolous Mistoffelees and Pounding Pouncival
- MMAPP was a fun little flash fiction that I had to write for creative writing. I do plan to make it into a longer fiction when I get the time. This... incase you have not figured out by the title... is a fanfiction for Cats as well.
So those are the only two stories I have posted here on Fanfiction; however, I am making a lot of changes to them and have a lot of ideas, so there will be many stories someday about all the things we talked about above: My favorite musicals, books, and sitcom.
Well Jellicles, I guess that concludes my profile, and I think it's a good thing too because if I had talked any longer we would be here till the next Jellicle Ball. Hehe. I hope you enjoyed reading over my profile and thanks for stoping by. Later Jellices.
Purrs,
Mistoffelees980
