I've fallen in love with Harry Potter fanfiction and am now attempting to write it myself... it's a process since I'm an adept in the language of science, not standard English. I love creature and bonding stories, as well as powerful!Harry. I'm not really that into angst right now, but there are times that I am. I adore HPDM and HPSS and most slash really. Honestly, pair Harry with a Slytherin boy and I'm happy as a clam. I really dislike HPGW for some reason :shrugs:. My pet peeve? Misspellings of homonyms!!

1) Apocalypse by julesmonster: This is a creature!Harry story and is decidedly dark. Harry learns about Dumbledore's unforgivable manipulations and created his own faction becoming Lord Abraxas. Main pairings are HPSS and HPLM.

2) For Services Rendered by Quill Lumos: A singularly original fic in my opinion. After saving the Master Vampire from a very nasty sunburn, Severus Snape was gifted with a beautiful slave named Farid. He brings him back to Hogwarts, unable to break the slave bond forced upon them by the vampires. Little did they know, this quiet, shy and loyal slave was the saviour that had been missing for the last 10 years. Once this information comes out, all hell breaks loose.

3) Destiny Turns by julesmonster: Harry never made it to Hogwarts for his first year, so what happens when Severus Snape finds him turning tricks in the red light district of London? A decidedly Slytherin Harry joins Hogwarts and creates his own faction in the looming war. grey!Harry for sure.

4) Blood Bonds by Phoenyx: Severus Snape had been without his mate for 18 years and had lost hope of ever finding them, until one night another vampire came into their inheritance. Quite an interesting story, really. HPSS vamp!dom!Harry vamp!sub!Snape

5) Black Magic by Moonlight by Beren: A Harry Potter / Anita Blake crossover. "Harry Potter could find trouble in paradise and when Draco sends him to St Louis for a holiday it's not paradise and there's lots of trouble. With dark magic, vampires, lycanthropes and more, who else could sort it out but Anita Blake?" Main pairing: HPDM

6) Angels and Devils by Beren: Harry defeated Voldemort, but with some unexpected consequences. Now he has to deal with a previously unknown creature inheritance and a growing attraction cum obsession with one veela Draco Malfoy. HPDM

7) Corruption, Distortion, and Alteration by Beren: A three part story. "Voldemort has captured Harry and for his own twisted reasons has chosen not to kill him outright. Revenge in the Dark Lord's mind requires a fate worse than death and Harry is about to find out what that is." multicreature!Harry HPDM

8) Into the Light of the Dark Black Night by shanfawn16: Post HBP. After months on the run, Draco finds himself sent to the Order by a dying Snape. Soon, Draco finds himself brewing potions for the Order at Grimmauld Place with none other than Remus and the Golden Trio. What happens when he and Harry start becoming friends, and then something more? A rather soft and slow romance, no real angst and some drama. Shallow plot but a nice, calming read. HPDM

9) A Different Kind of Pureblood by Nilessa: "With the Order of the Phoenix gone, Harry has no more protection with the abusive Dursleys. He expects to be murdered. What he doesn't expect is to be rescued by an equally helpless Draco Malfoy, who's been disowned for becoming a vampire!" HPDM

10) Yoked by charlottesometimes: "Losing a bet to Ron, Harry must enslave himself to the next person that comes around the corner. Harry finds a way to turn the game around to get what he wants out of it." A fun little story. HPDM

11) Knives Out by charlottesometimes: "Several years after the death of Voldemort, a depressed Harry Potter decides to rejoin the world of the living, only to run into his old nemesis Draco Malfoy in a Muggle gay club where things are not as they seem." Make no mistake, this is a really sad story. It gives a poignant view on AIDS, truly putting a face and romance to the disease. This story more or less changed my life. HPDM

12) Gypsy Caravan by witchdragon: "Five year old Harry Potter overhears his Aunt complaining to his Uncle about the "freaks" camping nearby. Maybe if they are the same type of "freak" he is they will want him?" Oh how I love this story! I had the thought of writing about gypsies and this story meets and exceeds anything I'd want to do. A nice long HPDM that covers Harry's life from 5 to 17. Wonderful!

21 August 2009 I think I'm finally over my pneumonia. Whew... and got my car back. School has started, but given my background I doubt it'll be too hard, so the only thing standing in my way now is writer's block!
