Author has written 31 stories for NCIS, Transformers, and Star Trek: 2009. Well, hello thar! I figured I should do a proper profile, so here it is. I'm a nerd. I proudly admit it. And, fic has become something of guilty pleasure for me of late. As a chronic insomniac, it's what I do when the rest of the sane world is sleeping. I've lurked on this site since around 2001, finally getting off my duff to join in 2007. Since the completion of my first story in November of 2009, I've been bitten by the rabid plotbunnies for NCIS, Transformers, Glee and most recently the Star Trek reboot, so it appears my muse shows no signs of letting up. In the last couple of months, I feel like I've settled into myself as a writer. I still think I have a far ways to improve, but I feel I've found my niche. Specifically, that niche is crack!fic and procedural type drama case files. Now, that doesn't mean I won't ever take a stab at angst (take a look at "Every Fifteen Minutes" or "Purple Heart, respectively), but it means I know where I'm comfortable and I know what I do best. I'm a nut in real life, and I tend to be the class clown. I like to laugh, and I enjoy making others laugh. If I can do that through fic, I'm happy. If you guys enjoy my whacked and warped brain and downright dirty sense of humor, then I'm glad and welcome to the insanity. I'll pretty much read any fandom so long as I'm familiar with it. As long as the stories and well written and well thought out, I'll like them. I don't like to limit myself just because of who or what. I'll read gen, het or slash; again, just as long as it's well written and the canon characters act like themselves. I once said that I'd never create an OC as a romantic match to a canon character, but I guess that's a way I think I can say I've improved as a writer. Cop!Chris Pike seemed like he needed a wife, so I gave him one. And I really, really like her. I am an absolute perfectionist, and I will not post something I feel is inferior in any way. I'm know I'm not the greatest writer, but when I do post, I can say I'm happy with what I'm posting. I dig any kind of feedback - positive, neutral, whatever you want to leave. Even flames really don't bother me, mainly because if you take the time to review my stuff, even if you think it's shit, that's still feedback for me that tells me what I should be improving. For those of you that enjoy what I've written, thank you and I'm quite humbled. About me: I'm a 30 year old chick who lives in what most folks in the US of A call the armpit of the frozen north (Minnesota). I grew up playing hockey (c'mon! I'm Minnesotan!) and the love for hockey has never left me. Because of that, I spend the vast majority of my spare time in a rink doing something with the game. I pretty much like anything a girl isn't supposed to like, including motorcycles (hence my pen name) and things that make satisfyingly loud noises. In the two weeks that is Minnesota summer, I cruise around on the bike in my userpic. I grew up around horses, and rode competitively in dressage for over a decade. Other than that, I'm fairly bubbly and very outgoing. I'm sarcastic and witty, but I don't take anything (myself included) too seriously. Life is too short for that kind of stuff. So, thanks for stopping by and wasting five minutes of your life you'll never get back reading my profile. If you're so inclined, drop me a PM or whatever if you have questions. Otherwise, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show. Awesome betas are awesome. Seriously. For all my Star Trek stories, mine is Livejournal's Wicked Jade. I owe her oodles upon oodles of thanks for both holding my hand as my muses have decided they want to try character-driven pieces and angst (most often times together), and for putting up with my Kirk-like personality in general. I couldn't do it without you my dear, so thank you. Also, if you all love good fic and you're into slash, go check her stuff out. She makes me look like a clueless noob. Yanno? Find someone better and your shit won't suck is what I've discovered. ;) So, I think I've actually managed to create a 'verse with this whole Star Trek cop AU. I was told by a good friend that I should put this running list thingy here on my profile so I don't confuse y'all. I hope it helps, and expect this to get added to as I write more AU stories. As a note, I didn't write any of these fics in sequential order, and they certainly weren't posted that way, either. I can't do linear writing. It's just not me. But anyway, here's the sequential list for the cop!verse as of right now. 1. Every Fifteen Minutes Also, thanks to the amazing and awesome Kilala10 over on Livejournal, the Cop!verse now has art! Check out the art for Accidentally on Purpose here, and for Words for Pictures here. It's beyond win. Post Script: Story Update: 28 April 2013 I think the WIP update can be made with one sentence this time, sadly. The zombie!verse owns my muses now. In a little more detail, I have a couple of ideas for oneshot cop!verse stories, but the zombie!verse is where the creativity is at for now. I just go with the flow. It's easier not to fight it. I found when I forced things, the writing turned out to be absolute crap. And that? That's about ten pounds of fail, which is not cool with yours truly. Anyway, see below for the SITREP on my muses' insanity. Here's what you all can look forward to in the (hopefully) not too distant future: 1.Triple Full (Star Trek Canon AOS): McCoy might be a cranky, snarky bastard, but even he's not immune to 'proud papa' moments when it comes to Joanna. It would have been nice if she'd picked a sport that wouldn't scare him into a heart attack, but beggars can't be choosers. Stories that might get finished before the end of 2013: 1. Officer Involved (Star Trek Cop!Verse AU): Pike thought he was done killing when he traded in his desert BDUs for a civilian police officer’s uniform. He was wrong. Other shit in a perpetual state of disarray: 1. All Expenses Paid: I have chapters seven, eight, nine and part of ten completed. I'm thinking that, when I'm finally done with this one, it'll be about twelve or thirteen chapters, depending on how long the chapters end up getting. I'm not going to post anything else on this story until I finish it. I'm sorry. I go back and make too many changes when I think of something I like better, and it's too hard to keep straight what I've posted and what I can still change in the continuity vein. I'm putting this one on indefinite hiatus for now, but I swear on Bayverse Starscream's cowardice, I will finish it. Take care! | |||||||
