Kissy Fishy (born April 6, 1995) is a writer for Fanfiction.net and eventually some big publishing company once she completes one of her original works. She is of Irish, Native American, and Arabic descent, and is most famous for her writings in the Pokemon and Phineas and Ferb fandoms, although she does enjoy other fandoms as well. She posts on the forum The Awesome Club, and has a DeviantArt account under a similar name. Her hobbies include drawing, watching movies, reading books and manga, writing, and jumping on her trampoline.

And yes, she now wears a top hat. Those who fear such things are recommended to turn back now.

Early life

Fishy was born in California, where she lived for three months before moving to an undisclosed location in the land of potatoes. She took piano lessons several times, though always quit before she got any good. At the age of eight, she decided that writing was her passion and began to compose novels. None of these ever reached more than a page, and have possibly all been burned. At ten, Fishy joined swim team, and although she’s not very good at it, continues to swim today. When she reached freshman year of high school, she managed to get a 91% on a test given by the most evil math teacher of all time, and received a “Wow!” sticker for this achievement.

Career

In 2008, Fishy posted her very first Fanfiction story, Tears of a Mermaid for the fandom of Mermaid Melody. This was in no means her first fanfic, but it was the first one she ever completed. A little over a week later, she published her first Pokemon fanfic, What Will I Do Today? After that, she grew interested in Kingdom Hearts, despite never having played the game, and wrote her first oneshot, Surprises, Luck, and Glass Dragons.

“It’s definitely not my best,” Fishy states. “I tried to do a oneshot and failed miserably.”

From there, her love for Kingdom Hearts grew, and soon she posted The Past, Present, and Things to Come (now titled Times Have Changed). It was the first multichapter story of considerable length that Fishy actually completed.

“I thought it would have more success than it did,” said Fishy while being interviewed by Meredith Vieira. “So I took it down, revised it, and posted it again.”

The story did have more success the second time around, though it did not rekindle Fishy’s interest in Kingdom Hearts. Instead, she took a break and worked on her original stories. However, her love for Avatar: the Last Airbender came back when the show’s third season aired. After careful consideration, she began writing an Avatar fanfic, but as the show stopped airing on Nickelodeon, she lost her interest in the story and abandoned it. Today, it is her only posted story to remain incomplete.

Another thing that intervened with the completion of The Lightbenders, Fishy’s Avatar fic, was her nostalgic relapse into Tintin. She completed a story for the Tintin fandom entitled Tintin in Japan.

“I heard about the movie and just had to write a fic,” says Fishy. “I spent hours going over my old Tintin books just to spell names!”

After Tintin, Fishy was introduced to Mork and Mindy, resulting in a tragic two-shot entitled Goodbye. Later, she encountered the 1990’s movie The Avengers, and decided to check out the show. This led to several fics being written about the romance between John Steed and Emma Peel, including the two published works of American Conspiracy and Emery Lynn. Fishy greatly enjoyed writing these, though their success was less than satisfactory.

A month later, when April Fool’s Day was naught but days away, Fishy had been rereading her copies of the Twilight books (which she would turn into a smoldering pile of ashes had she not paid for them herself) (and yes, she read them twice) and decided to write a parody of the awful series. Thus, Fishy’s first successful oneshot was born!

However, Fishy had been playing Platinum around that same time, and her love for Pokemon was growing again. By the time April Fool’s Day was published, Fishy had eight chapters of The Legend of the Sky Cat composed and ready for publishing. She took a great leap of faith by publishing the first chapter before the story was complete, since it wound up being the downfall of her Avatar story.

“Boy, was I surprised when I got all those reviews on just the first chapter!” laughs Fishy. “I think the reviews are what spurred me on to finish Sky Cat.”

After a mere five months (with the oneshot of By His Side published in the meantime), Sky Cat was completed, and Fishy was sad to see it go. But despite the end of her most successful piece of work, a new idea had struck her, and her current fic, Cold Blooded Killers, came to be.

Fishy also published her very first songfic not long after CBK, called Misery. She began writing several Pokemon stories, many of which are yet to be published.

Around August of 2010, Fishy gained access to satellite television, reintroducing her to the shows she used to watch and something entirely new: Phineas and Ferb.

“I had no idea what to expect with P&F,” said Fishy during an interview with Oprah and Dr. Oz. “I’d never seen it before, and it totally turned my life around. My love for the show (and Doofenshmirtz) grew every time I watched it. I started out not wanting anything to do with the fandom, until I clicked on it. It was then I realized that I was destined to write great things in that fandom.”

Kissy Fishy has written only oneshots for P&F, although she has stated she intends to write a multichaptered high school fic for the fandom. Her oneshots have been more successful than she had originally imagined, and she plans on writing many more for the fandom. She recently published a oneshot entitled To Every Bad Writer this Fandom has, in which she addressed the most pressing problems of fanfics today. To comedian Daniel Tosh while at the annual Fanfiction Faux-cars, Fishy stated in a tone no less than shocked, "I totally expected to get a lot of hate for that, not a bunch of praise calling me a hero and even an adoption offer."

To honor the New Year, Fishy posted her sarcastic tragedy Burn for the Phineas and Ferb fandom, stating she only did so "so I could have something that said 'Published: 1-1-11'."

On July 16, 2011, Fishy completed Cold Blooded Killers and announced the up and coming sequel The Indigo Connection. It has just been started, but Fishy is eager to write it.

Fishy has several friends on FF.net, including the color is blinding, can't-help-but-fall, and Amber Ice Fox. These are all people she knows personally and respects, despite the differing preferences in fandoms. Amber Ice Fox is most commonly stated as her editor or assistant, and often reads Fishy's writings before they are published. The two are very good friends, along with the color is blinding, and do their best to promote each other's stories.

Personal Life

Fishy has a happy family, and enjoys swimming every day with her team. She is still in school, hates it, and wishes it would die. Currently, she is 5’ ” tall, something she intends to rise above. She wears a size 6 shoe and has what her friends call “perfect little kid hands.”

Her favorite style of music is alternative rock, making her favorite bands Muse, Green Day, All Time Low, My Chemical Romance, Taylor Swift, Jason Mraz, Franz Ferdinand, The Veronicas, All-American Rejects, Flyleaf, Avril Lavigne, Maroon 5, Tokio Hotel, Linkin Park, The Kooks, Matchbox Twenty, Rise Against, Puddle of Mudd, Ludo, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, and 30 Seconds to Mars. She also enjoys Korean, Japanese, German, and French music, including Alizee, Peter Fox, Janne da Arc, Super Junior, After School, SHINee, and 2NE1.

Her favorite authors and people who inspire her to write are J.K. Rowling, James Patterson, Michael Crichton, Neil Gaiman, Michael Grant, Lewis Carol, Libba Bray, Meg Cabot, Rick Riordan, Herge, Michele Jaffe, Cory Doctorow, and Suzanne Collins.

Fishy has stated that, should she become famous, there are several people she would like to meet. These include Michael Crichton (“but THAT'S never gonna happen”), Mrs. Peel (“even though she's fictional”), John Steed, J. K. Rowling (“because she inspired me to write”), Steven Spielberg, the band of Muse, Billie Joe Armstrong, Brad Pitt, Ryan Seacrest, Johnny Depp, Neil Gaiman, Cary Elwes, Arnold Schwarzeneggar, Tom Felton, Nicolas Cage, Jesse McCartney, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, Steve Carell, Tina Fey, and Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson “so I can punch them in the FACE.”

Fishy is a Christian, and is very firm in her beliefs. She hopes to learn to play the piano someday, since, despite all her lessons, she can only play with one hand.

Kissy Fishy has revealed her first name to be Sammy, although she has been known to go by KF, Luvdisc, and Dolphin. In her fic To Every Bad Writer this Fandom has, Fishy revealed herself to be fifteen years old. This has come as quite a shock to some people, but is the truth. Now, the cake? That's a lie (citation needed).

As a latest interest, Fishy has started watching the hit TV series Doctor Who, claiming, "David Tennant is hot, and so is Matt Smith." She has stated her interest in writing a fanfiction for the series, but has resisted.

"I don't know the series well enough yet," she says.

Now, Fishy has been introduced to Prince of Tennis and Ouran High School Host Club, along with Fullmetal Alchemist. "You can definitely expect PoT fics," Fishy told the press last Wednesday, "and possibly a slightly inappropriate Ouran fic. I am withholding watching Fullmetal due to TIC needing to be worked on."

In 2011, Fishy posted The Broken Mind, her Prince of Tennis fanfic. Also, with the release of the Tintin movie, her interested in the franchise was renewed, and she posted a oneshot about the series' Professor Calculus.

"He gets no love," Fishy stated in the author's note of the oneshot.

Fishy has also announced that a multi-chapter Tintin story can be expected, with, "conspiracies, crazies, and lots of adventure." She also stated she intends to post it before the completion of The Indigo Connection. Many speculation has been raised about this, most of it concern about her finishing either story. It is possible she will be pushing herself too hard, "what with school and all, but I think it will be good for me."

Another interesting development in Fishy's life is her exposure to the BBC show Sherlock. "Dear God," she stated in an interview with her personal Dalek, "where has this been all my life?" Rumor has it there may be fics to come in this fandom, along with Doctor Who involving an OC, but "not for a while."
