Author has written 8 stories for Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Harry Potter. Hmm. My bio's been bugging me for ages. It's just so...boring. Ah well, here, let's try and spice it up a bit...
Okay--age--um, well, let's just say that the last time I got carded at a bar was about four years ago, and I was REALLY happy. Sex--female (pretty obvious if you've read any of my stuff). Marital status--still together after 11 years and two kids. Occupation--I was an accountant for 12 years, but am now a stay-at-home-mom (I think that's the least offensive term I can think of, although it still makes me cringe).
As for my writing background... I never took a creative writing class in college (didn't want to bring down my precious G.P.A.), but I did get an "A" in Expository Writing and Business Writing. I wrote a bit in high school (terrible, lousy stuff still sitting in a faded red folder in my old bedroom at my parents' house). I began writing fanfiction in December 2001 after giving up the career to focus on raising normal, well-adjusted children (yes, I read a lot of those child psychology books) as an outlet (and a way to get nice pats on the back for jobs well done, aka feedback). The only problem I ran into with this new little 'hobby' of mine is that it can become an obsession (uh huh). So, lately, I've decided to lay off and write only in moderation. Unfortunately, I think that sets one up for 'writers' block' which I think I have (although, it could just be laziness).
Anyway, this is a lot longer than I intended. I highly doubt that anyone will even read this or find it remotely interesting, but, oh well, I think it's better than what I had up previously.
Also, just wanted to add that I'm still deeply indebted to "Saka", my beta reader, who has taught me gallons about grammar, style, and writing basics.

Not sure if anyone out there will even read this, but I wanted to say that I am officially blocked. I've tried picking up both "Ghosts" and "Twelfth of Never" and it's no go. I just end up getting frustrated and very crappy writing is the result. Anyway, I just wanted to let anyone who is still interested in these unfinished stories know what's going on. I'm truly sorry to leave them hanging like this. I'm still remotely hopeful that I'll be able to pick up these stories one day and get inspired, but until then they'll be sitting indefinitely. Again, I apologize. |
