IF I LAST THROUGH THE WINTER, I SWEAR TO YOU NOW I WON'T CALL.
For a long, long time, I tried searching for myself in far off places, only to finally discover I'm right where I'm supposed to be. I don't need three layers of eyeliner, skinny jeans, and screaming music to feel like I belong. In fact, that isolated me more. I love using acquaintances for parties, drinking, and drugs, and I don't mind one bit when they use me to feel like someone actually cares. I know what I don't deserve and I definitely know what I do. I know what its like to break a heart and cheat on boys. I've experienced what it's like to pick the complete, heartless boy over the safer, more reliable choice and witness firsthand my mistake spit in my face in the end. I know how it feels to regret being with someone and being someone's regret. I can decipher between the blurry line of being used and being loved. I can recall every single time I've been called the general bitch label to more specific ones, like a home-wrecking whore or a two-timing slut. I've seen my reputation be flushed down the toilet and I've seen the look in stranger's eyes when they realize that, maybe, I'm not as bad as everyone else said. I've seen the people I love the most, break their lives apart with alcohol and drugs. I'm realizing now the stupidity my football friends get themselves into; how they're completely immature to the point they should still be in grade school, the pathetic truth that they can't hold their alcohol and weed if their lives depended on it, and that I wouldn't trade them for anything in this world. I can feel the humiliation when I laugh too much with my friends I cry. I still can't breathe when I think of the deaths I've witnessed the past four years, nor do I understand why they occurred in the first place. And I know that I'd be absolutely nothing without my friends or my family.
