Disclaimers... Disclaimer of capability: I'd like to think that I am a good author. I have a good grasp on conventions and develop characters at a believable pace, or so I think, but I'm not great. Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm trying to be realistic about my capabilities here. Disclaimer of personality flaws: I am arrogant. If you compliment me, I am overjoyed or wondering what the hell you're that makes you think I'm any good. If I get any constructive criticism, I am either even happier (because someone is actually analyzing my work), indignant (because I'm in a mood), or else sad (because it proved I was right about not being a great author).
