Author has written 5 stories for 9, Twilight, and Harry Potter.

Hallo world, I'm Artemis. And, erm, I'm a huge nerd.

Favorites

Fandoms: Harry Potter (especially Marauders era, RemusxSirius), Firefly, Ouran HSHC (it's a guilty pleasure), 9, Havemercy. I'm not lovingly dedicated to any others right now, but I'll read just about any fanfiction about anything I like, provided it's well written.

Books: Ender's Game, Poison Study, Wildwood Dancing, Harry Potter, Uglies, anything by Shannon Hale, almost anything by Tamora Pierce, The Healer's Keep/The Light of the Oracle, A Great and Terrible Beauty, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, East, Me Talk Pretty One Day, Ivy, et cetera.

Music: This one's hard. I'll like anything with interesting lyrics. Trashy mainstream pop and rap are not for me, though I do have the good sense to admit that there is some good pop in existence (if not the most current pop). I have a special fondness for symphonic metal, as well. Rock, in general, is good, especially if it has a fun beat that I can dance to, but stupid lyrics will ruin ANYTHING for me. On the opposite side of that, something with a darker sound that I can get inspired with is also excellent, as long as it's not too dark (screamy, death metal singing is bad, but heavy guitars are fine). Currently, I'm addicted to Red Hot Chili Peppers, especially the song Scar Tissue (which I associate with the RemusxSirius pairing, and you should too).

TV: Easy. Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, House, Gilmore Girls, Ouran HSHC, Monty Python's Flying Circus, and Star Trek:TNG.

Movies: 9, Serenity, Miss Potter, Moulin Rouge, Pan's Labyrinth, Star Wars, Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog, Pride and Prejudice (2005), Dark Knight, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Life of Brian, The Princess Bride, Beauty and the Beast, X-Men, and, um, I can't think of the rest. But there are a ton. I love movies.

Webcomics: xkcd, Questionable Content, Save Hiatus, Boy Meets Boy, Dinosaur Comics.

So yes, you see. Huge fcking nerd. Trekkie. Browncoat. Ad nauseum. Writing is my curse - I write even when I'm too lazy to do so. Especially when I'm not supposed to be doing so. You know, like in math class, when my notes mysteriously transmogrify into a story. How in the world did that happen? >_>

Random Unsolicited World Views (aka RANTS)

On slash: It is the one thing that can turn an intelligent conversation with me into a ridiculous round of fangirl squees. It makes the world prettier. And in real life, gay couples are just as okay with me, though I will most likely refrain from...squeeing about them. I have a best friend who doesn't believe that homosexuality is right due to her religious views, so I have to contain the rest of my rant on this subject. But guys, if you ever want to argue with me on that point, I have a ton of ammo that I would love to use. Drop me a flame sometime.

On Twilight: If you're a Twilight fan but know that you're an intelligent person, relax, breathe deep, and let it pass. I get it. There are highly addictive drugs laced through every copy in existence. Hello, my name is Artemis, and I've been sober for the last six months. I still have one Twilight story written up here, because I have friends who've convinced me to keep it up, but the other one I wrote is long deleted. I have come to realize that Twilight is a stupid story with horrifically bad grammar, and perhaps soon, so shall you. Bless you, child.

On CTY: Okay, so this is less of a rant and more of a shout-out to the world. Are you one of those wonderful people who has been to Nerd Camp and understands how truly incredible it is? Does American Pie send you into the deepest pits of nostalgia? If so, I would love to hear from you! I'm always on the lookout for connections with fellow nerds. Some of my camp statistics: I just recently completed my Nevermore year. I went to Mount Holyoke for two years, and Skidmore for four years. At baby CTY I took the Creative Writing and Scriptwriting classes (I can't remember their exact course names). After that I took Crafting the Essay, Lit. and the Arts, Fiction, and Philosophy of Mind. And I've played Silent Football! XD

On school: I like learning. I think it's fun to find out new things about the world. Even math is fun on occasion. But the system that secondary schools everywhere follow is wrong. If you teach us something for the purpose of passing a test, we are going to forget it the moment we hand in that test paper. If you have an hour to cram knowledge down our throats, stick to your time slot. We have a slew of other teachers who all hold the belief that their class is the only thing we have to focus on, and there just isn't enough time in the afternoon to devote an hour of homework to every single class. We have other obligations, other things that we want to do, that colleges will want to see. And I refuse to stay up until 2 AM to get it all done, only to drag myself out of bed at 5:30 and start it all over. The school system is messed up, and that's the reason teenagers these days are so stressed all the time.

On stitchpunk kissing: For fans of 9 only. SPOILER WARNING. I started shipping these characters before the movie had even ended, just because they're so well done and endearing and interesting. But I was a little wary on the more...physical parts of ships. BUT never fear, I have come up with a theory. So they all contain bits of a human soul, right? That means that they all have human emotions, probably including romantic impulses. Combine that with sufficiently humanoid bodies, and voila! our little stitchpunks are makin' teh kisses. I really don't know if I could justify them going much further than that, considering a simple lack of necessary...parts. But you see my logic, non?

If you do NaNoWriMo, my account name is Artemis Rampant, and I would love more writing buddies. My Script Frenzy account is under the same name.

If you're on LiveJournal, my name is artemisrampant. If you enjoy useless rants about nothing, then you'll like my journal! If you don't, you're probably a cool person with a life, and I should probably endeavor to follow your example.

And...that should about do it for this here profile. See those stories down there? I HOPE YOU LIKE FLUFF, BECAUSE THAT'S ALL I HAVE POSTED. At least it's a nice little smorgasboard of fandoms, right? Smorgasbord. Heh. I like that word. Also, you should check out my favorite authors, because I'm personally friends with all those lovely ladies, and they deserve some love in the form of reviews.
