What is the Cookie League? It's just the name we gave to our little band of talented writers, compliments of Ms. Hellopants. It began in early in 2008 when HP and I started talking Twilight. We ended up tossing a few ideas around and coming up with Home Improvement Cullen Style - a short and very funny account of what happens when you put Emmett together with an M-80, and then unleash the Cullen clan inside of a home improvement store. It's was fun to write and it's even more fun to read in my humble opinion. It's posted under Hellopants' profile, so be sure to click on over and give the story a read. While you're there, you should also spare some time for The Curse of the Smiley. It's very cute and full of great jokes and pranks, as well as the sweetness we've all come to expect with Edward and Bella. HP just gives it a little edge.

We cookies share many of the same interest in books, movies, and television shows. We have written a series of one-shots together, looking at the lives of the Cullen family from a few unique angles. The stories are posted below under my profile and are sure to get you laughing. At the very least, you'll wonder what kind of chips we put in our cookies. Constructive Criticism versus Just Plain Rudeness

Not every person who views the stories on this site will like every story. That's a given. We all have different tastes, different ideals, different morals - Twilight is often our one commonality.

Constructive Criticism is always welcome, and can often be very helpful to an author. The "constructive" part means that your review or PM talks about an error in grammar, punctuation, or in regards to a certain aspect of the story. Maybe the author put a city in the wrong state. Or maybe a hotel picked is not as nice as the website said it was. A constructive review is factual, concise, polite, and seeks to inform and help, not to trash an author or his/her story.

Now those reviews and PMs that accuse an author of being a horrible person, writer, etc. - those are Just Plain Rudeness. You are not only belittling a person for attempting to provide a story worth reading, you are belittling your own self. If all you do is curse an author or ridicule them in your review, you are showing how immature you are.

Yes, I'm on a soap box about this. And yes, I do think I have the right to say something about it. It's been getting more rampant and should stop. Many new authors, and some old favorites, are getting discouraged and that's just wrong. If you can't constructively criticize, stop reading the story and do not review it. These stories are a privilege, not a right. You are not forced to read them, nor are you forced to reply. Remember, it is the discretion of every author on this site what does and does not go into their story - and the same applies to you if you are writing on this site.

Before you hit that send button, take a moment to read your review. Is it constructive? Is it clear? Would you want someone to send it to you? Just a little forethought and discretion is all that's needed. Thank you.

Update:

Well, obviously some folks have never heard of the golden rule about treating others as they wish to be treated. So I've started a Wall of Shame. It's a place for all authors to rant about the flaming reviews that get under your skin, no matter how much you want to ignore them. If you have a rude review, send it on over and we'll add it to the wall. Why am I doing this? Because I truly hope it will curb the flames flying around Fanfiction, and I'm not talking about my own personal reviews. I'm talking about every author who gets a review that does nothing but flame. You can disagree with an author and even argue a point with them, but you have no right not to be polite about it.
