I love reading fiction, which is why I spend so much time on this site. As such, I have quite a few favorite books. 1984 by George Orwell is one of the best, as is Huxley's Brave New World. Other favorites are the five books in the Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy trilogy by Doug Adams, Dune by Frank Herbert, the Abhorsen trilogy by Garth Nix, The Hobbit and LotR by JRR Tolkien, Nightfall by Isaac Asimov and Robert Silverberg, All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque, The White Plague by (again) Frank Herbert, and The Social Contract by Jean Jacques Rousseau. Calvin and Hobbes books rock. Don't mention Twilight around me unless you want a long lecture about misogyny and very poor roll models for impressionable young females.

Most of my writing is of the nonfiction variety, which is why my list of published stories is rather short. I write quite a bit of stuff on the oh-so-thrilling topics of things like environmental degradation and ancient politics, but those have no place on this site. Novella-writing friends tell me I have to write fiction sooner or later, but as I am now a university student the amount of time I have to do such things has sharply declined.
