Goals: I wanna be a writer. A word-artist :) I want grumpy students to reluctantly read my shit while teachers harp enigmatically about it. I want Ph.D students to overanalyze the food my characters eat, or the clothes they wear, or the reason why I use the word "rush" instead of "flow" to describe a river - because doesn't overanalyzation mean they care? Right? :)
Plans: I am currently a second-year at UC Davis. I am an English major, soon to be doubling with Communications. Whee for back-up careers. If I don't write novels, I'd like to write for something else... music, maybe? I like the idea of working for an indie music zine. I love music - the crazier, the better. I like the idea of helping obscure bands find there niche in the music scene.
About Me: I guess I'm pretty crazy. But really, I'm quite shy. I love people though. I like exploring us, people. Maybe that's why I like to write. My favorite author is William Faulkner. I have a big place in my heart for the Harry Potter books. I love Yu-Gi-Oh! more than what is healthy for a 19-year-old. Ultimate Frisbee is the greatest sport on the planet - and soon, the planet will realize this and make it an Olympic sport. Then maybe I have the chance of being an Olympian. :D
Music: I really really REALLY love Thrice. Their music inspires a lot of what I write, so a warning there, haha. I listen to a lot of different bands - I'm not really a genre kind of girl. Bands that I like include (but are certainly not limited to): Explosions in the Sky, Animals as Leaders (Tosin Abasi is a BEASTLY guitarist), Metric, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Flaming Lips, NOFX, Chiodos, The Mars Volta, Regina Spektor, Frodus, Aiden, Misfits, Schoolyard Heroes, Mad Marge and the Stonecutters, etc.

Potential Plot Bunnies:
These are just ideas that I have had, but haven't put down into words. They may be finished, they may never happen--I don't know.

Yu-Gi-Oh!:

In the Fields of Lotusland: A cross-country thriller/romance. Yuugi/Atemu, Jonouchi/Mai, some brief Yuugi/Anzu and Honda/Shizuka. I'm in the process of writing. I'll probably finish about five or six chapters before I start posting. :D

I also want to write two sequels for Narcissus in Chains that is Ryou/Bakura and Marik/Malik. But I haven't decided whether or not I'm going to. They would be a lot darker than the first one, but then again, the relationships of Ryou and Bakura, and Marik and Malik are a lot darker than the one between Yuugi and Yami. At least, canonically speaking. :D I liked writing partially in the second person. Another option is that I would write one between Seto and Jonouchi. But I like the whole Millenium-Item-Yami Trilogy better, so that plot bunny may never see the light of the computer screen.

I've been actively working out a post-show Azula fic. The finale really made me see Azula in a new light, and I've been dying to play around with her character. :) I'm so twisted, eh?

Pairings (The Ranting Section):

For the most part, I am open to all. One could say I'm the epitome of open-mindedness. But alas, I have my limits. They are thus:

I have a rather strong aversion to Harry/Hermione in the Harry Potter fandom. It just bugs me. I have read some good fics with those pairings though, so I guess it's not all bad. I don't really like Harry/Ginny either, even though it is canon (omgspoiler!). I am stubbornly convinced that Harry and Luna belong together. Or Luna and Neville. In fact, I pretty much support the whoring of Luna Lovegood.

Yami/Anzu makes me physically gag. I will do everything to avoid it, even if it means making a character out-of-character. It's not that I don't like Anzu--really, she is a very underrated character in Yu-Gi-Oh that 4Kids mercilessly destroyed. I like Anzu's character quite a bit, though I seem to use her as a scapegoat for my plots. Oops. But back to reality: I just don't like the pairing. However, Yuugi/Anzu is fine with me, though I don't favor it at all. I'm a Yami/Yuugi kind of girl.

I don't really like Shinji/Misato from NGE. It really bugged me in End of Evangelion. (omgspoileragain!) In fact, End of Evangelion in general annoyed me. The original ending was more satisfying, even though it left a lot of loose ends. Plus, Rei wore clothes for a grand total of 30 seconds in the entire movie. Can you say extreme fanservice? But I digress. Misato is a mother figure for Shinji, not a potential lover. End of story.
