I go by Crescent on here usually, but go ahead and call me whatever you want . . . except late for dinner. (Newsflash: I make really bad jokes!) I'm active mostly in the Harry Potter fandom. If you're on here, chances are you're from there, and if not ... well, you may want to skip the bio :-) So, here's some stuff about myself. I'm sixteen years old . . . female . . . American. I love to write. I have a fictionpress with a couple of my original stories and poems. But if you want to read my best work, stay here. Don't tell me the moon is shining; show me the glint of light on broken glass. -Anton Chekhov recent news: 12/1/09: I won NaNo! And now the end of Constellations is in sight as well. Expect a chaptered fic about the beginnings of the missing seventh year, trio era, coming out sometime (probably a while) after it's completion. 11/1/09: NaNo is here! Which means muchos writing on my "novel", and very little updates on here :( Hopefully I'll still get some Constellations chapters up, now that it feels like the end is in sight. 10/26/09: I just deleted two stories, the one about Harry and Neville (Silent Longing), and my horrible Twilight fic Search for a Memory that I only kept up because it was the first (and only, thus far) chaptered fic I'd completed. First efforts, and all. There's a tiny - very tiny - possibility that I'll rewrite that sometime in the far away future. 8/24/09: Today is the final day of summer vacation. Tomorrow: school :/ 8/12/09: AtDS is being removed for a heavy rewrite. The A/N final chapter I posted for my readers will be up for a few days, and then I'll be deleting the entire story, prewriting most of it, and slowly reposting it. 7/18/09: In the past few weeks, my fanfiction brain has gone on overdrive with drabbles (Between Constallations and Dreams and another mini-chapter fic I haven't published yet) and oneshots (Love You Best, the latest for Days Gone By, To Catch a Dream, Our Time). Unfortunately, AtDS has been sorely neglected :/ So, as I'm going away again for a couple weeks tomorrow, there'll certainly be an update there when I get back, but not before. 6/13/09: Uploaded an edited version of Letter of Love and Seven Things: I Hate You, I Love You, which is now titled You Made Me Love You. That should be the end of the glaringly awful early oneshots :) 6/12/09: Summer vacation just began =) =) =) Which means a lot more time to write!! Except that I'll be away a lot, so expect many updates followed by a couple weeks off. 6/8/09: Slightly edited Heartbeats in the Sunset, and rediscovered the joy of Lily and James, who I used to write all the time, but haven't in ages . . . not since I started a Halloween fic that never got published, actually. The last L/J that ended up on here was published in September! (a bit of useless Crescent history xD ) 5/25/09: Re-posted a much edited version of my first fanfic ever, a Chronicles of Narnia oneshot called Return to the Wardrobe. If you're familiar with the fandom, go ahead and check it out! I love writing. I love the swirl and swing of words as they tangle with human emotions. -James Michener my stories: Right now, I'm having buckets of fun writing Between Constellations and Dreams, where I'm rediscovering my love for Lily, James, Severus, the Marauders, and a bunch of the First Order members. If you like characters that have any relation with Lily, chances are they'll make an appearance somewhere; check the chapter titles if you're looking for someone specific. Several of my more recent oneshots are set in that "universe" as well, although they can all be read stand-alone. Unplanned details seven of Sirius' kisses, including a few of the First Order members that appear in Constellations. Fade is about Emmeline Vance, and it alternates between her death - which has very little to do with Constellations - and moments from each year at Hogwarts, which are subtley connected to it. And lastly, Break is centered around Sirius/Marlene, the closest thing to an OTP I have :-) Number 2: I wrote a Draco/Ginny fic. Color me way way way shocked. AND ... I really enjoyed writing it. It's set at the Yule Ball ... if you feel like stretching JKR's limits, it is canon, except it would never have happened - there's just nothing to say it didn't :) However, although the whole fic is spent setting the two up together, in the end it falls apart, and the last few paragraphs I wrote to sort of say 'and this is why this ship doesn't work'. For a while, I deviated from the Marauders and Harry's year to explore the sisters Black. I have two oneshots so far, both largely metaphorical, that center around the generation. The first, Hidden Away, is about Andromeda and her 'escape' from the family. The second is called Stars, Fallen, based off the idea that Narcissa is the only in her generation of Blacks not named for a constellation. I'm now sort of toying with the idea of writing three more oneshots of similar style; one for Bellatrix, Sirius, and Regulus to round out the set. But at the same time, I don't want to set anything in stone, because the first two just came to me, and I have to wait for something like that for the other three ... My best work? At the moment, my favorite is Break, because I'm in a slight Sirius fangirly and First Order adoring stage, and that satisfies both obsessions :-D There are some chapters in Constellations that I just adore (see: 11-15, 31, 50, 89, 94, and most of the ones involving the First Order). And I like Lion's Dance (the Draco/Ginny) beaucoup for the simple reason that I scarcely ever write anything slightly humorous, or oneshots with a coherent plot. This one has both (hopefully to the first, at least :-) ) But you should definitely have a read and see which is your favorite! Be obscure clearly. -E.B. White I, Crescent, have challenged myself!
