~Ladon
The Idea Behind the Name
Ladon is a dragon in Greek mythology. He was ordered to guard the Garden of the Hesperides. This garden contained the golden apples that Hercules was supposed to obtain for his eleventh labor. In one version of the story Ladon does not come into contact with Hercules at all because Atlas gets the apples for him. In the other Hercules ends up killing the hundred-headed dragon and retrieves the apples himself.
