Author has written 16 stories for Harry Potter, Naruto, Orson Scott Card, and Dresden Files. Personal info: I'm an older reader of Harry Potter who began by reading the books aloud to my young son. I started with HP fanfiction the summer before the publication of Deathly Hallows, in part because I was dissatisfied with how Half Blood Prince played out and I was interested in alternatives that didn't grate so. I appreciate hearing from readers and reply (eventually) to most reviews I receive. While I appreciate candor, I reserve the right to lampoon flames, particularly flames left by anonymous reviewers. (Hint: There's already a layer of indirection with your pseudonym). I receive a ton of help with my writing from the folks over at Alpha Fight Club. Most are far better writers than I. Projects: • A Mother-In-Law's Love, my take on the Harry Potter time travel/Soul Bond trope. Two chapters and a short epilogue remain to be posted. • For the last NaNoWriMo, I penned a Harry Potter/Eternal Champion crossover novel (Michael Moorcock's Elric series). It's complete, clocks in at around 80k words, and is in really rough shape. Theoretically, it could see the light of day one of these days if I catch the bug to edit it. • The sequel (title TBD) to my novel, Dagger and Rose, is being written. • A Harry Potter/Battle Royale (the book, not the film or manga) crossover concept that's still in the ideation stages. I plan to use this as a reward to myself for finishing Dagger and Rose II. It will probably be my last novel-length effort in fanfiction before I turn my attention solely toward original fiction. • Whatever one-shot/short-story ideas that I catch the bug to write. Awards and recognition: Dagger and Rose was a featured story on the now-defunct The Reading Consortium website and forum. My story, Hallows and Pathos, won Best Overall and Best Drama in the SIYE Deathly Hallows contest. (I'm frankly surprised they allowed its publication, given the strong site preference there for fluff and happy endings. My dark, horrific, dystopic tale is a little out of place). Three of my stories (Dagger and Rose, Hallows and Pathos, and The Life of Brian: A Super Harry Parody) have been listed in the august darklordpotter.net Library, a community with exacting, if eclectic, standards. | |||||||||
