Author has written 12 stories for Harry Potter. Hi My name is Robert and I’m a middle aged Scot who got hooked on Harry Potter. I quickly became disillusioned with the later books and don’t even mention that epilogue. Didn’t discover fan fiction until summer 2007 and loved it before finally deciding to give writing a try the following summer. I came up with “A Kiss Can Save The World” and hope you like it. 'Kiss' is not something I would write now but I'm still proud of the story - it was the first I'd ever written! My main pairing will always include Harry / Hermione, I can't seem to write Miss Granger with anyone else and refuse to kill her off. I usually like Ginny but just not with Harry, think Ron’s almost always the comic relief with Luna and Neville being two of the most underused characters in canon. I have real difficulty understanding Jo's interpretation of Albus Dumbledore in the second half of the series. On the one hand he's this all knowing, all powerful, benevolent force for good. On the other hand, he really doesn't help Harry much and continually uses him to his own ends. Umbridge and Slughorn being only two examples of the not helping and using scenarios. Don’t like angst or ‘will they - won't they’ where the stories over before they get together and I love to see the good guys win. Spending hour upon hour reading a story only to be left gutted by the ending is not my idea of fun. You only have to turn on the news for a daily dose of reality, fan fiction is my preferred method of escape from that. As I write purely for my own enjoyment, I'm hardly likely to write something I personally don't like. All my stories will tend to be a mixture of action, adventure and romance with the occasional bit of comedy thrown in before we get to the happy ending. I don't write smut, preferring to take the James Bond movie line where you can figure out what's happening on screen without needing the graphic portrayal. If this doesn't sound like something you would want to read – no problem! There are plenty great stories out there with more than enough room on FFN for everyone. Update 15th June 2012 My new story is proving very popular but I am repeatedly asked how Harry got his name - even though I explained it in the first chapter. Harry came to be in Gringotts due to an esCROW agreement. Ragnok was originally going to call him Young Crow because of this but thought using the term OLD regarding a toddler was funny. Hence, Old Crow. His father calls him Harry so he will remember his other roots - so we have Harry Crow. As to my re-write of Knowledge is Power, I'm putting that project on hold for now. There is a purge on stories that break the rules of FFN at the moment, and posting what is basically the same story twice breaks one of their rules. Update 7 July 2012 After being asked about the availability of my stories in audio format, I now realise that it was rather remiss of me not to post this information earlier. Some of my stories are available as podcasts on iTunes. Potter Heads Anonymous have converted six of my stories, chapter by chapter, using text to speech technology. Serdd actually sat in front of a microphone and recorded each chapter of 'Can't have it both ways'. She did a wonderful job of the fic though it's a really strange feeling listening while someone reads a story you've written. Using the built-in iTunes search facility under podcasts will easily find them. UPDATE 14 April 2013 I am often asked to make my stories available for downloading.
